So I read the tutorial already posted here on how to flash it, but it sems kinda confusing. I know how to use and, fastboot, I've always used cwm recov and it auto flashed it so never have I manually flashed one, anyone show me how?

TWRP only has the PG86IMG.zip. Simply download the file and make sure it is named PG86IMG.zip and place in on the root of your SD card.
http://www.tinyw.in/1MH - Here is the PG86IMG from the TWRP thread.
Download flashable zip from the OP and rename it "PG86IMG.zip" (without the quotes)
Place in the root of the sdcard
Power off phone (make sure you turn off hot boot or pull the battery when it's off)
Power on the phone holding power and volume down
Follow the prompts to flash it
Delete .zip (PG86IMG.zip) after booting
Enjoy

If someone really wanted to use fastboot to flash it, all they would have to do is pull the image out of the zip and use the appropriate fastboot command. I upgraded to 1.0.2 that way this morning with no issues.

The PG86IMG.zip method is rather quick and easy, as was already described. However, if you don't want to do it that way, there is an app made by Joeykrim that will flash the recovery for you. It's called flash image GUI. Check it out. I think it's available in the market, and here is his thread on it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192527&highlight=flash+GUI+app
So my question to this is. . .if I have Revolutionary on my phone, will I need to install others such as TWRP or ClockworkMod?
Isn't Revolutionary going to do the same thing that those were set to do? And if not. . .do I need more than one recovery tool on the SD card. . or the phone, shall I say???

Yes, you'll still need TWRP or Clockwork. I suggest TWRP. Revolutionary gave you S-off, which then made it possible to flash a custom recovery image (clockwork or twrp). When you have S-On, the system is write protected, so you're unable to flash a custom recovery image. Revolutionary gave you S-off, thus making the system read/write, so now you can flash the custom recovery image. The custom recovery image is going to allow you to flash unsigned files, such as roms, kernels, modifications, themes, etc etc. Just download the PG86IMG.zip file from the TWRP recovery thread, make sure that it's named exactly PG86IMG.zip, place the file on your SD card and then boot to bootloader. It'll ask you to update, say yes. Now you have a custom recovery image on your phone. The easiest way to boot into recovery is to download an app from the market called 'quickboot'. Use that app to boot into recovery, bootloader, reboot, or power down. Have fun.
I already have Clockwork. It's what I chose when I rooted the phone. I'm going to stick with that. I still have the ability to flash. However I am going to download the app that you recommended. Thanks much for the information. And I'm sorry because I actually meant Clockwork instead of Revolutionary. So as long as I have that, I don't need another recovery type. Correct?

Ahh, that makes more sense that you meant clockwork instead of revolutionary. haha. To answer your question, yes, you only need one or the other. If clockwork is the recovery you prefer, then you don't need TWRP for anything at all.
Would it ever make sense to use two or more at the same time?

unless we're talking about women, then no, definitely not
Only possible to use one recovery at a time. You can switch them if you'd like, but can't have more than one at the same time.

what im i doing wrong should i just stick with clockworkmod or keep trying to install twrp-shooter-1.0.0.img or is it installed already
Download TWRP as the PC86IMG.zip. Put it in the root of the sd card and boot into bootloader and let it scan for the update. It will ask to apply update and select yes. Much easier that way. Make sure it is all caps and name exactly PC86IMG.ZIP and not PC86IMG.ZIP.ZIP.

You don't flash that in recovery. Your supposed to rename the file to PG86IMG.zip ,put the file on the root of your sdcard, and go to your bootloader where it should find the img and update automatically.
I guess I can't type fast enough.
You could also flash it using fastboot, not 100% on commands but its something like fastboot flash recovery xxxx.img

Jayharper was correct with his instructions. Just make sure that when you download the file, you rename it to PG86IMG.zip, because it has some extra stuff in the file name when you download it. Just be sure it's exactly PG86IMG.zip, and then boot to bootloader. It'll find it and ask you to update.

should i just back up everything thats on my memory card and erase everything and just install the twrp and try again?
please help im almost there...............
make sure you didn't rename it to PC86IMG.ZIP.zip
make sure you can see your file extensions, you might have them hidden, and you are accidentally renaming the file with a double extension
If the bootloader update method isn't working for you and you have ADB and fastboot set up correctly just follow the instructions on the 3rd post of this thread.

Not only that, Team Wins' Recovery isn't a piece of crappy like clockwork. Plus the visuals are nice too. I backed my phone up for the first time with clockwork and tried to restore, what do you know? It never backed my phone up. Then I was stuck with a ROM-less phone.Screw CWM.

i don't know if you got help or not yet but CWM isn't working properly yet. you need to download teamwin recovery (its kickass) and rename the file to PG86img and put it in the root of your sd card.
Then power off your phone(make sure fast boot is off), pull out the battery, put it back in and power into Bootload (Vol dwn,Power) and it will run a script for the pg86 file and Click yes to update. Then Reboot.
Enjoy

First make sure you have the following downloaded and copied to the root of your sdcard.
Follow this per the letter and you shouldn't have any problems.
Download the attached files to the root of your external sdcard. This works best if you have a seperate sdcard reader.
Shut off your phone.
Remove the battery from your phone (just to be sure that it's off.)
Place the battery back in.
Put in your sdcard.
Place the battery cover back on.
Hold the VOLUME DOWN button while pressing POWER and HOLD BOTH until your device powers up.
You should now see a prompt if you want to upgrade your Recovery.
Upgrade or update (whatever it is) your recovery
Now go ahead and select Recovery from the menu.
Select the option to install from sdcard.
Locate su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip and flash it.
Reboot your rooted phone.

I cooked this up in line two minutes.
All you need to do is have the drivers installed first and USB Debugging enabled.
Unzip and run the Flash.bat as Administrator.
I hope it'll help.

This should do everything for you.
All you need to do is have USB Debugging enabled in settings, plug it into your computer and run the bat script.
What it will do.
It'll reboot your phone and go into a white screen and send the recovery to your phone. Afterwards it will write to the nand. After that's finished it will reboot your phone automatically. You will still need to reboot to recovery after it's booted up and install the su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip file. Make sure you have that on your INTERNAL sdcard if you don't have an EXTERNAL. The 5.0.2.7 recovery is the only recovery that supports the internal sdcard thus it is the only recovery that will work for you.
CWM Version 5.8.1.4, Stock rom, rooted.
Just wanted to create a back up before I flash any custom roms, I haven't been able to create a system back up. I've tried backing up to external SD card, and internal SD card but neither works.
Internal SD card will go all the way through the steps: Boot image, recovery image, system, data, and then it just hangs on the SU command at the very end of the data back up.
External SD card hangs on system back up with no commands.
Is there any fix around this? Would AmonRA be a better recovery manager to use? I used CWM because it's what I used on my Droid 2.
Also, once I create a recovery image, is there a way to manage and delete images through CWM? I know RomManager had a way, but there were issues with ROM manager on HTC phones so I stayed away from it.
edit: sorry I tried to link to other forum posts but I can't post links. there was a post I wanted to link to saying AmonRA is better, but it didn't go into detail as to why. Can I uninstall CWM and reinstall AmonRA without any problems?

Yes. Do it! That is, switch to AmonRA. One of the big problems with CWM is that it won't charge a dead battery if you happen to run it all the way down to zip.
I know AmonRA is in the roll-up sticky among other places.:highfive:

In bootloader, you use fastboot commands. So it would be
Code:
fastboot devices
Then, assuming it sees your device
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
recovery.img is the recovery file, of course.

I need some serious help. My ex-boyfriend rooted my phone, all I know is that it is s-off, locked, and rooted. Now it is trying to update to Ice cream sandwich all the time and it freezes my phone, or makes it shut off and occasionally bricks my phone. So I constantly have to keep pulling my battery and restarting my phone. What should I do? How do I get it to stop trying to push the update and messing up my phone? Or is there a way to get the update to go through?
It depends on the goal you're looking for.
If you want ICS, flash this: http://db.tt/M09JDsfq
Re-name it PH98IMG and place it on the root of your SD card, then reboot into boot loader.
If you want to stay with GB, I think there is an OTA blocker out there, not sure where though.

Go download TWRP http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1613576 and follow the instructions. Make sure you remove any file also named PH98IMG.zip on your SD card as to not confuse them. From here you should be good so long as you are actually S OFF
1. Download the version for your firmware version NOT ROM VERSION
2. Flash the zip via PH98IMG.zip. If you want to flash via fastboot, use the command "fastboot flash recovery nameoffile.img" if and pull the recovery.img out of the PH98IMG.zip
Also side note, make sure you are in fact on GB and not on a leaked build of ICS before flashing by going into "about phone" under settings.

Yes you can hold off on the recovery. The one I gave you needs to be renamed ph98img.zip, placed on the sd card. Then boot into bootloader (battery pull, volume down, power) and it will pick it up and ask you to update.
***EDIT*** ooops you are s-off, so amon ra SHOULD flash if you follow the directions above.
****EDIT **** Regarding the leak...the leak IS what was pushed to owners but with global capabilities and some other fixes. You should keep it...

***EDIT*** ooops you are s-off, so amon ra SHOULD flash if you follow the directions above.
****EDIT **** Regarding the leak...the leak IS what was pushed to owners but with global capabilities and some other fixes. You should keep it...

Make sure it is named ph98img.zip vs. ph98img.zip.zip and that it is on the ext-sd card (the one that you can remove) .
Not sure what you mean by "all it did was show the green". If it scans for ph98img files and doesn't find this one, then its been mis-named or put in the wrong place.

I believe it also has to be in all caps, because in Linux, names are case-sensitive.

Puzzling Please try getting the ph98img file from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1339679 , down near the bottom of post 1 and give that a try.
to be honest, I'm thinking you've got it named PH98IMG.zip.zip . Perhaps you've checked it....view it in windows in the 'details' mode where the file extensions ae shown. Or right mouse click on it and check file name in "properties"..
If you're positive its named correctly, cool, but right now I'm at a loss if this other download doesn't work for you.
FYI: I was wondering about the case sensitive issue so I tried using ph98img.zip vs. PH98IMG.zip and it works.
Here is amon ra 3.15 no need to rename it's already named correctly just put on your SD card and flash in bootloader.

Yay, good news. For pointers, I would just look/read some of the info regarding various ROMS in the Dev section. You should go into recovery and back up what you have now, though. Then, you can flash a rom and if you don't like it, just restore the backup!.... Find an app like titanium backup to backup your apps so it makes restoring things after changing roms a bit easier. I always to to the playstore online from my computer and restore apps that way, and use titanium to just restore the data.....other than that...don't let boyfriends mess with your phone!:

ok i just abacked up! any ideas on creating things like battery widgets and stuff? i was just looking through some other posts and it seems complicated but intersting.
For some reason flashing boot files isnt working anymore (I'm S-ON). Below is the screenshot. The green progress bar quickly loads up when the file is flashed then nothing happens when i hit "power" on the highlighted 'bootloader' it just checks the SD card but never asks to update. I'm extracting the boot.img right from the ROM into my unlock tools folder, just as I've always done. This won't work on my AOSP ROM or on a Sense ROM. I've used a Sense ROM with Aroma installer and bootloader did ask to update, which I did but the kernel never took. Any ideas??
Sounds like its time to s-off..

Are you sure it didn't flash? Check your kernel version in the phone info.
I think what you're describing as not happening is for when you flash in hboot. I don't think you get that update question when you flash via fastboot. It's been a long time since I flashed a kernel so someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Rereading your post, I'm not sure if you're saying you can't boot into the phone or if you're just expecting it to ask you to update. If it won't boot, make sure you don't have a ph98img file on your SD card. You can also use the reboot command on your pc but I can't remember what it is and my notes on that are on another computer.
