Not sure which device you're on, but if you have CWM Recovery you can try wiping Dalvik cache.

Galaxy Ace 2, could you tell me how i can do that please thanks.
EDIT, i didn't have that installed, i did root my phone a few days ago and the wifi was working perfect after it :/
You should be able to find a guide thread for installing CWM for your particular device. After that, boot into the recovery and choose from the advanced option the "wipe Dalvik" cache. Its a useful tool for clearing up strange bugs that may appear over time.

Thanks ill give it a try now and see if it works, hopes so!
Nope no luck, im totally lost now.
Did you install CWM? Have you tried clearing network connections: Settings>Wireless & Networks>Wi-Fi Settings>Manage Networks>Manage Network Options? This will 'forget' all known networks and you can re-connect to your Wi-Fi again, since something has obviously gotten it fubar'd.

Ill have a mess around, i did root my phone i wonder if it will work if i go back to the original firmware?
You could try unrooting, but I can't imagine that would have any affect on things... at least it shouldn't!

Are you sure its not your router? Are your settings any different than what they were before? If you phone was connecting before you reset your router and if you didn't change anything in your phone it's probably the router. Do your other devices (laptop, other phones...) connect?

Well it happened before i reset the router, it happened right after i uninstalled some stock apps like chaton etc, i can't remember what else i deleted but i think that was it, i thought if i hard reset it those apps would be re installed?
Did you make a backup? You don't remember what you deleted?

Hey guys!
I recently started using Cozmo1's coZ rom and its great so far but I'm having a few issues.
This is the link to his rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1337437
I would post this question the ROM page itself but it seems I cant because I'm a new member.
Anyways my problem has to do with data connectivity.
Very often, my phone simple doesn't have any reception bars and results in the ( / ) circle that indicates no reception.
The only way to fix this for me to is to toggle airplane mode on and off and after a minute or so it reenables.
The times I do have a consistent reception, after around 5 minutes of being idle, the data connection turns off completely. I thought this was
some kind of battery saving feature that automatically enables when I need to use data but the only way to get data is to toggle airplane mode on and off again.
This is giving me some serious issues as missing calls because of the ( / ) reception or extremely delayed text messages.
Also when I'm driving and need some quick directions, I can't use voice command to put in the address as this requires connectivity.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Try wiping cache and dalvik cache in cwm. Also try fixing permissions in cwm if that doesn't work.

I'll throw you a bone... Sort of. Read the following threads (multiple times if you don't fully understand), then ask any questions you may still have. I'm not being rude, I'm being helpful. I still have lots of questions... I read a lot! Don't forget to read the links inside these threads!

Read this next
Then this
As for your modem question: Basically, it controls you're connectivity to data, gps and, I believe, wifi. (please correct if wrong)
There is a thread (Google search: Modem i777 xda) you can find with different modems and a nap that might help you find which is likely to be the best for your area.

So would you guys say the answer to my problem is getting a new modem?
Did flashing the coZ rom somehow install a new modem over the stock one and start causing problems?
Actually according to the rom thread ( I know, who actually reads those?), it says it comes packaged with the stock modem.

Just flashed it good sir and it seemed like it would work!
While using it though it randomly went to the ( / ) symbol and all data and connectivity was lost.
Had to toggle airplane mode for it to reenable
Some more suggestions would be nice peeps! :fingers-crossed:
It seems to have gotten kinda worse after the new modem. I have to restart my phone to reenable data connectivity now
Back up all your important info, reboot into cwm recovery, go to mounts/ storage, wipe the /system, data, cache partitions. Go back one screen , go to advanced, wipe dalvik. Then reinstall the ROM. If it fixes it, then yer good. If not its either a hardware issue or a ROM issue.

Did as you said. The problem persists. I guess it's the ROM
Ok so I so I have suffered from authentication errors and ridiculously poor WiFi range since I rooted my phone. Or most probably since I flashed a custom Rom (omega) for the first time..
Now, after endless research and lots of trial and error (or as I say, terror) I have finally found a solution. Although this is NOT and ideal solution, it solved my problem. Not being able to use WiFi at work when I'm only around 7 meters from the server is an absolute no no for me! Especially twinned with the frustration of 30 attempts to authenticate and still having 70 odd % signal and yet no connectivity.
So here goes..
For me.. disabling power saving mode via *#0011# did NOT work.
Nor did flashing back to stock without root.
Flashing cm9 did NOT work.
Flashing stock did Not work. And full cwm wipe didn't work either. And all other combinations.
So by hard work, research into other threads, Lots of terror and pure luck. I fixed my problem.
Apologies if this does not work for you.. but if u Have simular problems to me. I'm sure it will work. So follow these steps
1. back up via android. Copy backup to pc if u try this and it doesn't work u cant go back to before. Also backup and apps or pics music etc to pc.
2. Download latest stock Rom with root
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1704185
Thanks to wanam!
3. full Wipe, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache. Flash latest wanam stock Rom. And repeat the wiping in recovery again. Full, cache and dalvik. Fix permissions.
4. Now reboot. And test if u still have the problem. As I did still. If not... yay you!
5. Do a hard reset. Yes a factory reset. NOT a full wipe via recovery. A reset via settings/backup and wipe/factory personal data reset. WARNING by doing this you will lose all app settings. All android backups and all data on internal storage. I believe this will also leave your ext sd contents unusable so ALWAYS backup to pc!
6. Repeat steps 3 and 4 again. This made my WiFi range and connectivity problems
Disappear! Although I still had authentication errors
7.Then repeat step 5 and see your outcome. It's seems for me atleast, that a double wipe was necessary. I'm not sure about you guys.
I hope this works for you all!
Thank me if it did or If I've helped in anyway!
Happy to answer questions! Noob or not.

I have an old Galaxy S and I run Wifi Analyzer on both (CM9.1 on S and CF rooted stock JB on S III) and boy.... there are more available networks
on S then on new brand super-duper flagship. Is my new phone faulty?
I am seriously pissed.
i have tried the above methods in vain -.- still not resolved
-------------------
what causes this problem anyway? it just all happened randomly
Has anyone found a fix for this yet???
I'm pretty convinced this is to do with router settings personally, but I don't know much about them so.....
The settings for my wifi were already in there from when I was on ACE 4.2.5. I wiped cache, dalvik cache AND did a factory reset. The settings were still there. They are the same settings that worked before. Also, I went to client's offices that have wifi and I got the same problem there too. If it's something to do with the routers, I know a lot of routers that all of the sudden have issues that didn't before THIS ROM update...
Finally fixed my error on the 4th Step.
I though I would never made it , but I did
I had the authentication Wi-Fi error.
Thanks for the Guide.
(I used Omega ROM 50.1 v for this Guide quite same as the Wanam ROM.)
Hi, here's, yet another MEID/ESN problem:
I'm currently flashed to boost mobile, but I guess my flash wore off, because I can't call (says something cannot be verified) or text.
But, here's the weird part: I can still get perfect (but still slow) data...
If a flash wears off, doesn't data go bye bye as well?
Any advice?

This occured suddenly or you did something?
This happened to me when I S-OFFed my EVO.
Data worked on 1X but calls/text didnt work. My carrier settings reverted to Sprint's.
Check your prl and other settings in "about phone". Are they still same , as they were when everything worked?
If you have a QPST/CDMA workshop backup, try restoring that.
This seems more of a "A-key" problem.
I resolved my issues by reflashing to my carrier using my backups and restoring A-KEY which I got from the person who flashed my EVO to another carrier.

I have tried this on multiple ROMs and have done several complete wipes to try and fix this issue. The issue is during a phone call i sound as though I am very far away. Since this issue occurs on different ROMs, (Paranoid, CM10, MeanBean) i feel as though it may be a hardware issue with the phone itself is probably not fixable by me. Has anyone else experienced this before?
I am experiencing the same thing, every person I talk to on phone says the same thing.
Called sprint, but no help??
I wonder if flashing stock rom, updating radios, and flashing back to custom rom would help.
Anyone?

I had this problem too when I ran JellyBam 4.1.0 . So one day I cleared internal storage(which I regret), factory reset and system. I installed JellyBam 4.1.0 again and the call quality was much better than before. Word of caution:be very, very careful before you delete your internal storage. The nandroid backups for me didn't back that up...

Have you tried activating the HAC call option in the dialer settings ?? Also you can try to raise the volume threw qpst as well. Don't know if it will solve your issue but its something to give a shot.
