Best screen guard opinion - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi ppl, i wanna buy a screen protector for my x10 but... I do not know what to buy
ZAGG invisibleSHIELD
or
Steinheil Anti-Fingerprint Film for Sony Ericsson Xperia X10

i think ZAGG invisibleSHIELD is good, but expensive

http://www.amazon.co.uk/SONY-ERICSS...T1QI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1312324877&sr=8-1
They do the job for me

6-IN-1 and cheap

zagg ones are a waste of money, they feel too rubbery and have an orange peel effect when fitted.
i wouldnt use another one, nice cheap ones for me that you can just replace every other month if need be

I agree with Morbidx13. My first Zagg on previous phone was perfect but this one I got for X10 doesn't fit at all and looks terrible after just one year.

for me too

im kinda a headache with my screen guard. always tend to peeled off on the edge in weeks time,.]

I have a Zagg and I like it. Though I think it could have been a mm wider. There is a textile feel and a bit of orange peel effect but it feels great, is more responsive than the stock, while resistance to fingerprints and smudges is very good.

I used Zagg but I hate its stickiness (and it's difficult to apply and there's some "powder" under the screen).
Clearfreak is OK (no stickiness), but you have to custom cut (use the one for motorola t). It's soft like Zagg but the surface isn't sticky.
I think hard protector is much easier to apply and it's not expensive as Zagg (lifetime replacement still costs you, so I give up). I use Reallook and it's very good (no "rainbow effect" like cheap hard protectors).

I used the screen protector that comes with the phone... works well for me... you just need to know how to apply it properly

Atrix, zagg shield or not?

For one, if you wanted to spend over $100 you could get a new glass screen and get it installed somehow. As far as getting protection then, I fully recommend it. Gorilla glass is NOT AT ALL as good as they say it is. My phone doesn't come into contact with razor blades and other crap it says it stands up against, but it does come in contact with minor pieces of lint in my pocket which somehow scratched this "impervious" screen...
As far as what type of protector...I didn't like Zagg or Ghost Armor or any of those stupid things. More expensive, more hassle than they're worth. I got I think a Splash Masque screen protector off Amazon or something. Something like that should do the trick. Not too hard to install w/o bubbles and I can't really tell it's there (feels normal, fits just fine).
zagg scratch guards are pathetic to use.
all rubbery feel with no smoothness unless you lube it
overpriced stuff that you cant through off because you overspent kind of feeling ..
get cheap clear screen protectors.. cost $2-5 over ebay for pack of 10 or something
I agree with the other two. Don't get a Zagg. I am currently using one and regret it. When I slide my finger to scroll or to play games, sad enough sometimes my fingers don't slide as smooth as opposed to some other screen protectors. Although I would say that it has saved my screen a couple of times. If your willing to spend the money on a Zagg and idk what your budget is like you could try out the otter box Commuter. Its isn't that bulky in my opinion and has a pretty good screen protector on it, with the bonus of protecting the phone itself.

I use zagg and I like it. It does have a rubbery feel though but no glare and easy smudge clean up are good.

I have Zagg. I agree with the rubbery feel, but I like it. It gives it mooooreeee grip.

I used a bodyguardz but didn't really like the feel of it and the proximity sensor wouldn't work right. Order some other cheap one off Amazon which feels a lot better but the proximity sensor still doesn't work right with it.
I can deal with the proximity sensor issue more than I could put up with a scratch in on my screen. Not sure if the zaggs interfere with the proximity sensor or not.

I use Zagg full body coverage, and I'm very happy with it. Yes, it feels rubbery.
But I'm looking the Splash Masque stuff, it's good to know a second opinion
I picked one up on Amazon called
Motorola Atrix 4G Crystal Clear Premium Screen Protector 2 Pack by REALOOK (AT&T)
I can't link since I'm a noobie poster. It's slightly spendy at 10.99 but has been great for me so far. Easy to put on with no bubbles, doesn't effect the usability of the screen either. By far the best screen protector I've used when compared to a few I've had on my iPhones.

Don't go the Zagg route.
First the invisible shields are a true PITA to install! (trust me it's a lot harder than a normal screen protector)
Second even if you get it installed correctly it feels rubbery weird.
Just go with the clear screen protector cheapies on eBay, and either a leather holster or a TPU clear case (depending if you pocket or not) and you'll be fine...
Im a huge fan of ghost armor. I like the look and feel of it. Yeah it sucks do pay $20 for the initial screen and service, but its $5 bucks after to replace it forever.

I went with Zagg myself, went in to the local store had them install it for 10 bucks. Just got it replaced, it does have a sort of grip to it on the screen that you have to get use to. Overall all I'm happy with the protection it's given my phone, usually after a couple months I'll start seeing scratches and stuff, I'm a little disappointed that I had to take it in to get the shield replaced today, but it was free save for the installation free so I'd say it was definitely a good investment for my device.

[Q] Screen Protectors, do we need them?

Just wondering if we do need them, or does the phone come with one already applied from the factory?
If we do need them, anyone reccomend the ones to get?
I don't personally use one because I'm very careful and keep my phone in a mofi case. Although I do know someone who has owned the phone a shorter time than me and has already scratched his screen.
I suppose it depends on how careful you are. The screens on these things are tough but they will scratch.
Was thinking of purchasing a gel case, or some sort of case.
FlexiShield for Galaxy S II
Has caught my eye, looks rather good. I know it wont offer full screen protection, but, The raised case around the screen means the screen won't touch any surface if its placed face down im guessing?

I always use a screen protector just in case, as I find the trade off between having one on or risking scratching a screen on a phone I paid £400+ that will continually bug me if scratched is worth it.
I normally pickup a pack of cheapies from ebay and replace when needed.
Also picked up an lovely s-line case too from ebay which does the job and looks great.
Sorry can't post an links as am in work and Ebay and other pleasures are banned
Gorilla glass is very resistant to cracks, but not to scratches from small pieces of sand etc.
I use sgp crystal screen protectors, so far so good.

You should use a screen protector no matter what. It's easier to replace the protector than the screen. Don't waste money on expensive ones either. I don't use eBay but I do find them on amazon dirt cheap. Amazon is a excellent source for phone accessories. I use otterbox commuter case for my phone. You should if they make one for your model. The commuter case is best of the best when it comes to cases.
i like matte screen protectors myself , they dont show up fingerprints or oils as much , on the flip side they arent as clear as ''crystal'' ones nut i find that the ''crystal'' ones pick up fingerprints oils to easy for my likings
matte ones also feel really nice and smooth , i got some cheap ones from ebay and they are fine however sgp do some matte ones as well
google is your friend
i always use a screen protector even on gorilla glass , it will scratch under certain conditions with certain particles and id rather change a screen protector then the sgs2 front glass which isnt an easy job at all as everything is built into the front of the unit
have a good day and enjoy your new gadget
Hi
You can probably purchase a screen protector for the whole screen so you can just protect it from scratches...you can buy from amzer
I am using Zagg shield full body protector best protector in the market it is scratch proof and military grade producy. Not taking the risk cuz I paid 800 bucks for this phone.

Ive heard of people having scratch their screens already, so i would advise getting a protector. It gives that added peace of mind.

Galaxy Player 5.0 Screen Protector

I am wondering which ones you guys bought for your players (Obviously those screens are too nice to be scratched ). I got the Zagg Invisibleshield on their cyber Monday sale for $8
Same thing for me, same promotion. Now, I hate those Zagg guys.
But the important thing I guess is that the screen protector works well.
I bought a cheap ebay set, used for 2-3 weeks, removed. They scratched too easily. I like it bare! Have nice leather case, hopefully I won't scratch it... or good ones will become available.

After trying different types of screen protectors for my phone and tablet, I found that it is best to bare it. Screens produced these days are very tough actually, I don't have any scratches on any devices so far.
These days I only get screen protectors to deal with fingerprints... The Moshi screen protectors AT&T carries are great for this. Problem is that since the SGP5 isn't an AT&T phone, I don't get the usual 50% discount on accessories I get.
I had a ZAGG InvisibleShield on my Huawei S7, which was decent, and reminds me I need to eBay that piece of **** tablet. (Whatever you all do - don't buy Huawei products. They've improved build quality a lot, but customer support for their devices SUCKS.)
The SGP5 is a fingerprint/fingersmudge magnet.
I find there are fewer fingerprints bare than with a protector (at least the cheap ones). A bare screen also cleans much easier. I may try one of those matte anti-fingerprint ones. Bare is so smooth and responsive!

Yeah, the Moshis I had on my Infuse and have on my GSII are matte anti-fingerprint - love em'!
I got on my 2 Galaxy tabs Ghost Armor but on my 2 SGS II i got the Zagg but I will take it off and go with the Ghost Armor, I like it better!!
i got a skinomi screen protector and carbon fiber skin protector. the screen protector works pretty well, the skin is really just for a little more grip.
i had some issues with shipping, but, long story short, they had some great customer service, and they ended up shipping me two.
I have seen a lot of comments about Zagg that the screen protector feels rubbery or sticky to the touch. Is that correct? How about the ghost armor.
At this point, I have not put anything on. I like the look and touch of the screen, and I the only pocket that I would put my SGP 5 in is my shirt pocket. It has a folio case for traveling.
I would like to keep the screen protected, but just don't know what to use that I have not read bad comments about.
I have zagg on 2 of my devices and they were both a little sticky feeling for the first week or so, but as you use it, it irons out to a perfect smooth. I love Zagg and I'll get one for every device I own!

I got a Skinomi screen protector and wood skin for my Archos 70. The skin gave it better grip but after 6 months, the skins small pieces kept falling off. The screen protector though is great. Never coming loose. I had a couple scratches show up on it but after a few minutes they disappeared. Also the bare screen was a finger print magnet but once I go this screen protector on it was much better. Loved Skinomi screen protector so much I ordered one the for my Samsung 5 minutes after I ordered the device itself. Screen protector came before the device so I was able to put it on right away. Looks great, finger prints barely show up, never need to clean off the screen, never got any scratches showing up.

Supposedly the Zagg are made of the same material as the Skinomi. I noticed that it does have a little bit of a rubbery feel which doesn't bother me. It also did have a bit of a sticky feel, but that went away after a while. I thought maybe I got used to the sticky feel but I had one of these on my Archos tablet and the sticky feel went away, then when I got my Samsung and put a skinomi on that I felt the sticky again so it was not that I got use to the sticky feeling, it actually went away (The sticky feeling on my Samsung is now gone). I don't think I'll ever get another mobile device without getting a Skinomi screen (or ZAGG if they happen to be cheaper).
How is the quality, I want a protector for my SGP, too
I had a cheap Ebay one on it, but took it off because it got greasy way too fast. I like it bare, I'm not too worried about scratches. I tried scratching it with an exacto knife and it didn't scratch. I carry it around in this case which protects it very well: http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-...GEOQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1327694289&sr=8-1
I also have this case on the device, that gives it a good grip and additional protection.
I use an xtreemegaurd. I like it a lot! Easy to install, and I only have like one or two air bubbles, (not on the screen)
I bought a basic TPU
I bought 2 but I lost one, always good to have the film on it
any tips on how to remove bubbles on screen protectors? they're annoying
Remove protector is easiest way. I've been running bare for a month, no scratches yet! Otherwise if you are careful you should be able to get no bubbles. They are usually caused by lint or dust specks. You can try pealing back and using tape to remove the dust, then roll it back down. I have yet to find a protector that feels as good as the raw screen (which seems very durable)

I am using Stealth Shieldz. They are just like Zagg, but a lot cheaper and come with two. They are like 3 dollars on amazon. Absolutely no air bubbles. It is also a tad bit thinner than zagg I believe. It is a great screen protector. Lifetime warranty. So far so good.

The best screen protector i can buy online

Last time I bought from eBay some very fast scratched screen protectors for my XT910, and now would like to know whats the best screen protectors I can buy online for the device? Thanks.
I've used two types. One is hard plastic, really easy to install, shows fingerprints and scratches easily. The other has a soft rubbery feel, is difficult to install, and doesn't scratch.
I know xtremeguard sells the soft kind, they often have decent coupon codes. I'm sure you can find them on ebay cheaper, but it isn't always easy to tell which type you are getting.
I am using invisible shield, it's working well. Bought it when I bought the phone and it's working well.

I bought rainbow screen protector from ebay and i really satisfied with this .
its vey cheap and kinda scratch proof , doesnt show fingerprints and easy to remove and doesn't left any adhesive after remove.
Please hit the thanks  if i ever helped ya !!
I personally use all spigen SGP screen protectors. All their ultra crystal protectors are super scratch resistant. They don't have anymore on their site for the RAZR but I believe if you search amazon you will find that they actually use it for their back stock retail in the US.

Tempered Glass Screen Protector

I have applied a tempered glass screen protector on my Xperia Z Ultra.... perhaps the one I'm using is not of a good quality, it still attracts fingerprints and I find the responsiveness of the touchscreen has become worse, and the screen seems to become more reflective to sunlight than before... A bit regretful for putting this on as I don't feel much improvements over the previous plastic screen protector I was using...
sorry for you dude...please tell us the brand..so that we wont buy it..thanks for the heads up
Wow that sucks I just ordered mine yesterday. Both front and back I hope I don't regret it.

I just ordered one off eBay for the back. I spent money on the front and got the Armorz one. pricey but fits perfectly. attracts smudges to a degree but wipes clean with ease. hopefully the eBay back one I ordered doesn't suck. lol

Same as when I placed one on my ZXU. The brand I bought was Glas.m. It was a total waste of money to tell you the truth. The idea is nice but it just made the XZU screen loose sensitivity. Very noticeable in drawing apps and fps games. I have since removed the front Glas.m and used a regular matte screen protector. I still used the back Glas.m though protector though.

Mine is a Glass.M too ... not impressed at all ...
I got the Glass.M too, and I think it's a verry good protector.
Love the touch sensitivy, no loss on touchscreen at all, there are so much less fingerprints.
However, I think about removing the back one. It make my phone slide on every surfaces. If it's not perfectly horizontal it'll will slide slowy and fall ^^
My phone never fall at all, but since I applied this on the back it falls 4 times
Plus : Having glass.m on the both sides prevents me to use DK30
so I got the glass back piece in and it actually went on with no problems and fits rather well. now what surprised me was as I was applying it, the name brand Armorz front glass got all scuffed up. I was under the impression that it was 9H, yet simple sliding around on regular plastic topped computer desk would scratch it like crazy. I guess it can take a drill bit and razor blades but is not match for dust particles. lol *whomp whomp*

ARMORZ Stealth Extreme R Tempered Glass
Hi guys,
I applied ARMORZ tempered glass over the peeled LCD (yes, I did remove the protection layers). The Xperia Z Ultra, differs from the Z1 by a thin layer of tempered glass between the LCD and the plastic shatter-proof layer. The best way to remove both layers is to apply a lot of heat to the screen and use a very sharp tool like a snap-off cutter (I used the blade alone).
The difference with this astonish hi quality screen protector is huge! Whole new experience!
Hope it help to decide others to encourage and remove the original screen protector.
Regards
