Why do you need more than 200mb of ram? I have close to 60mb free and zero lag.

Lol exactly what I was thinking. What app could you be running that 200 free isn't cutting it.

Dungeon defenders,on 2.2.2 I could play and still send and receive texts via chompsms, with 2.3.3 I can't,I MIGHT get a text and if I do,I cannot send one back because it won't send until I stop playing, so either 2.3.3 handles ram retardedly or I need more

If I remember correctly, Compcache needs a kernel that supports it. Until we unlock the bootloader and get custom kernels, we won't have Compcache..

Its that game not a ram issue. I play games that use higher ram then DD and still can multitask without any apps restarting or not working.

The standard, "untouched" Netflix app should work fine now that the device check has been removed (this is the one magicriggs linked to with the Droid Life article). I've been using it for a couple days now with no issue.

The one from DROID life works fine for me. The one that had the device check disabled started getting errors saying that the app needed to be updated.

I downloaded it from your confirmed link and it works great, the constant "would you like to update" notification is no longer interrupting playback.
Thanks again.
I am getting the update check nag when I first start the app, but not during playback. Rooted Droid X2. Froyo 2.2
I used this link: http://www.droid-life.com/2011/05/2...ice-check-should-work-on-all-android-devices/
Does anyone have the latest APK? It's constantly nagging to update and won't allow me to update because the Droid X2 isn't allowed to access it in market. It still works fine, but that update nag screen is getting annoying. I watch a lot of NETFLIX LOL :/
here it is.
Thanks!

This is great, but I can't imagine using Netflix too often. When do you find yourself in a situation where watching TV/Movies on your phone is your best option? (open question)

I am a geotechnical engineer and (especially in spring and summer) do a decent amount of field work, ie not in my office. Sometimes when out on a site there is a lot of unforeseen down time before my responsibilities are called upon... That's when king of the hill episodes in my car in the shade come up big in the clutch.

With the size and resolution of the screen on this phone, I could see it as an excellent video device. I personally don't have a ton of times I'd use it a such though, hence my question.
Thanks for the answer.

Does anyone know (or explain) how to make one of these? I'm running Eclipse v0.1 right now and loving it, but prefer the stock 2.3.3 battery bar.

I'm using eclipse 2.0.1 so it may be because im using 2.3.5, because it doesn't show up for me

On Liberty 3 and shows up and downloads fine

It could be that you are on 2.3.5 since 2.3.5 isnt official yet. That might be another reason why I'll hold off on updating until its official.
Runs amazing for me on Molten. No issues at all. Even download the files over 3G.

Running Eclipse and it works great but does have a few framerate issues does yours?
What's the version number and build number for 2.3.4? Because just changing the prop to look like 2.3.4 didn't work

EDIT: I got it working, just flashed the mash-up Build Prop for 2.3.4,had to clear cache and Dalvik
Well it took 72 minutes to download with 3g and was 423mb but wow it was worth it. Reminds me of how cool it was 10 years ago. Never thought that I could be playing it on a phone. It is exactly as I remember with nothing left out so thank you Rockstar

FYI I got 2.3.5, used tegra zone to find it, but links to market which says it is not compatible

Same here lol not a good thing to do on the side walk.
I just downloaded it and it's working fine here on Eclipse 2.0.2. I couldn't download it from the Market on 2.0.2 since it said it was incompatible. I used my last 1.3 nand to download the .apk then applied it to 2.0.2, then waited as it downloaded the 400+ MB of files. Plays fine, although a little choppy in spots.
running on eclipse 1.3rc2, not really seeing any issues w/ game play, seems pretty smooth. Using tweaked minfrees and sd read ahead, not sure if this even matters (1536,3072,20992,22784,24832,32000)(2048). Just wish there was support for the wii controller...
Working fine for me
Anyone else have trouble when downloading the required files? I've tried about a half a dozen times over wi-fi and it will finish downloading all but 1% (says 3 files left) and it just hangs.
Haven't tried it over 3g, mostly because the service in my area is horrid.
you have to wait longer, i thought it hung too but it's not, just give it time, and i had to reboot once before it played correctly.
I think maybe the large gap in time is because it is moving it from cache to the android/data location. Just try again, and give it time. it will work
Agreed, give it time at the end. Works fine for me on Liberty rc31. Every once in a while it shutters, but not often. LOVE THIS GAME!

Just wondering, other than the "face recognition", what are some of the other major additions to android that come with the upgrade from GB to ICS, ICS leaks etc? And has anyone tried any of them? How are they? Just wondering....
I know you said besides face recognition but I'll have to say using a pin is way faster plus it's really sensitive to light. I turned it off.

The google voice typing/dictation is pretty good even on 4.0.3 (.75 leak), but you have to select it every time via pulldown menu, i can't get it to be the default.

Guys I am soooo pumped about getting my DNA today!!!! I'm no stranger to rooting but I have noticed people saying "do not receive the OTA". Will my phone come with it already on there? How will I know? I'm coming from a Droid Razr and can't wait to see what my new phone has to deliver. Thanks guys

if you are getting it from online or any other way through the mail it will most likely have the pos ota that cant be rooted yet (i'm in the same boat and while the stock rom is pretty good the verizon and htc bloatware is annoying to say the least)
Most of the bloatware can be disabled on stock although it's not removing it you can prevent it from being seen and running in your phone.

I don't think we can easily re size the different partitions yet, so deleting them won't add any usable space.

It didn't have the new update thankfully. Settings-> About -> Software info. -> Software number should start as 1.15
Well if you do have the update then disabling it is the only thing you can do for now until a new exploit is found which should be soon.
