EDIT: I didn't even know it was possible to delete the bootanimation and boot anyway... Has someone already experience with changing or deleting the bootanimation.zip in 2.3.3?

ok i did it i mounted the root explorer as r/w and deleted it.
btw if you delete the bootanimation, u will see a cool Android logo and it start up a little bit faster

OK; and thanks for the remark about deleting the bootanimation...
Greetz,
kwarkje

go to system/media and delete bootanimation.zip assuming you are rooted with a root applicable file explorer... if not, why the question...

Need help removing the carrier logo at the start up.

hi everybody,
i want to get rid of the carrier logo when i start my x10.
i searched on the forums for this topic but every phone has different file format for this. so not sure to use those other methods.
i also tried to get rid of it by deleting last few files in etc\semc\chargemon. this didnt work either.
i do not want to modify it but just remove the carrier logo.
i have a rooted x10.Please help.
Generally a carrier logo means you have a branded phone, be it orange, vodafone etc etc. Anyway the easiest way to get rid of this is to install a global generic firmware, i believe Bin4ry and jerpelea have a thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=683793
i think its that one
hope this helps
Just delete the bootanimation.zip from media and you'll have the default Android logo.

Hello, I'm completly stock, how can I remove it.
Hi I have a Sony xperia z3 compact which shows the O2 symbol on start up & shutdown. I've read this forum that says delete the bootanimation. Zip from system/media but I'm afraid I can't find system/media. My phone isn't rooted does it have to be? I have file Explorer but I don't see this file pathway. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance

Nexus One bootanimation for X8

I have edited the desc.txt of the Nexus One bootanimation and now it works on the Xperia X8.
In the attached picture you see how it looks like.
And here´s the URL:
h**p://shareplace.com/?C2B1CF5017
Press "thanks" if you like it.
Installation guide:
1. Download the file and copy it to your sdcard.
2. Open Root Explorer (Or another similar file manager with root-mode)
3. Go to your sdcard, search for the file and copy it to /system/media (it has to be mounted as RW
4. replace your bootanimation.zip with my one.
If you want to have the option to go back to the stock animation after you replaced it with the new one, rename your stock bootanimation into "bootanimation.zip.bak" or something like that, and when you want to go back, delete the new one and delete the ".bak" at the end.
thank you, this look fine ... i will give a try
Sorry for my bad English! Greetings from Chile
It has a good animation but the best is the Energy Star boot
How does this look like?
EDIT: i found ia video of it- it´s good but I think I will keep my Nexus bootanimation
im looking for the stock Sony Ericsson boot animation. I have Floyo .20 but don't like it;s boot animation. If any one can upload it I would really appreciate it
Did you make a backup of your stock 2.1 before you installed floyo?
If you did, you can restore it with xrecovery, go in Root Explorer to system/media and copy the bootanimation.zip file to your sdcard, then install floyo again (via xrecovery) and replace the bootanimation.zip of floyo with your one.

How to easy switch rom with link2sd enabled?

Anyone knows because I want to switch to minicm but afraid to lose all my apps?
Sent from my X8 using Tapatalk
maybe you must use titanium backup or romtoolbox, before you switch rom, backup all of your data, and after switch to new rom you can restore all of them.
easy method you can backup all app with rootexplorer, just copy from data/app to sdcard, and after switch rom, reinstall what you need from there.
But roms have 10app2sd file in unit.d folder that links app folder to sdext. If someone could make userinit that every boot check that there is app2sd file and delete it and check for link2sd file in unit.d folder and copy there I will be nice.

[Q] ON ICS Remove bloatware, but can't find APK

I have some bloatware i wanna remove, like 'Lets golf hd, 'fun&downloads' and a couple of more.
But it seems like i Titanium backup cant find the apk's. I run ICS 4.0.4 rooted and unlocked bootloader, and use explorer to system dir, looking through 'system/app' No apk's
But if i look on 'vendor/app' i see the apk's there. So i copied the apk's to 'system/app', but no luck
What is wrong here?

Thanks, helped a little bit. But not totally. Some progs are back after reboot. And if i wanna restore them and place them on SD they stop working.
But Still i wonder what is wrong here? Why is it like this? Some screw up from Android Dev? Or Sony?
And i did search, for 2 whole days before i made this post, google, xda, sony forum.
Still your suggestion did not show up in my searches.
But do u suggest we shall not post if our searches does not reach what other ppl find?
XDA is kinda big, there is a lot answers, ..and questions
So for your information, i will still post questions in the Neo section if i do not find it in the Neo section But i promise i will not post it in the ARC section
And to the case: The thread u suggested worked, to a limit. not 100% for my needs.
But for other with a Neo like me, that wanna go through this, please try the link codephus suggested: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26758586#post26758586
Also the App can be found in google play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...leanup.Inteks.org&feature=search_result&hl=en
Sony Neo and ICS 4..4 are easy: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26980804&postcount=3
well i was trying to encourage others towards doing a through search before they post
anyway, this might sound stupid and you might tried it before but: have you tried flashing 4.0.4 ftf without the "vendor.sin"?

Remove bloatware
Hi @all!
I'm running Android 4.0.4 rooted on locked bootloader Xperia Neo.
Don't know what's the matter but it seems that bloatware in /system/vendor/app/ (such as 'Fun & Downloads', 'Let's Golf', etc) cannot be deleted.
I tried to remove those packages from SManager, Es Explorer and Root Uninstaller with root permission but they just refuse (it gives an error).
Any idea?? How did you remove them and why I cannot?
Tnx a lot!

Ok guys. It might be just my phone.
I'm root and the partition is mounted with R/W permissions and yet it doesn't permit the files to be deleted. It just says that they cannot be deleted.
I tried with several file managers, such as SManager or ES File Explorer.
