Are there any OC kernels which work with the Bell Atrix or do all the kernels work with every phone? Thanks.

I'm using faux's kernel on my Bell Atrix and it works quite well. I also have the 2nd build of Kenneth's Alien ROM and it's fantastic.
Isn't the Alien ROM not compatible with international phones, i.e. Bell yet?

It doesn't work with the provided kernel (ram issues). But like thegregulator says, it works fine with faux's kernel. I've been running Alien since the day beta 2 came out, and saying its fantastic is an understatement. Its amazingly fast and stable for me. Only draw back are a few white font on white background issues, but I can live with them all
Is faux123's kernel the only one capatible with Bell phones? Also, how do you go back to your stock kernel if something goes wrong? Finally, how do you know if your phone is d00 or d1100 so I know which one to flash? Thanks.
P.S. I'm on Bell 2.3.4 if that makes a difference

I have a captivate, so I'm only familar with captivate roms.
My cousin wants me to flash her phone with a similar rom that I have (cognition). the only problem is that I don't see her all that much, so I need something that is stable and I can flash and then not have to worry about her running into problems without me being there to fix it for her.
I'm looking for just the most popular and most stable rom that is out for the vibrant. I've heard good things about Axura. Is this my best bet?

I've never tried Axura myself, but I've heard so many good things about it that I'd say its probably one of the most stable ones out, also the developer is a very active member of this forum which is a definite plus
Axura 2.1.
It had a few minor bugs but that's it.nothing majoe

They're all buggy
I've flashed quite a few ROMs, and the most stable has been the simple combo of Eugene's JK2 froyo with the JK6 modem, and with the stock kernel.

No Axura 2.1 is actually a 2.2 rom it's just up to v2.1. All Axura roms have been Froyo starting with 1.0 and up. You can get it over at devsforandroid.com It's really smooth has some nice animations the GPS worked perfect for me. The only issue I had was sending MMS but you can replace the Samsung app with the stock Android one or just download something like ChompSMS on the Market. Oh and the dev Master threw in a bunch of extra wallpapers and sounds. And pretty damn good battery life, full day anyway.
try macnut 14 final
with i/o kernel from eugene
smooth stable fast and good looking....
Hey everyone. Just a quick question. I'm looking to update my girlfriend's phone from evil eris 3.0, and I'm hoping you can recommend the best performing, most stable rom/ kernel combination that includes the sense ui. Thanks in advance.

None of them are very supported right now what with GB and Froyo being the flavors most sought after, but you can't go wrong with Tenzo's xtrRCmix or zach's xtrSense, either one is easily stable enough to be used as a daily from now till Armageddon, well either that or until someone actually finds a way to make a stable Sense 2.2 ROM.
I use xtrSENSE, and I put it on my girlfriend's phone as well. I love it. She loves it. It's very fast, and very stable. You wont be disappointed.
Awesome. Thanks guys!
Will i need to flash a kernel as well?

For xtrSENSE, xtrRCMix, either of the PlainJanes - no, you will not.

Nope, everything you need is in the Rom. It's got a few interesting extra bits included, configures memory more efficiently, has scripts to remove crap like the peep and stocks apps, and over- and underclocks by default to 710/245 Mhz.
Really very nice and complete.

You don't have too, but I promise you that you will have better battery life with Conap's V9 and it will more than likely run smoother as well.
Hey im considering flashing this as my first rom, but cant seem to find too definitely what does/doesn't work on this particular rom. Other than the list on the main post in dev section but i mean like bug wise is there anything major that has issues or isn't working at this moment? Other than the force close dialer(can you still make/receive calls??) is there any other things i should know before i flash this? Im currently stock rom/kernel just rooted. Just dont want to spend all the time flashing it and unlocking my bootloader to find out that the rom has serious issues that makes it unuseable for me. Im not too sure how you guys are about noobs/stupid questions posting in the dev section, so i just assumed that this is better suited for the Q&A. And correct me if im wrong, as im not quite positive, but i should be able to flash the cm7 rom and then the 1.3 OC kernel as well and have them both running? Is there one i need to flash before the other or how does that work?
This wouldnt be the rom to flash as it is still in alpha so it wont connect to any towers has bad battery life no dialer period. I would suggest flashing Jokers skinny rom for now its the most up to date and is running smooth for me

you can try alien rom .I had it running smoothly until i bricked my photon
I'm considering the homebase or alien, but they aren't running the latest OTA. What is the difference that the latest OTA did? i see no difference running stock rom.. And can anyone vouch to how the battery life is on roms as opposed to stock? Specifically one of the photon ones. Thanks for responses guys
The latest ota has many bug fixes and moto changed alot of their blur apps, which have made the phone faster. Homebase and alien are great but not up to date. I have a non stock rom called skinny which is made from the latest. In the end its up to you. My suggestion is to flash all three with no less than 24 hours on each to get a feel for it. Please keep in mind you wont be able to judge battery life this way

Go with Joker, that's just my two cents. Battery life is slight better from Joker to Home Base. Alien was okay, but Home Base had more tweaks then Alien. Then Joker has more stuff and is on the latest OTA from sprint, so that's what I'd personally suggest, plus it's the one I'm running.
I'm enjoying Joker's skinny Rom...it's current, and fast.

Wonder why CM7 was built on 2.3.4 as opposed to 2.3.5, anyone know?
If you check version, it's actually 2.3.7

He's talking about kernel from 2.3.4 correct?
it's because 2.3.5 is not an "official" update. It was never a fiNished product and was never OTA pushed to our phones.

You're right Ash, the kernel. Sorry for not clarifying.
Does it have to be available OTA'd somehow for CM7? Guess my question stems knowing Eclipse is 2.3.5, so wonder why not CM7.

It was just the devs (dzk) decision to use an "official" Android version, 2.3.4 was/is a "final product" "approved"(and I use those terms very loosely lol) for the x2, 2.3.5 was never made final so there are still some "little kinks" (for instance some people seem to have wifi issues on 2.3.5, there is also 3 or 4 versions of 2.3.5 floating around, which can make it a little confusing on which one should be used)
In the end, only Dragonz knows why he chose 2.3.4 for three kernel base

And in the end, who cares. Works, works well. Just kicking around the idea of Eclipse 2.04 and know that an SBF is in order to get there and that got me wondering.
Hey guys, I've been looking at updating my kernel if it was necessary.
Basically, here's my current information about my phone:
Kernel version: 2.6.32.39-MB860-CM7-g54722f1 [email protected]#4
Mod version: CyanogenMod-7.1.0.Ba2tF-Olympus
I'm would like to update the Kernel on my phone. I wasn't sure if I could just pick up any Kernel out there for the Atrix 4G. I wasn't sure if it was dependent on what Mod version you were running etc.
If someone can let me know it's ok to pick up any kernel that would work for atrix 4g or if it was dependent on the mod version and suggest any kernel that has worked for you and any others that you recommend not using.
I have updated roms but restored back because it once in a while during the day and sometimes in use would reboot...some people that I have read on the forum indicated to update the kernel would/might resolve the issue. So your suggestions and recommendation is highly appreciated. Thank you.
You can flash any of the kernels developed for CM7.
I would recommend any of fauxs kernels depending on whether or not you use OC. He has kernels ranging from 1Ghz to 1.45Ghz. All of the have been stable for me with good battery life.

Honestly ur best bet would be just to update to the newest cm7 nightley your on a really old version and kissing out on some good updates the kernel that vo.es with it is really nice or at least upgrade to the rc1 but i will also agree with the faux kernels i use the 1.45 overclock with out ant issues and live it

Agreed. Get off Ba2tF. It's not any more stable than the release candidates, in fact it is probably significantly less so. Also, tons of important updates have been made to the kernel and just about everything else.
