Hi everybody,
I had the CM7 v15 Android 2.3.3 on my X10 Mini Pro but i wanted the 2.3.4 and i installed the CM7 2.0.4 for X10 Mini not X10 Mini Pro and i bugged all my cell phone.
I cant use TouchScreen, I Cant Reboot, i just can ShutDown and When i Turn This On Again i can load xRecovery what can i do to unbrick???
The best option was a Hard Reset but i tryed i shutdowned the X10 Mini Pro and i pressed "Back Button + Turn On Button (to reboot the cellphone or to turn on)" and nothing happens just loads the CM7.
If i need to use FlashTool please gime the link of the Downloads for the right FlashTool and the Drivers for my X10 Mini Pro from Portugal European, and the tutorial link please, and teach me how to turn on the cell phone via usb to the PC because no Devices are detected coz i cant use touch screen to activate this it just charges the phone.
Just Help Me guys i just have the phone for one day o-o!
If someone portuguese can help me please send me your e-mail via PM!!!
I found the answer for my problem. Ill make something like a tutorial now:
To unbrick:
-Download the Update Service.
-Acept the Agreements (sorry bad english i think i failed but u know)
-Choose Your Phone (in my case and probably in ur X10 Mini Pro)
-Now, Turn Off you Cell Phone.
-Put your battery Off
-Plug the usb cable in your cell phone
-Now Plug the USB in Your PC
-Now press the back button (in the programs he says volume down but its back button)
-And with the button pressed put the battery in again.
-When the program says to stop press the button u need to stop.
-Now let the program do his job.
Sorry for bad english and this is all.
Tips for xRecovery and Root X10 Mini Pro:
-You need to use a specific RootExplorer (i uploaded it for you: mediafire(dot)com(bar)?87zjj86mj6td603)
-In this specific RootExplorer to move the 3 xRecovery Files u need to Mount C/W or CW and now you are able to move this.
This is were my fails so now are my tips.
Hope Helped You and Enjoy this, Sorry For bad English

Whats the best ROM At the moment? Im with CM7 v15 Android 2.3.3 is it the best??
It cannot be bricked... it can only.. transform.
If something goes wrong for me, i use Flashtool. I downloaded the original SE rom, and it can flash + root + xrecovery + clean in a couple of minutes.
very VERY easy to use
the topic name made me worried before I entered
SE update services is the first things I installed after bought the X10 mini pro,and in the first time I tried to install the new rom I have to use SEUS to recover the phone

"Best" is in the eye of the user (as usual) but my personal experience (which is just from a mere 1 months time of tampering with the phone) seems to be leaning towards CyanoComb 1.4 and the new 2.3.x ROMs that are still under development.
So far I've had some issues with the newer ones, although most of the ROMs that D4rkn3sSyS (sp?) has been working on seems stable.
The list of ROMs I've tried and comments about them :
- CyanoComb v1.4
Stable, well suited for more "active" use, has so far not been a major issue in generic use, some "Force Closed" applications has occured but that is most probably due to my own stupidity (not cleaning caches etc). Seems to be "the better choice" for me.
- FroyoBread
Still heavily under development, nice to work with, but due to the amount of hotfixes and (imho) messy development feedbacks from the ROM developer(s), it's starting to annoy me as such (the radio-application and camera were a bit shaky untill I managed to pull the correct package-files hidden well inside the threads for it). Also gave me some headaches when flashing (again, might be due to my "newbieness").
- Andread
Tried it for a brief moment, I really didn't want an SE-style phone again, so... Your mileage may vary if you like having it SE-styled.
- SonyBread
Seemed nice, but as with Andread, it kind of grew on me for some reason.
- MiniCM6 / MiniCM7 etc
The CyanogenMod variations were rather nice, but again, certain elements (can't remember which, I've tried almost all of them) made me revert back to CyanoComb.
- FroyoComb
Same as with CyanoComb, it's decent and well sorted, though as always some issues might exist.
Basically, some ROMS have/had market-issues, some just have/had too much extras in them to my liking, some crashed on the messaging-apps, or were simply missing camerasupport etc etc. Finding a balance on this isn't always easy, and that is why I test out ROMS to find one that I enjoy working with (and using).
As usual, this is just a single users point of view, and I would actually advice you to take your time and just load your SD_card with a few, have the SEUS-software installed, and try finding your way through the jungle.

No.
Current 2.3.5 ROMs for Mini Pro are:
Cyanogen MiniCM7 Pro
GingerDX
SEUS is always my first and only method of fixing a bricked SE. It removes anytrace of there being any mods on there too which is handy if you need to send it back 0
flash the original software.

Hi Guys,
I'm a troubled owner of a bricked Xperia X10i. I have tried searching on the forum for solutions but nothing seems to work
Here's the basic info for my x10:
Model:

2.2.1
baseband version:
2.1.54
kernel version:
2.6.29

Here is how it happened:
The phone has root from the z4 one click root downloaded from market. I've also installed busybox 1.17 and xRecovery 0.3 on the phone. All these have been working fine with another froyo custom rom I've been using.
I saw a new build of another froyo rom, and decided to give it a try:
[ROM] CM 6.1.3 V4.1 ready [Tweaked+Theme+Extras]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=945264
I installed the new rom following the instructions and everything seemed to be fine. I rebooted the phone for a few cycle just to make sure it is stable.
Then, i rebooted the phone and held the "Back" key to go into recovery mode again. But it did not go into recovery. It just went to boot instead, and after boot up the phone is stuck in the current Bricked condition

Things wrong with the phone now:
Phone can still turn on and off, rom can still load, and apps can still run. However Rom is suddenly very unstable and auto restarts every 1-2 minutes or so.
At start up, there's the error message: "Sorry! Process system is not Responding. Force close/wait"
Other problems:
No internet connectivity
No SD card access
The top status bar doesn't work
Auto Orientation doesn't work
Camera cannot load
and worst of all,
USB doesn't connect! Charging is fine from USB, but computer doesn't detect the phone at all

Things I've tried:
Restarting (duh! =p ) : doesn't work, even with removing batteries
Factory wipe (withing Froyo OS) : doesn't initiate
Attempt to load recovery : doesn't happen. Phone just boots up instead
Flash new rom using flash tool: Doesn't detect on computer. After power off and hold back key, plugging in causes green light to light up (Flash mode on). But computer doesn't detect.
Pull my hair out: nope, never expected that to work

any idea what can help to solve the problem? Please help!!
so far the only thing I have seen similar to my problem is the USB Brick on Desire forum. wonder if there's any link? Don't really dare to try out the Desire solution since it might cause more harm instead
I'm pretty much an idiot when it comes these things, so please be patient and explain in simple terms!>_<
Many many thanks! XD
Have you installed USB flash drivers? It's in drivers folder in FlashTool.
Don't really get what you mean sry >_<
But if it's checking whether the flash tool works, it does. I've used it to flash the 2.1 roms when my phone was still on 1.6
edit:
ooooooooooh omg I must be the biggest muppet in the world
installed the driver and now it's flashing!! hope it works!! :3
at any rate, love you bro

Hi, this community is lovely, thanks ^_^
turns out it was user error! I didn't install the flash driver of the flash tool. After installation, everything works like a charm.
Irony is after all the effort and distress, and trying out the newer roms, I am still back to using the previous froyo rom i was using before lolz.
here is the situation
the x10 is dead, when trying to turn it on nothing happens(no vibration w/ black screen)
if take the battery out and put it back and try to turn it on, the phone would vibrate a bit with black screen
the programs however do recognize the phone when plugged in
well i basiclly tried three things to try to repair it
1. SEUS-which oddly tells me that the phone is up to date but the phone is still a brick
2. PCC- which gave me err
3. Flashtool- which gave me err too(i was trying with X10i 2.1.A.435 Global Generic)
when i tried to flash the phone it told me to turn on the phone then turn on Unkonwn Sources and Debugging... which obviously i can't do
i believe this would be the 1000th time someone post thread about this problem but i have to ask for some help after spending my whole sunday afternoon trying to solve the problem by myself.
i'm on the edge of giving up so this will be my last attempt if nothing new comes up
╰( ̄▽ ̄)╮ thanks to anyone who finished reading this boring thread and if there is a suggestion feel free to post it thanks again
I think we both have the same problem, I tried flashing it to the generic 1.6 fw and I was able to revive the phone. After which I updated it to 2.1 fw, now it seems to be working fine.
maybe a physical problem?
please try to flash with flashtool and post a log

I have been visiting this site ever since I first read about X10 & was fascinated by it (I have always loved SE phones). Anyway, I have since gotten an X10i (AT&T) & have de-branded it as well as unlocking & rooting it. Here goes:
I installed Champs' Rom (x10sV9-addon) but didn't want all the clutter he had pre-installed. To make a long story short, I went back to Wolf's ROM via Xrecovery but something went wrong. I can no longer boot into Xrecovery & after SonyEricsson logo, screen goes blank, not black/blue just blank. The other problem is, since I can't see the screen, I can't turn on the USB connection so my PC/Flashtool/SEUS can recognize my device so I can fix it. This happened while trying to re-install Wolf's ROM & installing the following zip files via Xrecovery: Bravia_Xloud engine, Xperia S Player, Champ + Bar, x10_gb_stock_wifi_modules. Then I rebooted & I get the blank screen. I know it is on because I can turn the volume all the way down to vibrate. The "home" button still lights up. PLEASE, I need someone's help with this one as I am no expert, just a moderate tinkerer. ANY help/incite would be appreciated. Sorry, I can't even give you any screenshots. Can anyone out there help me out? Thanx in advance.

RE: Blank Screen After Flashing Custom ROM
Thanx for getting back to me so fast. As I said, the screen is blank. That is, the backlit display works but I can see nothing else. The "Home" button lights up when i press it but the display does nothing. If/When I reboot to try to enter XRecovery, I see the SonyEricsson logo followed by the backlit screen & nothing else. The Volume up/down buttons work as I am able to silence the phone by turning volume all the way down to vibrate. Because I cannot see what's on the display, I cannot turn USB on/off to connect to PC to run SEUS/Flashtool, etc. I.E. I cannot fix the device. Usually I just boot into XRecovery to fix a problem like this but that doesn't work.

hy, install sony update service and repair your phone, then install again custom rom, the indications how to repair your phone software is in the program.

I wish I had gotten this solution sooner. Not sure if it would have mattered. When trying to use Flashtool I kept getting an error saying my phone was not in "flash mode".
I solved my problem by flashing using Omnius & flashing firmware 'X10i_generic_SE_24_MultiTouch.rar'. This got my phone back but it was only 2.1 so I used 'DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su' to get me back to 2.3, but this is where I'm at. I had Wolf's firmware before but right now I have no xRecovery installed. I thought I had rooted my phone but xRecovery isn't installed nor is Busybox.. Any ideas? Thanx in advance...EVERYONE @ XDA-DEVELOPERS rox!

C if u can repair phone using SEUS now. Open the software without connecting phone. N then go to the update part. It should give u a repair option. Then follow those steps. Or else just connect ur phone n then start software. When it tells u ur phone is up to date click on that n then click on "repair". Then use the latest flashtool to root. Recoveries come with kernels so just flash a custom kernel.

Ur welcome i don't think u need help you just flashed a custom ROM.. the procedure for installing ICS is the same. Although it'd be better if you are on stock before installing it.. just look for an ICS ROM that u like (I'm using feralab n it works like a charm).
Get the kernel n ROM.. as usual, put the ROM zip on ur SD card, flash the kernel, install ROM from recovery
Although before installing:
1. In recovery go to mounts n storage
2. Format system data n cache
3. Mount system, data n cache (note that if the mounting is successful the options should change to unmount system, unmount data, unmount cache respectively)
4. Then install ROM
5. The installer is GUI based so it'll guide u really well through the installation

Morning everyone
i have tried to search the forums with a similar problem, but i couldnt find a solution to this.
NOTE; If there is, please provide a link to the post, i'll appreciate that.
So this is what happened :
i flashed the phone with custom rom ( MiniCM9/JB/ICS) successfully..but after finding that the camera didnt work with one of the roms ICS i think, i reverted back to the original e10i kernel.
the problem with this is that PC Companion couldnt update my phone, as it didnt recognise it, it only said SONY/SONY ERICSSON phone..apart from that, the battery seems to have died out, i tried charging it on the wall plug but it would boot up and display the SONY ERICSSON logo and after a few seconds, restart. it doesnt seem to charge the phone but rather gives it a 'boost' to boot up. it does the same thing when plugged in the laptop. Now, the baterry seems to have been depleted completely as the red led flashes while still connected in flash mode.
I expected a big battery icon to display when i charged it on the wall plug but i got the boot logo...and restarts..SEUS said i have the latest software..PC companion couldnt ''repair'' it because the battery would run out while still connected in flashmode.
Please assist me in anyway.
thanks
AGAIN : if there is a problem somewhere in the forums PLEASE direct me to it, i dont wanna cause any spam on the forums.
Thank you

Your main problem is that you still have the custom ROM although you're back on stock kernel. Try to flash this with flashtool.

Yes, your bootloader will remain unlocked, so you will be able to flash custom kernels and roms, no problem.
They are working on a fix for the camera, and the first one updated will be MiniCM9 i think, but for now MiniCM7 (or other gingerbread based roms) remains the best performing option for our phones.

Smg, i tell you, Yesterday was not my xperias day. My data bundles depleted while it had gone 80% (i think) into the download, i then recharged for another 100MB unfortunately i was using my ageing 6730c on Opera mini n the download couldnt resume! So i'd like to know, how big is the file itself because when it started, it said 114MB it reached that size and kept on going till 188MB i guess that's how much bundles i had. Anyway will try to get a wifi hotspot.
I think i'll go with the MiniCM7 for now till further development is made for these ROMS. A very big up to the developers.

Thanks for the time and energy you put in. I really appreciate it. Cant wait to get my Samsung Galaxy Gio lol i know its a bit old now but it hasn't seen the 'other side' of the grass.
First of all, I wanted to say hello since this is my first post here :victory: and also please if I am posting wrong or if this question has been answered before forgive me, but I have already searched on google and on this forum and found no related posts Ok now about my problem:
I have a "Sony Ericsson Xperia X10mini Pro" with MiniCM10-4.1.0-20130416(mimmi) and 2.6.32.60-nAa-jb-05 kernel installed. Yesterday I decided to go back to U20_nAa-14_2.6.29.6-nAa-14 kernel and MiniCM7-2.2.1-mimmi-UNOFFICIAL because of wifi problems. I have done the flashing process with flashtool a lot of times in the past and I can't be wrong with it this time.
The problem started after flashing my kernel. Flashtool flashed the U20_nAa-14_2.6.29.6-nAa-14 kernel fine and phone was OK ready to reboot, so I unplugged the USB cable to start it on recovery so I could install Minicm from SD, but since I unplugged the cable the phone is DEAD! No led and no charging! :crying: When I try to reflash it, flashtool doesn't recognize it, I am pressing the back button and plugging it in but the phone is not recognized. It is not charging when I am plugging it on the charger and its not even trying to boot. I tried different cables, different battery (from a friend with the same phone) and nothing. Is there a way to force flash it back? Please any help will be appreciated since I have tried everything I know...
This has happend to other users too reasently.
I'm not sure if it only happens when going from JB to GB or it also happens when going from GB to JB.
We need to investigate why/how it happens and how to prevent it.
I always recomend to do a battery stat whipe just before a planed kernel-flash. I had simular problem once (no charge, no boot, no nothing) after a kernel-flash. I solved it by putting in a battery from another Mimmi (my wife has the same model). For some reason everything worked fine doing so. After battery stat whipe, the phone worked with my own battery again.
Best advise for others is for now: When you want to flash new kernel, first do a SEUS/PC Companion repair
This should be written into all install-instructions and mentioned again and again to avoid same problem for others.
I'm not sure how the other users solved this. Was it only by JTAG?
Thank you for your answer! :good:
First of all, there was no battery wipe option on this release of the kernel As I said before I have done it a couple of times in the past and every time with battery wipe, except this one and besides, I already tried your solution with my friends battery with no luck... So probably I am looking for another solution.
And one last thing about your post, what is "JTAG"?? I have seen it on other posts before but without explanation as to what it is, the only JTAG I know of is on the xbox360 And if its a possible solution how can I possibly do it? Is there a post with instructions?? (I will search on my own too now, but a recommended guide from someone who knows better is much appreciated!)

I'm pretty sure he flashed the x10blrelock.ftf instead of the u20 kernel and that is why his phone went dead.
A JTAG for our phone will do basically the same thing as a JTAG for the xbox, it restores original phone-state, but you need special equipment to do it, which is quite expensive. Most repair-shops will have one.

Thank you for the answer about jtag, I also checked for myself and found about the expensive equipment and propably its not the way for me
But about the kernel I am pretty sure it was the right file...
I know that a dead phone means bad kernel but its a process that I have done before a lot of times with success on mine and other phones My best guess is that something interrupted the process (bad usb cable?) or corrupted downloaded kernel file If that's the case is there an alternative solution? :crying:

Usually, whatever you flash, even if it goes bad, flashmode is still available because that doesn't get tampered with, the only true hardbrick i've ever seen is when flashing that x10blrelock.ftf, which happens quite a lot lately.
Just for fun i even formatted my entire phone once, no kernel, no rom, completely empty, and flashmode was still there so it could be recovered.
I noticed that in some older versions of flashtool you sometimes had to click the kernel you wanted twice in order to get it to pick up the right one. Normally there's not much difference you can spot (most .ftf's just contain a loader and a kernel), but i had full SE firmware in .ftf format, which contained other sections too, and that's where i noticed it didn't always pick it up right at the first time of clicking.

I just had a look online for prices in my country, it seems to be around €25.

SmG67 thank you again and I will delete x10blrelock.ftf just in case....
hi guys, i have the same problem too, when my rom is minicm10 and my kernel is jb-naa-05, i want to go back to MiniCM7 because of green screen camera in MiniCM10 so i go back to MiniCM7, I flashed the right kernel e10-2.6.29.6-naa-14 for my x10 mini via flashtool and after i flash the kernel, my phone does not booting up(5 mins no booting up) so i decided to use seus but seus does not recognize my x10 mini, i try flashtool, but flashtool is not recognize my x10 mini so i tried to flash my created stock 2.1.ftf(thanks to leajian) and selected x10 mini from device selection(my x10 mini is not recognize in flashtool), then i wait until it finish, when i tried to open my phone, it boots up and show sony ericsson logo and it boots up(sucess!!!)...
sorry for my english...
so for all MiniCM10 Users, Dont try to go back to MiniCM7 If your Rom is MiniCM10 because it will cause your phone to not booting up like my problem.

If you follow nAa's instructions properly, there is no problem.
What you have to do:
Wipe data/factory reset in CWM on the JB-kernel
Flash the GB-kernel
Format /system, /data en /cache, so they get back to the original sizes
Flash the GB-ROM, or restore a previous GB-backup you may have had
No problems at all...
And your phone still had flashmode available, unlike the OP of this thread, so you don't have the 'same' problem
