rooting does not increase speed of ur phone.
You need some tweaks. Modding in firmware and system files. You can search in forum for tweaks and it's very easy to setup.
But I don't know what devs've done in system files and firmware. If we know, we can do it ourself.
already a thread for this in General, perhaps we can merge?

we can also find some tweaks and changes over 2.3 in typics so all we must to do is collecting them together(sorry for my bad English )

I agree, this was a "young" thread and so the tweaks mentioned are not explained thoroughly. Hopefully Doom will get some time to update the "how-to everything" guide that became so pivotal in adjusting 2.1 X10

This is ONLY for testing proposes and i WON`T be responsible if you didn`t backup first!!!
note: This is a MOD from kifno that i`ve change to work on X10.
Here`s 2 zip files to install through xRecovery. This should work on any rom/mod (i`ve tested on my [Cyanogen6.1.3]gingerbread[v01] and on Jerpelea Gingerbread v10a) so if you want to try, do
If you test this use it AT LEAST for 2/3 days to check if it really works. Thks
WTF is this?!
Well...
Basically this will "mess" with your build.prop file, vm, lib files, network, memory, etc, etc, etc.
Working on ROM/MOD
[Cyanogen6.1.3]gingerbread[v01]
Cyanogen CM7.0 RC2 v010 Gingerbread 2.3.3
[ROM] CM 6.1.3 V4.5.7 with Camcorder [19-03-11] [Tweaked+Theme+Extras]
Stock SE rom - Should work on every one of them
Procedures
1. Backup your current ROM/MOD
2. Copy the desired zip file to your SDCARD
3. Reboot and enter on xRecovery
4. Go to advanced optons and Fix permissions (thks to cjsabaki for this one)
4. Search your copied zip file and install it
5. Reboot.

I think it fails, because it wants to extract a dir called "system" from package, but there is no such dir, only 'lib', 'META-INF' and 'tmp'
btw, is this correct:
Code:
[...]
[U][B]bp[/B][/U]="/system/build.prop"
[...]
for mod in dfmod memory misc network;
do
eval COUNT=`[U][B]$bb[/B][/U] expr "$COUNT" + "1"`
mod${COUNT}
for prop in `cat /tmp/$mod`;do
export newprop=$(echo ${prop} | cut -d '=' -f1)
sed -i "/${newprop}/d" /system/build.prop
echo $prop >> /system/build.prop
done
done

My quadrant has gone up, it now varies between 1450-1750 using wb's 6.1.3v4.5.7 loaded with apps. Pretty noticable, but quadrant scores have no real bearing on usability. As before, unable to flash the battery zip, which would be of more use tbh, but thanks. Are you going to give us a clue as to what's being implemented, i.e. along the same lines as sysctl values or spare parts tuning?

I reboot again and let my phone alone for a while. Now it work great with me.Thanks for you great work. But the battery change stil failed
Created myself a flashable build.prop script, that I thought I would share. This script will take your phone to the extreme, and make it feel like new. Everything is faster, even web browsing. Also, some minor battery tweaks are included, that might allow you to see some increase in battery life.
The script will add various tweaks I have found scouring the interwebs. Most of the tweaks can be found here.
Some developers may have already added these tweaks into their roms, but I haven't seen a rom that had them all. The script will not duplicate any lines in the build.prop file to avoid confusion/issues.
**Please note: testing is limited, as I have only ran this using Amon Ra recovery.
That said, a backup of the build.prop file will be created in the "/system/" directory called "build.prop.old". If you have any issues, you can always revert back with a simple adb command or using root explorer app.
**This should work on any rom that has busybox
**v2+ can be flashed over v1, it will not overwrite your original build.prop(.old)
**might have to turn off data then turn back on after flashing v2
**init.d script will worrk on any rom/kernel that has init.d scripting enabled
PRO's (may be different, on a per rom basis)
- overall smoothness of launcher (sense, nova, golauncher, etc.)
- faster internet speeds (speedtest.net app)
- better touch response (this was downgraded in v2 because of battery life complaints, but I set mine - back up (see changelog, post 2))
- faster application load times ("where's my water" takes about 1/10th of load time for me than prior to tweaks)
CON's (may be different, on a per rom basis)
- system may be unresponsive for GB rom users (remove the line "video.accelerate.hw=1" from the system/build.prop file [near the end of file])
Disclaimer:
As always, use at your own risk. I am not responsible for anything that might happen to your phone.
Requirements before install:
- Must be rooted (99.9% of roms allow root access)
- Rom must have busybox (already installed on 99.9% of roms)
Installation
- download zip onto phone
- reboot into recovery
- (do not wipe anything! this is not a rom!)
- flash the zip
- reboot
- ????
- profit!
If you have any additional tweaks, or if you see I have some settings incorrect please let me know! I'm always trying to take my phone to the extreme!
Un-Installation
- use root explorer:
- go to "/system/" folder
- delete "build.prop"
- rename "build.prop.old" to "build.prop"
- reboot
Change log:
v4 (8/25) -
- modified net settings for faster speeds
- enabled swap and swap management
- added extra sysctl tweaks
- included tbp_fix code
- more
tbp_fix.zip
Run this after flashing turbo prop (no need to run for v4+), if your minfree settings are being overwritten. See this post.
v3 (6/19) -
- modified max events to 200
- added init.d script for more tweaks (your rom/kernel must support init.d)
v2 (6/2) -
- added 4g network tweaks
- modified "windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec" to 150 (try to save some battery life)
this change might reduce performance a little, if you want you can modify the value back to 240
v1 (6/1) -
- initial

modify's phone settings for performance gains... if you want to learn more, google "build.prop tweaks", or view this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1227269
Ok, so you have somehow upgraded your phone to Sony’s Ice Cream Sandwich, and now you are shocked at the lag of your phone. Listed below are steps you should do to improve your ICS experience, and hopefully feel less jealous of your friend’s (insert name of high-end android model).
Note: This guide is written specifically for Xperia Neo V, but should work on Xperia Neo, Arc/S etc. provided you install the correct kernels for your device.
1. Root your phone and install Clockwork Mod Recovery.
There are two ways to do this, locked and unlocked bootloader.
Locked bootloader:
Please refer to these threads for more info.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601038
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1364509
I might not be able to help as my bootloader is unlocked, but I will try.
Unlocked bootloader
For unlocked bootloader, you should flash a custom kernel for more benefits.
Install fastboot and all the other drivers if you have not already
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24457419&postcount=1
Place the following file on your SD card.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1090931&d=1338234349
Find a kernel with clockwork mod recovery preinstalled. Here are some recommendations.
Suave kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1708532
XNeo kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1704268
Night elf kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1566871
To flash the kernel, rename the .img file to boot.img and place it into the fastboot folder. Plug your phone in to the USB while holding the menu button. The LED should turn blue. Open cmd.exe, type “cd” followed by dragging your fastboot folder in the cmd. After that, type “fastboot flash boot boot.img” Restart the phone and continuously press the volume down button
2. Remove bloatware.
Auto remove with this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26538965 Thank ThilinaC for this!
Manual removal: Install Titanium Backup from the Play Store. Start by removing the useless stuff (Wisepilot etc.) After that, if you are feeling a bit adventurous, you can check out this thread for removing more stuff
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19772266&postcount=1
3. Overclock your CPU. (only for unlocked bootloaders)
This is pretty self-explanatory. Just install a cpu tuner app such as No frills, setcpu, SetXperia. It is generally safe to overclock to around 1.4Ghz.
4. Build.prop tweaks
This is where the stuff gets interesting. Use an app such as root explorer and navigate to /system and edit the build.prop. Add the following lines to the bottom of the file.
windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec=150
persist.adb.notify=0
debug.sf.hw=1
debug.performance.tuning=1
video.accelerate.hw=1
Full list available HERE Thank the OP.:good:
After editing, restart your phone and your phone will speed up eventually.
5. Remove CPU rendering
Navigate to system/lib/egl and edit egl.cfg file. Remove the first line. After that delete libGLES_android.so Restart and wait.
6. Install the v6 supercharger (thanks Pandemic for the PM)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1704268
7. Get a copy of the Xperia Sola home, along with other Sola apps. They are way faster than the crappy stuff in the 2011 devices. Available HERE.
8. Install the newest JB Adreno drivers HERE
9. (OPTIONAL) Install the Xperia S Walkman, its faster than the V version lol. (credits go to ThilinaC)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26739806&postcount=1
Games work perfectly fine on my phone. Some random lags on temple run but not FIFA 12.
Why stock rom? Because the rom is actually quite well optimised and doesn't suffer from mulitouch problems. And the Xperia S Walkman is great:victory:
Suggestions are welcome so that we can all improve this thread.:highfive:
Reserved for future use
I didn't miss anything for tweaking my phone,

The persist code is for removing the usb debugging notification when you plug in a usb. Window max events per sec is for improving scrolling speed and the others are for hardware acceleration/gpu.

Thanks for the Xperia S home tip. But I am slightly confused over Enable GPU rendering. Doesn't remove cpu rendering do the same job, or do you mean the force gpu option in developer options.
just asking out of curiosity, doesn't debug.sf.hw=1 enable rendering ui with gpu ? so whats the point editing egl.cfg file ?
or am I wrong?

PMed and no reply, guess it's not possible
Nice from you that you wrote all this, but all this is pretty much standard procedure for any fw, not just ICS.
And why point 6 is on the list, Xperia S walkman? That's kinda down to each person opinion, right?
Also:
Misc. If you upgraded from gingerbread using the official way, make a backup with CWM and make a complete restore. Of course, you have to apply these tweaks again but your device will be faster.
Click to collapse
If you make CWM right after that update and restore it, you won't gain anything(like speed), (possible)stuff from GB will still be in that backup.
If you update, and old stuff is left over from GB, then do repair(with PCC/SEUS), and then you can make CWM backup of clean ICS, but no need to restore it.
And you won't need to reapply tweaks if you do them before CWM backup, after restore, they will also be restored

I can only change system files using twrp
@hooooossamq I had some problems due to my phone being another model (SM-A205G), luckily I had a backup from the original file to restore. In this case I cannot vote =)

Why you can't change els system?
I make the vote to know if its work with all galaxy a20 .and if any one have any idea and edite the numbers of this build.prop file to make it better it will be great.but must be tested by the editor before sharing it here.
good luck for all...
@hooooossamq I got a bootloop for the first time I installed and then I restored the original build.prop and that didn't solve the problem, in the end I have to flash the whole firmware again. It's not your fault though. I guess the problem was caused by our phones being different, my bootloader is 5, yours is 6, my model is SM-A205G and yours is the F variant
