when you first turn on your phone and its that intense white background and says htc in green... are there replacement splashes available?
the white is just way too bright(especially at night)
[EDIT]: search function on these forums doesnt work in Dolphin HD for some reason though i did a google search for "thunderbolt splash screen" and found quite a few.
There is a way to do that but you'll need to do some file magic with something like root explorer. A far less technical way would be to do what I did, and flash a das BAMF Rom with one of their super whamodyne tool kits. I did that once and it carried over to all other Roms I've flashed since. I believe Liquid has a tool kit that can do the same also. Hope that helps.

How about posting some screens for various applications?
right away sir
Thanks for posting the screens.
I guess it's a personal thing, but I prefer to view the device in 128dpi, with wktask, with a 3D glassy top and bottom bar, with both date and time on the taskbar of every screen, just to list some of the main things I would tailor.
Hey, whatever appeal to you, enjoy your device
U can always customize the view and 128dpi can be installed
i'm confused with your screenshots.
are simply qvga, non?

I love changing the color of my theme every now and then. One of the quickest ways of to use tweaks2k2. It gives you the 3d glassy look. Depending on my mood, I like to switch between blue, green, black, etc. Be very careful though when you use tweak2k2. Don't let it trigger any soft reset(always use stylus into the hole method) or else you may be stuck on primary splash and you'll be forced to hard reset.
thanx for the info and warning. i do too. currently running 192dpi, snapvue, and snavue tsk on my rom. will probably go back to setup u see in dual screenies when i get realvga cooked back into rom im currently running.
Does this rom contain the latest Opera? That's the only reason I see to upgrade to this. Font size looks like it does when you change the screen settings to a smaller font on the 'screen' menu. I assume you can change the pink theme with the windows standard.
some clarrification
the opera version is build 8.65(2627)
the rom is overall very fast
the text resolution is vga like and we can get rid of the cuteiii pink colour.
the ap3 dual rom is superior in many aspects but this rom is good for all those who want a clean rom without any addons.
hey powell can u please post a lite addition of your touch dual rom it would be great
perhaps I also forgot to mention that this rom solves the micro drive issue in ameo.
Powell can u please give add ons seperately.
Leoni,
Why not try out this Opera and see if you like it better?

Ok, ive begun testing this ROM Eaglesteve and here are my observations thus far:
Opera is identical to the others, although a nice resolution mod has been done with the url bar, making it smaller and neater than the versions seen in other ROMS. there is no immediate reference to 'opera' within the application in that it is referred to as 'web n walk' in the start menu, and the homepage is www.t-mobilefavourites.co.uk. for those wishing to use t-mobile's tv service this functionality is now restored for wm6.
on the whole i feel that the download and render time with this version of Opera is the slowest i've seen. there is no flash support and this is NOT the latest Opera build (or anywhere near). this indicates that HTC have a limited deal with Opera which does not include the more recent version - no free upgrade then.
I found both browsers to be unusually slow, even after various tweaks.
T-mobile have removed Windows Live from this ROM.
They have included (the completely pointless) F-Secure Antivirus, which annoyingly pops up an installation window upon every soft reset.
The 'H'SDPA icon is not enables by default for some unknown reason. this is surely a step backwards from the old T-Mobile ROM.
t-mobile sounds are preset by default. they are horrendous.
some of the 'band' settings have been removed in line with what's available in western europe.
dialpad is a modified pink|grey, as is the comms screen.
there is a t-mobile home plugin similar to htc's, but with 'web n walk' last dialled, file explorer and SIM manager.
this ROM seems more sluggish than touch dual overall, and is missing a great deal of decent features that id gotten used to with Touch.
will try a hard reset with no installed t-mobile CABs and report back
Thanks for the quick feedback.
You mentioned that the address bar is smaller. This is interesting. Could you post a screen shot on that?

sorry eaglesteve i dont have the screenshot utility that comes with touch, otherwise id send you a screenshot.
update though: this ROM is an absolute dog. it's slooooow, web pages dont load up very fast and for the first time in ages im getting the "this page cannot be found" dialogue in p.i.e. on random occasions. ive also had opera randomly shut down on me twice.
can someone else try this ROM and tell me im not mistaken? the only apps ive installed are wktask, fingertouch and htc home
so far i can't believe t-mobile have unleashed a pile of crap like this on the public. its bad enough that they make their handsets look so rubbish.
one last set of points to t-mobile:
we DONT need antivirus. really.
we DONT need to be asked if we're sure we want to go online/sure we want to close the browser.
we dont like pink today screens and phones with pink bits on them
we DO want you to employ Pawel and the team to develop decent ROMs in future.
Is this ROM the standard WM6 ROM provided by T Mobile to work on the Ameo? The quality is very different from those provided by Dopod.
Just switched back to the Touch Dual ROM.
I encourage anyone Interested in it to avoid this ROM at all costs except for warranty purposes. Glitchy, slow, overbranded, RUBBISH.
YUK.

lol nice.
to the poster asking about vanilla: i could remove everything except pk programs 3.0(task manager+regedit and screenshot app) and leave in tsk, welcomhead, and all the reg edits i have done BUT the available space on the device with or without dual will remain the same.
its not worth it.
use file explorer and go into windows/start menu/programs and removed whatever u dont use. it will clean up the program's folder and u can go ahead and do same with system folder.
it will look clean that way and if u decide u want to use a app that i cooked in you just add shorcut back in. also for battery/qwerty menu just go ahead and remove the shortcuts for those from windows/startup and those are gone.
switch to a different tsk like says windows mobile default and u look vanilla. for say the control panel apps just ignore or remove from windows folder.
Ur rom looks vanilla and it will have same space as a vanilla rom. also u can go ahead after the black tsk is displayed and soft reset device to not install extended rom stuff and reduce apps installed.
@leoni
T Mobile has put its customisations, so if u check opera, the proxy is enabled.
If u remove the proxy all work well.
Results are better, when one flashes only OS.nb converted to NBH and use, so u do not have any T Mobile Crap installed
Hi, wonder if anyone can help, ive installed duttys dialer skin (which is great by the way) but the issue i have is when i dial the number and it is connecting the text is all in black, which is difficult to read, how can i change this too white ?
Ive tried using the UI tweaker, even changing entries in the reg but nothing seems to work. I sure i read something regarding this a while a go, but for the life of me i cant find it agian...
thanks
taz
I had exactly the same problem... I think it must have been a glitch when dumping the dialler to a .CAB.
I tried using Schap's Advanced Config (search for it) to disable *all* dialler skins, which reset mine back to the Windows Mobile dialler, which uses bold white text on a grey gradient. Looks a bit iPhone too.
I got fed up with that, though, and got the real deal - I flashed my phone to the HTC Asia 1.31.707.09 ROM. This gave me the original HTC dialler, which uses white text on the same gradient (the buttons are easier to read, too).
I'll admit that was perhaps a little extreme, though.
Yeh I had that problem.
Just backup your current ROM in case of warranty issues and flash something like Tom's ROM or and official HTC Rom. They're quicker than the stock ROMs anyway.
XDA Developers - You are AWESOME and I want to THANK YOU for everything you are doing!!!
I have enjoyed doing MODs of my GTAB and have followed you, the developers here, for getting the Gingerbread Version v2.3 loaded without issue. Yes it was a process, but I followed your advice and got it done without bricking my GTAB!
I was pleasantly surprised that it kept all of my Market Purchases. However, a few things have come up and wanted to ask if someone would answer my questions?
1. In TnT Lite I could set the Browser to be viewed as a standard Web Page or for use on a TABLET. I like the TABLET setting better than a standard web page.
I use "Google Toolbox" for my email and in tablet mode it has a left window frame for messages and a right frame for viewing the message. It is perfect for use on this GTAB.
In the standard web view, it only shows a list of messages frame. I like the TABLET option and cannot now change the settings on this v2.3.
Is there a way to have a gear on the web browser to allow us to select which options we like, for example, which view we want? Or is there another method for me to make this change?
2. In TNT Lite I liked having the options of a "home, back and a Line" from the side of the GTAB listed on the status bar. In using this new Gingerbread v2.3, I can only use the ones on the side of the tablet because they are not on the status bar.
At night, when it is dark, it is nice to have those buttons on the top row of the status bar.
Is there a way to put the side button's onto the status bar?
Thanks Again!

First off, I have to include the fact that I'm a complete Android noob. I've been learning a bit of the terms since I got my Atrix 4G about 2 months ago.
I've managed to figure out how to root and flash ROMs onto the device and have been looking around for an answer to this one and can't find a successful answer anywhere.
I'm running CM7 and was wondering if there's any way to include flying window animations. Not just on the homescreen or in the launcher, but such as whenever you touch something and it shows a popup box, it flys in from the corner, instead of just zooming in. What's the point of having an amazingly fast phone and not taking advantage of it?
http://uot.dakra.lt/
have a look there. you can upload files to it, customize it, then flash the file it spits out
Hi all,
I'm kind of in the final steps of customizing my tablet at this point. I've unlocked bootloader, rooted, all that fun-ness. Now, I want go to the next level of customizations and tweak them even more to my liking. That being said, I've got a couple of questions.
1) Kernels: What are they, and where can I find them? I've googled for TF300T kernels but I don't find enough information that would make me comfortable flashing them and whatnot. Are there any benefits to custom kernels? Can I un-do any customizations I make to my kernel in case I don't like it/something goes wrong?
2) I saw a member who posted his TF300T screens with different backgrounds for each home screen, and I'm wondering if that has to be done with a certain type of launcher or if I can accomplish that with my GOLauncherHD?
3) Is it appropriate to post .apk files for others' to download, or are there certain rules/restrictions in place (just like one wouldn't post Windows software up for download that wasn't free)
Thanks,
Opethfan89
Have Fun.

1. Try flashing some of the custom roms under developemente page for tf300, there are some jelly bean roms but i would highly recommend seanz hydro-ponic since the jelly bean roms might still have some buggs. (Seanz Rom is awesome btw) You can find instructions on how to do it in his forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1750861 . Also watch some of the videos by Allaboutandroids here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663244 he can resolve many of your issues and give you step by step instructions. **DONT DO THIS UNLESS YOU DONT MIND VOIDING YOUR WARRANTY, IF YOU BRICK YOUR TABLET ITS ON YOU** very easy process any way, and fun. Just make sure to follow the proper instructions.
2. There is an app that can change the picture for each home screen, there is no need to change launchers just download off the market free MultiPicture Live Wallpaper and under its options you can find "add individual settings" select a screen and add an inidvidiual screen for screen 1, 2 ,3 and so on, as many as you want. Also it gives you plenty of choices when it comes to the types of transitions, highly recommended app, goes well with Simple text widgets.
3. Make sure the software you are putting up is a developers app that has given you permissions, if it is in the market then its better if you give the market link. Dont put anything illegal up, pirated software and such.
Hope this helped. :good:

Thanks. I have been experimenting with flashing ROM's and so I have a better idea of what is out there. But I still haven't found any custom KERNELS, like I see peoples' signatures on these forums with "running <blah> custom build.prop" or "running XXX custom kernel". How can I get more info on kernels? or is the custom kernel going to be part of the ROM?
And to clarify #3, I meant being able to post like the Asus stock widgets that come on the TF300T and a guide to getting them to work.....I really like the weather widget, SuperNote, and Polaris Office but I haven't been able to find any guides detailing how to install the stock widgets.
I also downloaded the multilive wallpaper app but I can't find its settings menu. Got any advice?
-O
I dont know that much about custom kernels, sometimes people will put up wifi fix, or gps fix, so on that you flash into the kernel but not really an expert.
Also, concerning the multilive picture wallpaper app, at first i couldn't find the settings either, what I would do is go into play store and open it thru there, but looking thou my widgets i found multilive picture widget, but its not really widget its a regular icon, so i just put it on the desktop and launch it from there.
Hope this helped.
The custom kernels are coming, this device is still relatively new barely 4 months and already has an unlocked bootloader, some very slick roms (Scott's Clean Rom and HYDRO(PONIC)) and almost bugfree JellyBean roms. Thats mighty impressive considering some devices dont even have an unlocked bootloader. The developer who created the HYDRO PONIC Rom (Sean Z) is working on a kernel atm..we all just gotta be patient.
