First off, I have to include the fact that I'm a complete Android noob. I've been learning a bit of the terms since I got my Atrix 4G about 2 months ago.
I've managed to figure out how to root and flash ROMs onto the device and have been looking around for an answer to this one and can't find a successful answer anywhere.
I'm running CM7 and was wondering if there's any way to include flying window animations. Not just on the homescreen or in the launcher, but such as whenever you touch something and it shows a popup box, it flys in from the corner, instead of just zooming in. What's the point of having an amazingly fast phone and not taking advantage of it?

have a look there. you can upload files to it, customize it, then flash the file it spits out

Arranging Icons on the desktop (or whatever the main window is called, sorry, I'm a 'droid rookie) isnt very user friendly. With my iPhone, if I wanted to move an app to a different location, the rest of the icons would get pushed out of the way. Last night, I did something and I was able to get the same results. Today, it's back to not pushing the icons. I'm guessing there is a setting that enables this but I cant seem to find. I did install a myriad of apps last night so maybe one of those enables that functionality?

It's the MotoBlur that allows you to "push" other icons/widgets out of the way because I believe stock Android just wouldn't let you put it somewhere occupied. Are you using a different launcher now? That would keep it from working.

What launcher do you have? If it's the default launcher I'm pretty sure it pushes them outta the way...I'm not sure though. But I have ADW launcher and it's kind of a pain, if I want to move one widget or icon into an other ones place and there's no room, I have to move it to an empty home screen and then slide in the other one...
Oh, and no there is no setting for this...
I have the Go Launcher right now but I may have had a different one last night (I'm working on 2 hours of sleep for the last 48 period so I'm kind of a zombie right now). I just checked the wifes phone and it does push the icons. I did an sbf recovery and reinstalled gingerblur 6.5 yesterday and I think it started working AFTER I installed a launcher but I could be full of it. What that launcher may have been, I have no idea
Forgive my ignorance here. I bought the GTab from Woot solely to learn about Android and tablets, I just got my ipad2 and thats the one I planned on getting the most use out of, but honestly I thought it would be good to have an Android tablet in the house.
Of course, the default OS was painful, so I put on TNTLite and ran some apps and was pretty happy. I haven't used it much since. I am still trying to find a way to stream video to the tablet (and hopefully someday out to my TV, to retire my laptop).....and am not sure which app to use. For Ipad I can use Air Video Server.
BUT ANYWAYS...
The default portal screen on TouchNTap was, I thought, pretty cool....weather, news links and time with your apps available on the bottom row.
Tell me, is there a similar type of portal app you can use on the Gtab? Is there a way to make it just be an alarm clock or a picture frame until you pick it up and want to start using it as a tablet?
TNTLite is cool, and I installed ADWLauncher (I think that is the name), but all I am seeing is now a windows desktop-looking thing. Can you use that front-end with TNTLite? Or is it just adding widgets to a "home screen" like a clock, calendar, web browser, etc.
Thanks!
Take a look at this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=854175
If you want to alter TNT Lite to your liking, it's actually fairly straightforward - once you understand the layout.
When that firmware is run, it layers on a 100% stock image first, then I make the alterations later. You can alter either the updater-script (where the deletions are) or the /system folder (where the additions are) to tweak it to your liking. For example, if you want to keep the TNT launcher, just delete this line from the updater-script:
Code:
delete("/system/app/HomeScreen.apk");
That would add the TNT homescreen back, on the next firmware flash. This is just an example.
Sideload and Switch Home Screens to Get Back Default

You don't need a "similar" portal app unless you just want it. Just sideload (move the files from your PC to the sdcard via USB cable and then click/install the apks from the sdcard) the original HomeScreen.apk, Weather.apk, Clock.apk, and News.apk - then use the Home Switcher to switch to the Viewsonic HomeScreen - if you want that to be your default.
I've done this since TNTL 2.0 because I also like the look and the options.
Other apk's that will fit into the default HomeScreen package are GroceryList and TaskManager. MediaPlayer will also go into the Viewsonic HomeScreen.
In case you didn't back up the original VS default portal files - I've attached them.
Glad to see I'm not the only one who likes the original VS portal.
Thank you
I'm going to be messing with this to see if I can get it to work......however, I do have one question, and its off topic:
Is there any way to put the Gtab into sleep mode the way that an ipad goes to sleep, so you just tap the screen to wake it up? Or have it so that way it has a permanantly on clock display or a rotating picture frame function with clock?
I'd like to buy the dock for it, but not if I have to hold the power button to wake it up all the time, I realize its a little thing but it is somewhat an annoyance.
when you first turn on your phone and its that intense white background and says htc in green... are there replacement splashes available?
the white is just way too bright(especially at night)
[EDIT]: search function on these forums doesnt work in Dolphin HD for some reason though i did a google search for "thunderbolt splash screen" and found quite a few.
There is a way to do that but you'll need to do some file magic with something like root explorer. A far less technical way would be to do what I did, and flash a das BAMF Rom with one of their super whamodyne tool kits. I did that once and it carried over to all other Roms I've flashed since. I believe Liquid has a tool kit that can do the same also. Hope that helps.
Signature.
Or you can go here (there's several custom ones to choose from) > http://forums.androidcentral.com/thunderbolt-rooting-roms-hacks/71799-custom-splash-screen.html
I am coming from my old touch pro 2 from verizon to the rezound now. I have never messed with an android phone till now. I have much much to learn. So far I am loving this phone bigtime! One of the things I loved was having a transparent flip clock on my TP2. Is there a way to do this on the Rezound? What I want is for it to look like this.
View attachment 788126
And also have the little window behind the clock that shows the weather ,date.temperature transparent as well. Also is there a way to change all the little symbols at the top of the home screen like the 3g or 4g, the signal, the time, battery icon etc etc... I guess thats called the notification bar maybe? Can anyone help me out here or point me in the right diffection on doing this? Or is there even a way to do it? I have no idea? Thanks in advance for any replies.
once s-off is achieved it all can be done
I never had to root my old tp2 to make those changes? So in order for me to make these changes I will have to root my rezound?
well maybe not but you would have to edit the .apk files, and use adb to pull them from your device

That's probably because there's no such thing as "rooting" a windows mobile device
You best option is grabbing a different clock Like beautiful Widgets LINK
Best $3 I ever spent on an app.
If your hoping to get the stock clock transparent. It cant be done. Heres why:
1. Right now themers cant even modify sense 3.5 images.
2. Even if we could mess with them, you cant make the flip part transparent. Htc draws that clock really weird. All the numbers are actually right there on the screen, you dont see them because the flip part is hiding them. So eliminating it makes all the numbers visible at one. Quite annoying.
I know, over kill explanation but, thats how it is.
I have my first experience of this ZTE Nubia Z7 Max since October last year. I was really really happy with it for this 7 months. But lately i observe some of the bugs/shorts. Here are they:
1.When i slide the screen down as i 'm browsing the news from UC browser, i observe the fonts on the screen comes blurrer and blurrer. And it gives me a strong feeling of lags.
2.On main interface. It's supposed to drag the icon after you give it a long-time push. I open the folder(as i put a lot of icons into the folder so i need to slide the list to find what i want)and wanna find a icon. But what it shows is that i'm dragging a icon and sliding with it. Actually i'm not mean to drag it though i just want to slide the list.
3.The battery is going to lose quicker and quicker.
4.The fonts in message is getting smaller without a reason.
5.When i reboot my phone, some rooted apps ask for root again.
Is there anybody can help me out?
Thanks in advanced.
