Thx
edit: sms and phone calls work fine.
Have the same problem here in America. No answers on my thread either...
Hello
This happened to me, if you go into xrecovery and factory reset your problem will go but before you do this sync your contacts so you don't lose them and back up your data with titanium backup
already did factory reset and almost all wipes but no data still.. someone?
I made a post about this a few weeks ago and got no replies either.
I am using the latest EWJET ROM from Eric, with an unlocked bootloader and i have two questions,
1) Is it possible i have physically damaged the phone to cause this problem? (I'm guessing it cant be the rom's fault if others have same problem with standard Gingerbread OS?)
2) If i do a factory reset, will i have to go back through the process of re-installing the custom rom and unlocking the bootloader?
Here's hoping i get some reply this time...
Scotspaul674, installing custom ROM via xRecovery or CWM, and flashing via FlashTool does not influence the status of the bootloader.
After full wipe you mast reinstall custom ROM. Do not reboot, or you will lose access to xRecovery.
i solved the problem like this, i went to the data settings and i put wcdma(prefered)/gsm as my default setting, then chose the correct acces point and chose the right network operator, try doing that maybe this will solve it
Ok, so I managed to get mine working today, I really didnt fancy doing a factory reset so I tried downloading settings via settings/Sony Ericsson, and it worked
Can't believe I didn't try this before.....
Good luck to the rest of you..

It's not from the SE site, just press menu on your phone and select settings, this will bring a menu up and at the top of the next page is a Sony Ericsson option. Click this then the only option shown (I think) will be download settings, select this and hopefully you'll be sorted.
Good luck
had the same problem after updating my xperia x10 to 2.3, so what I did was go to settings, wireless & network, mobile network and click data enabled. not sure what I did but where the incoming and outgoing arrows are there is a H above them now instead of 3G. but it seams to work ok.

You've posted this thread easy enough, and obviously able to use SEUS. 1.6 or 2.1?
I was trying to update to nordic firmware but instead of clicking edit I clicked delete :S
this happened to another user here and someone suggested repairing through SEPCC, or through SEUS, but SEPCC shows a "Download Error" and SEUS says that there are no new updates
Try this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=825675
thanks ill try it, i hope it solves my problem x,x

Let us know, it should work though.
Thanks a lot!
It also updated to 2.1 :d!
It does work.. I did the same thing to my phone and did an factory reset which made the phone even worse.
The x10flasher with global 2.1 does work. It took me a few goes to get it to work but what a relief when it did. Warranty would not have covered deleting system files.

You're welcome.
like i said everything's ok, but I cant send sms or use the internet, does this have something to do with the update or how do i configure it?
You have to configure internet according to your service provider. If the message is not working, maybe you should try changing the message center number, etc.
Go to Settings, Sony Ericsson and download your provider settings. I think this must do the trick.
where can i change the message center num?
when i try to download the configuration from settings>sony ericcson nothing happens!
Also to note, my phone changed from x10a to x10i, and default.prop isnt there :S
And i still cant browse the internet, my cellphone wont connect to 3g, hspda, anything x,x

Have you downloaded your carriers settings and/or turned your data on?
My X10i is Rooted, has Android 2.2 (from Rodeiro) bandversion 2.1.54 and Kernel 2.6.29 Mod version CyanogenMOD 6.1.1-V03
Now I have the problem that i can not connect/register to a network, i can see all the networks but if i want to connect to 1, it just wont happen.
I tried a restore of an old ROM and the problem remains.
What could be the problem ? is my X10 broken ? Coul this be a radio problem ?
Please help, need my phone...
Coop,
Hello!
Is data across mobile network enabled in the phone settings?? Try turning on airplane mode for a minute, then turn it off, brings my network back!!
Best regards,
Chris
That does not seem to help.
I can see all the carriers, but if i want to connect to 1 it wont happen, this message i get :
Registering on Network.
I keep hanging on here, maybe my X10 is broken ?
When did this start?? Any changes to the phone before this happened??
Turn it off and pull the battery for about 5 minutes???

Here is what happend:
So this is my sisters phone and Im trying to fix it for her. The phone was locked when our little sister failed to open it too many times (my sister had the graphical lock enabled). My sister then took it to a phone store which managed to fix the lock (updating it from 1.6 to 2.1) but in the same process they somehow managed to make the phone block calls and text. They told her that it had "been blocked"..?
She after that she cant send or receive texts, cant make or receive calls but she can surf via 3G.
What is wrong?
Here is what I've tried:
I'm a big andriod noob since Im a iphone user but I can use google and I've jailbreaked/unlocked iphones many times.
So I've tried both to re-flash (with flash tool) the phone and to restore it with SEUS. None worked. First after using the Flash tool the phone got stucked in a boot-loop. At this points I tried SEUS but it would just get stuck and then tell me that the restore had failed. At last I managed to get back into a working phone when I went down to 1.6 using ROOT_F3V3 (I dont know if I did the whole flash procedure right but right but when it was done the phone started fine but the text and call issues persisted). So then I tried SEUS again and this time it worked so now I got a fully updated and restored phone. BUT STILL: it cant text, make or receive calls. Is there any next step? Any method which I haven't tried yet? I stumbeled upon something called xRecovery. Could that help me? Or is the phone pretty much bricked...
Please help me

Try it with a different sim card to make sure that it's not something related to the mobile account.

Go to Settings > Wireless settings stuff > mobile provider > Choose your network manually
I dont know how it's called, in english because my phone is in dutch. But somewhere there you can choose manually a network.

Changing carrier doesn't change anything for me...
Try flashing a custom rom via xrecovery there is a sticky in this section specially made for "android noobs" like you and mate no offence
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
I lose data connection when installing any 2.3.3 rom.
At first it looks like it works, it says it finds my network settings (Rogers). Then I press OK. It does some things and I get an error message saying it "Could not download settings. Retry?"
I made sure to go into Network settings and recheck that the phone is set to use 3G. It says it registers but nothing happends.
Anything able to help?
Thanks
Update: This problem also happended with DoomLord's [RECOVERY image] {v2} X10 GB 3.0.1.G.0.75 [Prerooted + Fixed xRecovery]
Update: Reinstalled stock 2.1 and works fine
Update: Installed stock 2.3.3 same problem
I really want to use 2.3.3 but I cant figure this out.
Is ANYONE able to help?
/bump Anyone know the problem?
You probably need to set up your mobile network APN manually, if automatic settings download won't work.
Will the APN settings from 2.1 be the same in 2.3.3? Can I just copy them?

Should be the same.
Download the APN Backup & Restore: http://www.multiupload.com/LIICZNCG73
I had this problem too. Here's what I did and it worked fine for me:
1. Go to settings menu
2. Click on the first menu option "Sony Ericson"
3. Click on Settings Download
A popup message will be displayed for you to select the correct settings.
After I did this, my 3G was working fine again. Hope that helps you too.
Cheers
THANK YOU BLUECHIPJ!!!!!!!!!!!! If I could give more than 1 thanks I would!!!!
Hello guys!
I ran into a problem that bugs me for already 2 days. Yesterday my girlfriend's phone (S3) received an update. She was already on 4.3 so I do not know what the update was for. What happen after the update was downloaded and installed was that she couldn't access internet using wifi anymore. Mobile data seems to work, but wifi doesn't.
I told her to try the following but nothing changed:
1.Restart the phone.
2.Forget the network and reconnect.
3.Download "Wifi fixer" (when she did this she told me she accessed google...but then nothing worked anymore)
It is weird because she can access 192.169.0.1.
She also tried to connect to another wifi and she told me same thing happend so I assume is something about the phone.
This problem really starts to bug me a lot because I tried to search for a sollution but I found nothing that could fix the problem.
I am waiting for your suggestions.
Have a nice day,
Ilie Mihai
Usual steps to try: clear cache in recovery, factory reset, flash firmware with odin.

Could you, please, guide me on how to clear the cache in recovery before I do anything else?
Thanks for your reply,
Ilie Mihai
UPDATE: Okay, I figured it out how to enter in recovery mode...I'll try that and I'll let you know if it worked.
By the way...I forgot to mention. Factory reset is not quite possible at the moment since her computer is away for some repairs and she cannot access one for a while.
I am still waiting for more suggestions.
Thank you!

Do you get an IP, DNS and default route? Does ping or any other service work?
Does she maybe use a firewall?
There are many things to try out before simply resetting the phone.
