Hi
I get this message after installing the zip file of my rom, it just stays this way(its stuck), any help?
exact same problem here...waiting for the solution, too =/
You guys need to make sure you clear your data/cache/dalvik in recovery before you flash the ROM.
It gets stuck because you probably didn't get rid of all the data in the previous ROM, so the phone can't possibly proceed.
So take the battery out, reboot the phone into recovery by holding val (the button on the way left) + volume up + home + power while it is powering up. Then clear data (factory reset), cache, and dalvik cache. After that, flash the ROM again and you should be good to go.
THANKS Works Great

If all you are clearing is the cache, and not wiping data/cache/davlik, that is your problem right there...
Ive cleared them all 3 times now and still getting the same problem.

When all else fails, follow unroot steps to return to stock and restart the process. Something you're doing doesn't seem to be adding up.

What ROM are you trying to flash, and what recovery are you using? The most reliable is arguably the Clockworkmod version...

Returning to stock is a good way to resolve this issue.
So guess what, you can change the color inside the rom settings
Oh thanks for the help
Are you using ROM manager to flash roms or doing it manually? if your not you should try rom manager it has an option that lets you wipe all data before flashing the new rom. i use it and ive never had any problems

If you search this forum or Google 'unrevoked', you'll easily find a complete guide and walkthrough on how to root your phone, which'll (as part of the process) load clockworkmod boot recovery.
The next time you reboot, hold the volume down key, which takes you into your boot screen, and use the vol up and down keys to select 'recovery', and press the power button.
From there, wiping your cache partitions and doing a full factory wipe is very straightforward.
That's the easiest way to fully flatten your phone before installing a new ROM.
Edit - the process might differ a bit for your model phone, but the principle will be the same...

Well I made a bonehead move, one that I'm usually a lot more careful about. I was trying to install the latest kernel mod by TwistedUmbrella on XDA and accidentally downloaded the update he had for the GB roms. However, I am on CM7 and now I get stuck on the White HTC screen when I try to boot up.
I've never had this problem before and not quite sure what to do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

Have you made a backup?? If so.. boot into recovery. If not, boot into recovery clear the cache and dalvik. Flash the right kernel.

Sorry if I am breaking rules, but it won't let me replay in the development thread.
I did root, and bootstrap. Then installed the latest eclipse rom, but I forgot to clear cache. No I'm stuck in a boot loop at the eclipse logo. I pulled the battery and it is still stuck. I tried going into Android recovery and I get the little droid with an exclamation point. Please help.
Thanks.

When u get into the stock recovery hit volume down and power at the same time to bring up the options. Then wipe and reboot.

Just had the same problem. When the exclamation error pops up press up and down on volume at the same time, then reset. I'm literally trying this as I'm typing.... waiting to reboot....and worked! "Welcome to DROID X2" screen! Eclipse boot animation is very long so don't be discouraged.

Its not that the animation itself is long.
Its that it is rebuilding system caches and dalvik cache so that next boot time is drastically reduced in comparison to the first boot up

If that doesn't get you there, when you see the triangle, press both volume up and volume down at the same time. It's how mine works anyway.

Hi,
I'm using JB 3.1.2 and I'm experiencing an issue with the device:
once/twice a day, the device simply turns itself off - even when I have enough battery - and in order to turn it on, I have to either click on the "power button" + "home button", or to click "power"+"volume up"+"home" (like I'm accessing the recovery mode); the device won't turn on by clicking the "power" button only.
2nd issue --> on the 'recent calls' log, sometimes missed calls are disappear from the log.
I would be glad to get help here..
Thanks!

Nobody said anything about deleting data. They said clear cache.
If that doesnt work simply re-flash rom over current one in cwm. Your appdata wont be touched. (unless its a wipe rom). If you still have issues then you should backup what you need with Titanium backup pro and do a clean install of rom/gapps by wiping data/factory reset then re-installing rom.
As an alternative to the above you could first try flashing kernel instead see if that resolves. Like Siyah for example.

I have same problem. Reflashing rom, wiping data, cache or dalvik wont work. Ive try some ROMs and will try another. Now Im testing phone after wiping battery stats. Maybe problem is in battery. Somewere I was read that with Samsung 2000mAh battery there was no problems. If You can try to test other battery.
If Yout phone will turn off - press power button about 10-12 seconds - will turn on.

Well basically the title says it all. ARHD was the firs custom ROM i tried on my phone. I changed it and started do use MIUI for some time. But I decided to go back to AR. The problem is when I install it it stays in the boot screen. So I had to go back into recovery and go back to MIUI. I really miss AR. Any help will be appreciated.

That means it could be a problem with h-boot and s-off. I would recommend making sure your h-boot is up to date and you have s-off.

Try to redo all the step.
Wipe, Data, Cache, Dalvik.
Then flash the kernel, Install the ROM.zip, and the last is Gapps.

You can do this by booting into the bootloader, using volume down and the power button at the same time, then once in the bootloader look at what version number it says for h-boot on the screen. This video also shows you how to boot into the bootloader.
