Sorry if I am breaking rules, but it won't let me replay in the development thread.
I did root, and bootstrap. Then installed the latest eclipse rom, but I forgot to clear cache. No I'm stuck in a boot loop at the eclipse logo. I pulled the battery and it is still stuck. I tried going into Android recovery and I get the little droid with an exclamation point. Please help.
Thanks.

When u get into the stock recovery hit volume down and power at the same time to bring up the options. Then wipe and reboot.

Just had the same problem. When the exclamation error pops up press up and down on volume at the same time, then reset. I'm literally trying this as I'm typing.... waiting to reboot....and worked! "Welcome to DROID X2" screen! Eclipse boot animation is very long so don't be discouraged.

...and next time don't forget, or should I say you won't forget as many a lesson has been learned from simple mistakes such as this. Show of hands please? haha
Its not that the animation itself is long.
Its that it is rebuilding system caches and dalvik cache so that next boot time is drastically reduced in comparison to the first boot up

If that doesn't get you there, when you see the triangle, press both volume up and volume down at the same time. It's how mine works anyway.
Yup Hes right

It clears the cache
Did you wipe after sbf? That is common.
Hi
I get this message after installing the zip file of my rom, it just stays this way(its stuck), any help?
exact same problem here...waiting for the solution, too =/
You guys need to make sure you clear your data/cache/dalvik in recovery before you flash the ROM.
It gets stuck because you probably didn't get rid of all the data in the previous ROM, so the phone can't possibly proceed.
So take the battery out, reboot the phone into recovery by holding val (the button on the way left) + volume up + home + power while it is powering up. Then clear data (factory reset), cache, and dalvik cache. After that, flash the ROM again and you should be good to go.
THANKS Works Great

No problem. Turn off the phone. Hold power and volume down at same time until you see writing on top of screen. Volume down until you get to android recovery then hit the up volume. This will bring you to the triangle with android. Hit volume down and up at same time. Now you are in android recovery. Wipe data and cache and reboot. You will be fine from there
used wrong version of rsdlite. flashing now
Hello, new here on XDA and hoping to be an established member here!
Im just startin out with roms and rooting. I trierd to install the liberty rom and its not working i dont think....
- i installed system recovery
- did a backup
- went through the rom toolbox and downloaded the liberty zip
- went through system recovery and installed liberty from the SD card.
- it went through successfully
now im stuck on a screen with the liberty bird spinning, the words liberty rom above it and it goes black every 3-5 seconds.
am i stuck? is it going through a process of some kind? it does this whether im plugged into the wall or not.
I just pulled the battery and i got the red M dual core logo, it went back to that liberty screen and is doing the same thing. I cant do anything!!!!
just some additional info for any help that may come my way....
i was on 2.3.4 before i flashed
I cant think of any other relevant info ppl might need. this is my only phone though, so im hurtin right now lol
Sounds like you are in a boot loop. Another important step you should have done before you rebooted out of recovery is to do the following:
1) Wipe the data
2) Wipe the cache
3) Wipe the dalvik cache
You can still salvage what you did. You need to pull the battery out. Then, put the battery in. After that, press and hold the power button AND the Volume Down button. Do this until you see words appear on the screen at the top.
Next, click the volume down button until you see Android Recovery.
Click the Volume Up button.
Wait a bit and you should then see the familiar Droid Icon with an exclamation point. When you get there, press both the Up and Down volume buttons at the same time to continue into recovery mode.
After that, you will be in the stock recovery. Click the volume down button to select the Wipe Data/Factory Reset and press the power button.
Once that's done, you can then select the Reboot System Now menu item and you should be good to go.
Remember, you should ALWAYS wipe the data, cache and Dalvik when flashing a new ROM to ensure left over files are lying around causing the dreaded boot loop you are experiencing.
I just tried it.
Im stuck on the liberty rom screen, but i read that it could take 10mins to boot up the first time. the screen isnt going black like it was before so I think im in the clear.
Im late for work now! hahaha
thank you so much though. This forum is a wonderful resource and the people seem really nice so far!
ill be sure to check for a thank you button after this post!

You may need to sbf if you cannot get back to the boot strap recovery screen.
Pull the battery and put the battery back in but do not power it on. Instead plug your phone into the charger if it goes into bootstrap recovery then wipe data, wipe chache then go to advanced and wipe dalvik cahce. reflash liberty and youll be good to go. If it doesn't youll have to sbf back to stock then try again. This time wipe data cache and dalvik and youll be ok. SBFing is easy and there is a tutorial the general section. If you have any questions on sbfing just put them here and myself or one of the other great community members will help you out.
So I'm stuck and need some help. Here's what happened:
I had the last latest joker CM9 on the phone. It worked OK, but I wanted to go back to stock.
I used RSD Lite to flash the 2.3.4 stock rom. That worked with no errors
When I pulled the battery, powering on results in a boot loop. Red M logo, then pulsing M logo, then phone shuts off. Repeat.
I can't boot into CWM, I get the android with a yellow exclamation logo
The phone is unocked
What do I do now? I've tried re-flashing 2.3.4 with the same result.
Nevermind, I figured it out. I forgot you can get past the android/exclamation logo by pushing volume up/down together. I did a factory reset and now I'm back in 2.3.4.

Same with me, flash with RSDLite form CM9 without wipe data. After flash using RSDLite, its bootloop.
When entering recovery, there is only yellow exclamation. At first, i think photon does not has recovery at all, but when pressing both volume button, it enter to stock recovery.
Wipe data from that recovery
OMG
I was soo stressed out all day... I was in CM9 all good and stuff, then I went to go flash some stupid zip and accidentally formatted my recovery... (IDK how but it was gone) ANYWAY.... I did the same thing as you and it worked!
if not for this post i probably would have never figured it out. I give you a genuine thank you.
Yeah, this post totally saved my rump.
Me and my rump, thanks you.
Big Fat Thanks!!!!!
Your problem was my problem!! Never knew about the volume up and down at the same time. I was just starting to stress a little and you come to the rescue!
Thank you much horn34
Thank you!
Fingers crossed
Did the same thing you descibed. Unfortunately im on my fifth sbf flash, so when that is done, I will give your method a try and hopefully it will work!
In case you're unaware, after SBF and before first boot, do a factory reset. Many boot issues after SBF can be cured this way.
My MoPho's in the kitchen sink!!
this post saved my phone. tks.
Holy crap, I thought I was screwed. Thank you!
Thanks saved me too
+1, ty..
Thank you so much!!! Thought my phone was bricked!!!!!
Dear sweet baby jesus. Thank you for you finding that out. If you ever come down to the south let me know and we will go grab a beer.
By the way How long did you phone have to sit at the contacting network screen? Mines been there at almost 20 mins now. Starting to think I may have to call sprint to reprogram.
thanks for the info..
