So I'm stuck and need some help. Here's what happened:
I had the last latest joker CM9 on the phone. It worked OK, but I wanted to go back to stock.
I used RSD Lite to flash the 2.3.4 stock rom. That worked with no errors
When I pulled the battery, powering on results in a boot loop. Red M logo, then pulsing M logo, then phone shuts off. Repeat.
I can't boot into CWM, I get the android with a yellow exclamation logo
The phone is unocked
What do I do now? I've tried re-flashing 2.3.4 with the same result.
Nevermind, I figured it out. I forgot you can get past the android/exclamation logo by pushing volume up/down together. I did a factory reset and now I'm back in 2.3.4.

Trust me, you dont know how hard I cried until I figured this out!!! I thought it was an error and my Photon was a brick!!

Same with me, flash with RSDLite form CM9 without wipe data. After flash using RSDLite, its bootloop.
When entering recovery, there is only yellow exclamation. At first, i think photon does not has recovery at all, but when pressing both volume button, it enter to stock recovery.
Wipe data from that recovery

I was soo stressed out all day... I was in CM9 all good and stuff, then I went to go flash some stupid zip and accidentally formatted my recovery... (IDK how but it was gone) ANYWAY.... I did the same thing as you and it worked!

Your problem was my problem!! Never knew about the volume up and down at the same time. I was just starting to stress a little and you come to the rescue!

Did the same thing you descibed. Unfortunately im on my fifth sbf flash, so when that is done, I will give your method a try and hopefully it will work!
In case you're unaware, after SBF and before first boot, do a factory reset. Many boot issues after SBF can be cured this way.

After I flashed the atrix alien port to my X2 my phone no longer recognizes my battery and will not charge it. Is anyone else having this problem? Are there any fixes to address this problem? If this has been addressed somewhere else I apologize I couldnt find it. Any help is appreciated, dont want to have to sbf back to stock.

Are you on v0.2 or v0.2.2?
when it happened to me I'd made the mistake of installing the rom over froyo

using v0.2.2. I just sbf'ed to 2.3.3 and am letting the batt charge again and am going to try to wipe the battery stats and see if that works. Thanks for the help, I will post my results.
Well just finished sbf'ing and flashing v0.2.2 again making sure to wipe dalvik, battery, cache, and data factory reset. Still get the battery message that says battery not recognized wil not charge.
If there are not any other ideas by tomorrow morning when I get up I will sbf again and try to download again and re-flash v0.2.2. Maybe a file was corrupt or something, I dunno.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Are you using a Motorola battery? Sometimes generics don't play well with custom roms.

yep stock battery.
Well i have other issues other than the battery. The phone randomly goes crazy and just starts acting like I am hitting buttons, opening programs and typing random letters. I tried re-downloading the rom and re-flashing but still the same issues with the battery. I guess I will sbf back to stock and wait for another update. who knows it may be an issue with my phone since no one else seems to have this problem.

Yes this happend to me. What you did was probally flashed oved 2.2. Thats a no.no. Heres the fix. RSD flash the official verizon 2.2. then root with gingerbreak. Then install custom recovery. Enter recovery mode. Wipe all. You must do this for it to work.Flash P3's pre rooted gingerbread. After install then go into recovery, wipe again then flash alien rom. It worked for me. You cant cross flash roms, they have to go into this order. 2.2, 2.3.3, 2.3.4.

I appreciate your effort to help but this is not what happened. I flashed from the official Verizon 2.3.3, then used red lite to she back and tried again. I have tried this rom at least 4 times now everytime I get the same results.
Dragon, thanks for your willingness to help. Basically what happens is the rom v0.2.2 flashes with no errors. When the phone boots I immediately get a message saying that my battery is not recognized and that I need to install a moto battery. After I hit the ok button the phone acts like a pc when you mash on the keyboard all different apps open up, random keys get typed, when I hit the home button the programs just open back up like ten at a time. Its kinda hard to explain. When I get off work tomorrow I will try to reflash ATRIX alien and post a video of what is going on.

Unfortunately, there appears to be no real solution to this. I hate to say that, but no one else is having these issues, then it must simply be a problem with your phone. I wish you luck, but there's not much I can do if your phone is acting up. I wish there was more I could do to help.

Thanks for your help I don't know what the issue is, it doesn't happen on stock gingerbread just on the ATRIX rom. Thanks anyway. I will keep an eye on your dev thread and will try again when the next patch comes out.
when i was on the alien port i did not have any battery problems. did the same thing as you sbf'ed to the official verizon 2.3.3 rooted and then onto the alien rom. my friend was having some issues however and what helped him was sbf'ing to 2.2.2, then rooting, then flashing p3's pre-root gingerbread onto that. after that his phone accepted the alien rom just fine. not sure what if any difference there is between the methods but it helped him.

I did root, and bootstrap. Then installed the latest eclipse rom, but I forgot to clear cache. No I'm stuck in a boot loop at the eclipse logo. I pulled the battery and it is still stuck. I tried going into Android recovery and I get the little droid with an exclamation point. Please help.

When u get into the stock recovery hit volume down and power at the same time to bring up the options. Then wipe and reboot.

Just had the same problem. When the exclamation error pops up press up and down on volume at the same time, then reset. I'm literally trying this as I'm typing.... waiting to reboot....and worked! "Welcome to DROID X2" screen! Eclipse boot animation is very long so don't be discouraged.

Its that it is rebuilding system caches and dalvik cache so that next boot time is drastically reduced in comparison to the first boot up

If that doesn't get you there, when you see the triangle, press both volume up and volume down at the same time. It's how mine works anyway.

woah, brought back memories with this thread lol!
at least even tho dx2 takes long to boot, nitro gave a nice pretty animation to look at!
My photon was locked with bootstrap, joker skinny and my Ginger Cream theme. Because the screen is messed up I'm sending it back to motorola. So I did a factory reset within 198_7, not the bootstrap recovery(this maybe where I messed up?). I then went into RSD mode and flashed 198_7. At his point it goes through with no problem and starts to boot going through the NOW network once. That fails and it boot loops through the moto icon going into the ripples. I've tried flashing it with 154_5 also to no avail. I can get into RSD mode, fastboot and etc.
At this point I think I could add onto my RMA and say it doesn't boot and assume I'm good. Also I assume that I'm good because as to my knowledge unlocking the phone removes warranty not rooting. With that said I would really like to get it booting and only send it to them for the legit reasons and not self inflicted ones.
Any help would rock.
You cannot do factory reset by flashing sbf. You must go in Android recovery, press volume up + down and factory reset there.

Hello, Out of desperation for a quick answer as I find many on 2.3.5 or situations that aren't the same as mine, I tried flashing MIUI and it failed. I made a backup prior but then it failed .. I tried it a few times and so I decided to reboot device.. I am now stuck.. I rooted my wifes phone right after she got it about a year or so ago and so It's using the recovery that you boot into while running the phone. I"ve never been able to get to recovery unless I open the app "System Recovery". I click install recovery.. then boot recovery.. I don't even know what it's called it's been so long.
Anyway, Now I can't even do anything. As soon as I plug the phone in it sits at the dual core logo and does nothing. I can get to fastboot but have no idea what to try. My battery is probably not charging and I"m screwed on how to charge it to as it doesn't seem to power off and charge once plugged in. I know she was on 2.3.4 last time I looked and it failed everytime she tried to update. She uses her phone for her business hence my desperation to fix quickly. I've never heard of a "system recovery" app. To get into the custom recovery just press and hold volume + power until fastboot appears. Press down until you see android recovery. Press up to enter it. Then restore your backup. You can do all of this with a dead battery or no battery as long as it's plugged it. What recovery are you using?
Reading it again looks like bootstrap?? That's not a real recovery, it's almost useless. You can't install ROMs like MIUI with it. You have to unlock your bootloader and use a custom recovery to do that! If you want to restore without losing data you'll want to SBF back to stock.

Thanks for the reply. When I get to android recovery I get the error in the title. It just sits there. I guess bootloader is what it is. I can't even get into recovery and that is my issue. It just says failed to boot 2. This photon is garbage imo. I've had the EVO now the EVO LTE and both were so simple but this one just confuses the hell out of me. I'm a flashaholic on my evos but I rarely attempt anything on the wife's as it seems way more complicated. I'm sure its not and if it was my phone I'd have more patience but the wife hates me at the moment so I'm desperate lol. Any other solutions besides boot into recovery cause that just isn't working...I was able to get into recovery when it was working but now it goes to the error and sits on the logo.

nah man! the photon is a great device. it's nearly impossible to brick it. which i love. you don't have a custom recovery. that's why you get an error. you're just seeing the stock recovery. which isn't a recovery, it's just made to factory reset. pressing volume up + down will allow you to see the recovery without the error. you need to SBF if you want to get the system back. that is the BEST solution if you are on 2.3.4. once you do that. you can unlock the bootloader if you want. but that wipes all your data. so backing up would be necessary. this is the same all devices. INCLUDING THE EVO. if you are locked forever and on 2.3.5 you need to do some work arounds as there's no sbf available.

You guys are saviours! This fixed me right up. Now to root properly. I always thought she was rooted as she had root access and what looked to me like an Amonra recovery. The full root process sounds a little more in depth than the EVO but I'm sure ill figure it out. Thanks again for all your help!
So can you guys recommend a Rom? I hate the motoblur and was leaning towards miui since I've ran it before but am open to suggestions.

U r wellcome first if u want a new rom u should unlock ur bootloader and install a reall recovery not the bootstrap
U can also see a qbking channel for unlocking photon bootloader then the recovery
If u find any difficulty just ask
ALL THIS IF UR 2.3.4

as mentioned above if you're on 2.3.5. you cannot unlock your bootloader. it's permanently locked! that phone will most likely never see a true ROM. like CM, MIUI, AOKP, etc. no way around this whatsoever. sorry my friend.
again, don't attempt to flash any ROMs through bootstrap except stock locked ROMs.
if you're on 2.3.4 you should try out CM or AOKP or PA!!! unlocking is easy.

Paranoid Android!
Gonna give Paranoid a go.. I flashed MIUI 5 times and it just hangs on the bootanimation. Never did get to the rom. Hopefully I have better results with aokp and paranoid. I realized that's what it was right after posting but thanks again!
So I have an HTC Droid. It somehow reset itself overnight. Must have been a factory reset because I woke to it asking to be activated. So once I get it running again I log into my google account and started getting everything setup again. Well it froze and reboot and now it's stuck in an infinite boot loop. I went into HBOOT and attempted a recovery and it did nothing! Then I tried factory reset and it just freezes. Doesn't give me any prompts or proceed in any way. I let it stay like that for 20 minutes and reboot and still in a boot loop and still have HBOOT access. What can I do? This is a complete stock device.
