It clears the cache
Did you wipe after sbf? That is common.

Let me guess that you did not wipe data and wipe Dalvik cache before you restarted the phone?
If not, try that and reflash KF.
Also you need to let the phone sit when you power it on, for about 10-15 minutes. Don't get impatient, it sometimes can take a long time for roms to boot up. I've seen a guy say it took almost 20 minutes for a rom to boot up for the first time.

Rebooted my X2 this morning and now stuck in a force close loop saying the application Launcher (com.koushikdutta.launcher2) has stopped. Ive seen the thread where this was happening on the gtab and sounds identical to my problem. But how to fix this on my X2? please help.
Grab a launcher from a rom and boot into recovery and install it by sticking in an update.zip template

thanks for replying so quick. Im new at this so please excuse the "noobness" but how to get a luancher from a rom and boot into recovery when i cant get out of the force close loop? Also, Ive seen methods talking about using rsdlite and flashing sbf. Think that may help? Thanks again.
Do you happen to have another launcher on the phone by chance? If you do, then maybe wipe data/cache and reboot. To get into recovery just plug your charger in while the phone is off and it'll boot into recovery..If you've selected recovery mode last.

A simple test: Power off & plug the phone into the charger. If it boots into recovery you can wipe cache & dalvik then reboot. It may take care of it.
If you plug it in while off & it boots to the big green battery, you'll probably have to sbf.
Can you get into the stock android recovery? If so, a data wipe through that may work as well.

Plug phone up while fully off and do NOTHING. If it goes to Green Battery, Battery Pull and turn back onholding volume down. When you see FASTBOOT at top of screen, Press volume down until you see Recovery. Press Volume up. When you get to stock recovery. Wipe Cache. Reboot phone. ON the popup select your blur launcher if it shows up.
To fix issue. Go to system/app or data/app and fix your permissions to rw-r-r to that launcher. This will fix your issue.
thanks for your guys help. I am able to get into the phone
Sorry if I am breaking rules, but it won't let me replay in the development thread.
I did root, and bootstrap. Then installed the latest eclipse rom, but I forgot to clear cache. No I'm stuck in a boot loop at the eclipse logo. I pulled the battery and it is still stuck. I tried going into Android recovery and I get the little droid with an exclamation point. Please help.
Thanks.

When u get into the stock recovery hit volume down and power at the same time to bring up the options. Then wipe and reboot.

Just had the same problem. When the exclamation error pops up press up and down on volume at the same time, then reset. I'm literally trying this as I'm typing.... waiting to reboot....and worked! "Welcome to DROID X2" screen! Eclipse boot animation is very long so don't be discouraged.

...and next time don't forget, or should I say you won't forget as many a lesson has been learned from simple mistakes such as this. Show of hands please? haha
Its not that the animation itself is long.
Its that it is rebuilding system caches and dalvik cache so that next boot time is drastically reduced in comparison to the first boot up

If that doesn't get you there, when you see the triangle, press both volume up and volume down at the same time. It's how mine works anyway.
Yup Hes right

1 - How did you install it?
2 - Can you get into RSD mode again? (power+vol up) during reboot
If yes to #2, then use RSD to flash 154_5 sbf file.
yes i can still get into rsd. Iflasked 154-5 sbf
i will boot then go to the sprint logo the first time. after that it just reboots with the m.
I am using rsd lite 5.6. The only thing that isstrange in that is that in the end it says power phone up manualy. at that time the phone in on. so i pull the battery and reboot.

Now, try to get into Android Recovery by getting into fastboot and then select volume down until you reach A.R. and select up. Can you reset your phone this way? Also, RSD will ask you to manually boot up phone. Pulling battery and booting up was the proper way to do so.

I would recommend charging all the way up, and flashing 154_5 first...and then once that's up, then flash the 198_7 sbf..
i have 154-5 working now. I am still pretty charged. I am nwo flasking 198-7.
I hope what was the problem was that i didnt know how to do the ar factory resect before. I had a modded rom on it before but wifi tether wasnt working. so that is why i am doing all this.
I remember screwing up once, and I factory resetted, wiped the system, flashed 154_5, then 198_7 and had to unlock, re-root install all my apps again because I didn't backup using CWM, only bootstrap. That SUUUCKED.

here's a tutorial on how to do it, but keep in mind that it's a factory restore. You'll lose root and other important info, you'll be back on the factory settings.

Won't really lose important info unless you need to data wipe to stop a boot loop
Sbf itself doesn't wipe data...just puts the system back to stock factory condition....
Most of time you will need to wipe data after sbf tho which of course wipes ya clean.....remember ....front to back (couldn't resist lol)

You know, I probably should've asked the op if he was able to get into the regular recovery and just doing a data wipe worked before doing a SBF.
I completely forgot to mention that.

I would have suggested sbf also
Whenever I've been stuck at m logo data wipe alone never helped...
Always had to sbf AND data wipe to get back

The worst I've had happen to me is getting stuck in a bootloop. I seriously freaked out and thought I seriously damaged my phone!! I just did a data wipe and all was good.
On a side note, the DX2 is actually my first smartphone. I originally got it out of desperation due to losing my old phone. And I always liked the look of the DX. The phone I had before was a LG enV2 on its last legs. LOL
