DX nor Bionic are done but I start the DX2 work next week
Still doesn't touch Eclipse in my opinion
It's another option. My wife ran Liberty 1.5, I think, on her Droid 2 and I thought it kicked ass; it was feature rich, clean, smooth and had many themes w/in the toolbox or whatever. Eclipse is great, but more options is even greater.

More ROMs =
Definitely. I've ran a few test builds on my Bionic and it's smooth. I'm just loyal to Nitro. I flash something different daily, as I'm sure many others do.

I got my x2 a couple weeks ago and now i'm flash happy and we have another coming!
Tap'n on my ALIEN X2
My companys giving me a dx2 and i just noticed no cm support ..bummer, especially since the dx at least has nightlies...figured the dx2 would as well..now with cm team getn ready to tackle ics im extra sad.
so my question is it even worth rooting this thing and running custom roms? i mean is there anything out there that offers anything over the oem experience (obviously minus the motoblur)?
correct me if im wrong but with the locked bootloader u cant even oc/uc the clock speed..just tryn to figure out if its worth the effort.
appreciate any opinions.
send from my G2X (cm7)
Yes, it's most certainly worth the effort. We don't have access to the bootloader, and thus the kernel, but the devs working on the dx2 are very active and consistently pushing out great products. Rooting is easy and nothing else is too difficult either. I'd look at the sticky by booked in the dev forum to find all the info you'll need.

There's a Dec trying to port CM7/MIUI over. And he's right, we've got GREAT devs! And more people are becoming devs all the time. The benefits are a much faster and snappier experience with less blur. You can't completely deblur it, but devs have gotten pretty damn close! I say you should root it, install our BSR and try flashing the different ROMs. That's what I did and it brought me to Eclipse. Then went to Molten and now I "dual boot" both haha
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
How do you dual boot?
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda premium
It's not really dual booting. But I have 2 back ups to switch between Molten and Eclipse haha
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
With a locked bootloader I would say we are doing pretty damn good. Liberty & Eclipse are two of my favorite that you should try out. I think Liberty is closest to stock GB as you will get.

That's gonna be your best bet. Check out some of those links and decide for yourself if its worth it.

Does anybody know if the install goes correctly, sorry if it's already been asked. I just don't want to brick my phone.

I didn't want to bump this thread, but I really want an answer. Sooo, anybody know?
For me on the .173 software it failed but did not brick my phone. But until the bootloader is unlocked/bypassed the razr can not run an aosp rom. + juice defender ultimate ran horribly for me, ive used it on many other phones that it worked wonderful, the razr it did not.

So that means that since my Razr isn't running an AOSP based ROM that it's highly unlikely that even on .181 it will be able to run, unlikely but not impossible?
Never mind, I put on my big boy pants and checked it for myself. It worked fine. And I love the new battery saving features.

Black Widow is a AOSP Rom, isn't it? And juicedefender runs very well on my razr for three months now.

A fully aosp rom includes the kernel, and since we cant boot custom kernels no rom for our phone can be built solely from the android open source project. I might have to give jd another try, do you guys still get the lag when it initiates 4g?

AOSP works for 65.1.40 2.3.6 asia stock rom.

What do you mean lag? I haven't botched anything service damaging like that. But I just set up jd and leave it.

But now we can boot custom kernels using kexec, right? Ok, second core doesn't work but a good ICS custom ROM with a good kernel running on single core beats a stock ROM which is running on dual core. So I think it would be nice if a custom kernel could be built.

It's been a while since I've tried jd, the last time I did I had horrible lag when I turned on the screen to data connectivity initiating. The dev might have updated since then.

Kexec is close, I can't use it on my DROID RAZR yet, but very promising. I'd guess most devs will wait for the official update to ics's source drop by moto, giving how hard it is to find/build drivers for the h/w.

Hey guys I was running eclipse 2.1 and went back to stock rooted. Now my question is, can I get a zip to flash for the one percent battery mod. I really loved the battery mod on eclipse and also the gallery so if I could just flash those two things I would be happy for a while.
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA
totally misinterpreted your question when i first read it. sorry. have you tried the super battery calibrator by zepplin_rox?
No I haven't is that gonna change my battery percentage?
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA
Let me clear this up I would like 1% battery increments because my x2 only does 10%. So I would like to know if their is a way to change this.

I'm running stock OTA ICS .211 with SafeStrap, and wanted to flash a ROM.
Just wondering, which one is your favorite for the .211 OTA with everything functional (can't have one with camera not working)?
If you want everything go with Eclipse. If you can stand not having hdmi then try CM9 or Axiom Infektion. Just my favorites.

Sorry, but no, I haven't run it yet. Development is so high for the Razr that I haven't done Dualcore, Eclipse or INFEKTION yet. I would suspect that it's at least as good.

Battery life on Infektion and Eclipse are pretty good. I can go two days easily. I dont believe that there are any bugs in Eclipse. As far as infektion the B2 update is running awesome.

Here is one vote for Eclipse, super stable and super smooth and im on .215
I'm running cm9 on my regular xt912 razr and I love it. Pretty stable and way better battery life then stock. Only had a couple of times I had to reboot since switching for problems. Just a quick question, on nightlys can I update through settings or do I have to reflash?
