JuiceDefender Ultimate AOSP Helper - Motorola Droid RAZR

Does anybody know if the install goes correctly, sorry if it's already been asked. I just don't want to brick my phone.
Sent from my DROID RAZR

I didn't want to bump this thread, but I really want an answer. Sooo, anybody know?

For me on the .173 software it failed but did not brick my phone. But until the bootloader is unlocked/bypassed the razr can not run an aosp rom. + juice defender ultimate ran horribly for me, ive used it on many other phones that it worked wonderful, the razr it did not.

So that means that since my Razr isn't running an AOSP based ROM that it's highly unlikely that even on .181 it will be able to run, unlikely but not impossible?

Never mind, I put on my big boy pants and checked it for myself. It worked fine. And I love the new battery saving features.

Black Widow is a AOSP Rom, isn't it? And juicedefender runs very well on my razr for three months now.

A fully aosp rom includes the kernel, and since we cant boot custom kernels no rom for our phone can be built solely from the android open source project. I might have to give jd another try, do you guys still get the lag when it initiates 4g?

AOSP works for 65.1.40 2.3.6 asia stock rom.

What do you mean lag? I haven't botched anything service damaging like that. But I just set up jd and leave it.

But now we can boot custom kernels using kexec, right? Ok, second core doesn't work but a good ICS custom ROM with a good kernel running on single core beats a stock ROM which is running on dual core. So I think it would be nice if a custom kernel could be built.

It's been a while since I've tried jd, the last time I did I had horrible lag when I turned on the screen to data connectivity initiating. The dev might have updated since then.

Kexec is close, I can't use it on my DROID RAZR yet, but very promising. I'd guess most devs will wait for the official update to ics's source drop by moto, giving how hard it is to find/build drivers for the h/w.

Custom kernels, more features, better battery life, AOSP ports.. Kholk & the Eternity Project crew are standing by with kernels already.

Dev work would definitely explode, above all.
Better battery life on my Razr Maxx? That would be insane. lol

As great as I hear it is already, it'd surely be better with an optimised kernel and less Moto bloat.

I have to agree about the optimized kernel, but i have yet to see any of the motorola bloatwares show up in the battery usage.
Check using Better Battery Stats and under the running apps and a few things might show up. Also heartily recommend getting an app like System Tuner or Autostarts and disabling much of the crap that starts on boot.

If moto unlocked the bootloader it'd be like chuck norris dividing by zero...
I have no doubt Gnex development would pale in comparison to the Razr and Razr Maxx.

I would have to agree with this, since the Galaxy Nexus is already almost perfect right out of the box, there's not much for devs to do but add little tweaks and mods.

Except the Maxx is better built, has way better radios, and appears to be more durable
ETA: Motoblur was pretty non existent before the .173 update. And then it's like VZW and Moto jizzed motoblur all over it again.... I'm running Absym1.1 on my non safe side (safestrap) and ICS on my safe side w/ the .173 OTA.

Can we safely assume CM7 is not going to get updated anymore?

Given that dragonzillar is working on CM9 now?
why not ask dzk?

What really needs to be updated in CM7? I'm sure if there was a big enough issue or if Cyanogenmod came out with a new update, he will update ours.
Just dsp manager and I believe some options in the Tom that contradict eachother in all the different settings. Lol

Since there is an official new kernal that should be put in. Which is why i don't use any of these new roms cause all of those (cm7, cm9, and miui) all uses 2.3.4 crappy kernal.
It would be nice if he did that.
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA
Kinda hard to use a new kernel with a locked bootloader
If God (dzk) uses 2.3.4 there must be a reason. of course maybe he doesn't know anything about it, and is really lucky... Doubt it.

2.3.4 more stable kernal than 2.3.5

Well at least wifi is not working well for me. It is very slow to connect, and sometimes I need a reboot to make it work. Otherwise, it stays in the scan->connect loop forever. I saw this on touchpad before, so this maybe a CM7 issue, but it is far from perfect.

The 2.3.5 Kernel is not stable. I ran it for about a week and then thankfully got the 2.3.6 update! The Kernel freezes and lags the phone horribly. Be lucky you are not on this kernal
I ran it with the Milestone X2
I personally hope he's devoting all his time to CM9!

Time for a ROM.

I'm running stock OTA ICS .211 with SafeStrap, and wanted to flash a ROM.
Just wondering, which one is your favorite for the .211 OTA with everything functional (can't have one with camera not working)?
If you want everything go with Eclipse. If you can stand not having hdmi then try CM9 or Axiom Infektion. Just my favorites.

Sorry, but no, I haven't run it yet. Development is so high for the Razr that I haven't done Dualcore, Eclipse or INFEKTION yet. I would suspect that it's at least as good.

I'm running cm9 on my regular xt912 razr and I love it. Pretty stable and way better battery life then stock. Only had a couple of times I had to reboot since switching for problems. Just a quick question, on nightlys can I update through settings or do I have to reflash?

Actually using cm9 that runs smoothly and has some fundamental features (for me) like back-button-kill-app, customizable toggles in notification bar and battery percentage.
I admit that jb is eve smoother but surely still too bugged
Right now, this is the best jb rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1964792
Have yet to find a custom Rom with functional exchange, Bluetooth, and camera that I like. Currently running a cleaned, heavily optimized and themed stock. Runs beautifully, fast, and everything works. 26hrs average battery life with moderate usage. #win

i run ikream 2.11 final it is close to stock and has full functionality with %battery
i have run both 2.14 & 2.15 kernals as well
i found these to be the most stable and provide me with the most battery life
In this moment for me the best rom is the dtrail1 rom. Works perfectly and he is now working in kexec
Enviado desde mi XT910 usando Tapatalk 2
I have been running rooted with the stock ICS ROM and Nova Prime with a couple of goodies added via Root explorer. I personally have been veering away from Jelly Bean for now on my RAZR as there are a couple of apps that I really like that don't play well with JB right now. No complaints and plenty of battery life.
I've switched to D-WiZ (using the stock kernel) a few days ago, and so far I am very pleased.
Battery usage is great, which is a stated goal of this ROM, and everything works at least as well as other ROMs I've tried.
Development is also happening at a very brisk pace, though it remains to be seen how long that continues.
Im considering using the Full Throttle AOKP jelly bean, its looks good. Has anyone used it personally and can say if this rom would be a go or not?
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda premium
I'm running D-Wiz from dtrail1 and i think it's the best !
Very good battery and performance, and there is an KEXEC Version coming, that means the Rom won't have the typical cm issues!

I am using D-WiZ Rom right now as my daily driver since it is being worked on. CM10 is nice, snappier, but it doesn't seem like anyone is working on fixing the bugs.

Currently running stock but I am eagerly waiting for dtrail's kexec version :good:
I have used the following:
i-Kream
Killer
SkullCandy
Artic
Liquid
Black Widow
Bionx
Eclipse 1.2 & 1.5
Simplex
My daily driver is Eclipse 1.5. I just flashed 1.5 from 1.2 and it is very stable, pretty, awesome battery life. Everything works (BT, Camera, Data). It isn't JB per se, but it has some JB things going on in it.
My daily driverROM is the Black Widow ICS. Very stable, everything works, great look, excellent battery life (not that stock was bad on the Maxx). Safestrap makes swappingROMs easy.

98.72.16.x912 ROMS

Hi all,
Call me stupid and/or lazy. I am looking for ROMS that are using the 98.72.16.x912 without having to change the kernel. Basically Flash and go. I have SafeStrap v 3.11 installed and want to see the ROMS that are 'current' or greater (4.2.2).
I am not looking for a wait or upgrade the kernel and then update the ROM... a out of the box ROM.
What is out there....Sounds like a SciFi ROM.
You can try cm10.1 its using a kexec kerneln, so it doesnt matter which kerbel you are on...

yes, aviator is good and also I recommend eclipse even though is with .8 kernel. use matt utility to get this kernel
