Does anyone know where I can find the original pandora apk that came installed on the stock NC. I am running CM7 and the Pandora that is downloaded from the market doesn't scale nicely as the original did. I have searched the forums but hit a dead end.
Is it necessary to dig through a system dump to pull it?
edit: pulled from system dump...dont know how to delete thread

I'm looking for the same exact thing for the same exact reasons - does anyone have the Original B&N Pandora apk? I do not have a backup to pull it from unlike OP.
Thanks and much appreciated.

The stock NC Pandora also seems to be ad-free.
I just wish it rotated for landscape. :-(

I can live with out rotation, NO Ads, and far better interface IMO, than the normal app. is a Win in my book. I pulled the Nook version over to use on CM7 after trying out the one from the market,
anyone gonna post it?

How do you change the station on the NC Pandora app? I couldn't figure out how to do it and it's stuck on QuickMix. That bothers me more than the lack of rotation.

Those don't show on my 1.0.1 autonootered. I just have thumbs, bookmark, pause, FF and then the default NC notification bar under those.
And the button savior Menu button doesn't pull anything up (which makes sense since this app isn't designed with softkeys/button savior in mind.)

They were visible when I ran stock 1.1 w/ AN3.0. I don't know you can't see them.
LCD density issue, maybe?
Or try the app scaling Compatibility setting in Spare Parts?

hey guys, I always used autostarts on my evo 4g to disable apps from starting up. I never like the task killer approach since it was said to have done more harm than good on android 2.2+. Well, since the 3d isn't rooted yet, what are you guys doing to keep apps from running? anything?

without root, all that can do is kill processes manually... same as ATK... unless I am missing something
For now, yes. Unless you know of another that works without root and doesn't actually hinder AOS? This one and minfree are considered the best according to reviews around the web. Set a preset and let it do it's thing....they work in conjunction w/AOS. But you are right, you have to manually end the process for now

You can't cause we don't have root. My post meant this is one of the best when we have root. For the time being you have to manually end the process yourself.

Ahhh got it... Sorry for the misunderstanding... Thanks!
Current Version:3.1.3
Requires Android:1.5 and up
size:3.2MB
V3.1.3 update:
New Android Market / Adds +1 For Apps And Games, Pin Number For Purchases, And More…
(for all devices – does not require root, but you do need to enable ‘Unknown Sources‘ in Settings-> Applications.)
There’s a brand-new settings menu, as well as click-to-read explanations of app permissions (not developer customizable, unfortunately). There’s also a brand-new Market icon to spruce things up.
Oh, and did we mention you can now use a custom PIN for purchases on your phone, instead of leaving your Google Checkout wide open for anyone that picks up your device? If you have kids, or your phone is stolen, this is one awesome feature to have – and really, it makes a lot of sense.

Hahaha..I know it seems like im doing all this from a computer but hell this phone is almost a computer. Can't imagine what bionic will be like lol.
And what do u mean by put the exact name? For google chrome? Sry I am confused by your wording just a little bit.
Should I remove the old.market apk from system/app first then? Or should it stay there.
Just don't wanna do anything that will have to make me sbf since I wont be able to do that until after 7pm tomorrow
I cannot wait until my computer is able to be turned on at my house I wont have to worry about that crap anymore.
This is just an app. You can install normally or push it into the system folder to protect it. Its your choice.

Install Normally Right Over The Old Market. As For The Exact Name, When You're In The Market And Let's Say You Want Google Maps. Type In Google Maps Hit Enter. Exit Out Of It Go Back In When You Touch The Search Area It's Gonna Pop Up Right Away As Your Last Search Or You Hit The Letter G And It Will Have Google Maps First.
I have been using Tasker for over a year now on my Atrix and would love to load it on my touchpad, but it appears it is not suppported according to the Android Market. Has anyone gotten it to install? Is this just a matter of the Market or the app creator not being caught up with the dev done on the touchpad?
Maybe copy your tasker apk form your Atrix, than use it on TP?

You can use an app called bluetooth file transfer. Once paired theres an option to send apps from your phone to the touchpad. It works great...

/data/app/
You can just email it to yourself and install from the attachment.
If you can't find it that way, you can download app monster, and manually make a backup of Tasker, then navigate to app monster folder and email it from there. This is what I do when apps dont show in the market. Hell, Im bored ill try right now.
and yes Tasker works beautifully.

It shows up in the Market from my TouchPad for me. I've had it installed since the first day I switched over to CM7, but I haven't really done much with it, except to verify that it does recognize events and execute tasks.
So I tried coping it from my phone, but when I ran the apk it wouldn't install on the touchpad. In the market my device is greyed out unfortunatly, I am using MIUI... Guess I will have to try the backup route
Maybe a MIUI vs CM issue?
Since the Note 3 is new, and so far, there is only one custom Rom, I've seen the "how do I disable camera sounds" question asked a few times.
I'm sure your favorite developer will incorporate this feature, into future Roms, like they have in the past, for previous devices. This is mainly for us impatient noobs.
You must be rooted. Using a root explorer, navigate to /system/csc. Backup your feature.xml. Navigate to /system/csc/SPR/system/csc. Copy feature.xml. Navigate back to /system/csc. Paste the new file, over writing the old one. Open the new feature.xml, scroll to the camera section, and change:
<CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>false</
CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>
to:
<CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>true</
CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>
Save, exit,
Set permissions to rw-r--r--
Reboot
Note: I used 'Root Explorer'. ES File Explorer may also work.
Here is a list of potential csc parameters, gathered from other phones. I didn't create this list. I found it about a year ago, and thought it might be interesting, to play around with.
Edit: the text file came from @kkoolpatz

I edited the OP, to make it clearer, and modified the method, slightly.
One other possibility. Backup your feature.xml. Navigate to /system/csc/SPR/system/csc. Copy feature.xml. Navigate back to /system/csc. Paste the new file, over writing the old one. Open the new feature.xml, and change:
<CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>false</
CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>
to:
<CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>true</
CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>
(You're changing 'false' to 'true,)
Save, exit,
Set permissions to rw-r--r--
Reboot
Very useful. Thank you.
Thanks for the clarification in the OP. I now got it to work. Problem I had before was that I did not realize that I was simply changing false to true. Super simple.

Great! It's good to hear that the instructions where clear enough to be followed. There's a lot more that can be enabled, such as using the camera during calls. It's the same principle, just a matter of searching through the feature.xml, and flipping or changing the variables.
Something to add to the first post. Make a backup of the original in case you ever screw up.

Always good advice, but it's already there. Unless you're talking about a nandroid...
Must have missed it. I was going to post the same thing since that was one of the first things I did when rooted but never got around to it. Glad someone posted it for others. Always good to share info. However you should have done it in the DEV section with a [MOD] Tag. Post some of the other tweaks too. It'll disappear here in General.

Yeah, maybe so. I went back and forth in my mind, and decided that this really isn't development, so here we are in 'General'.
I had a bunch of these edits, when I had my Note 2. I'll have to dig through, and see what additional features we can enable on the Note 3. Any help is definitely appreciated.
Geez, i wonder why Sprint wont include this option by default. On the at&t Note 3, the option to silence is already baked in.

Sprint can't afford a lawsuit when some idiot takes a silent upskirt photo and someone decides to sue them for not having it make noise.
I'm on stock rooted and es explorer gives me a permission denied error when I try to overwrite features.xml from the SPR folder to system/csc, also unable to rename or edit directly from system/csc but I can copy and paste elsewhere to back up.

Open ES File Explorer and tap the phone menu button. A pane should open on the left side of the screen. Scroll to the bottom, and turn "Root Explorer" on. When the Super User prompt pops up, be sure to allow it.

I'm not sure what the problem is. ES File had some problems with root, about a year ago, but I thought they got that fixed. I use it everyday, but not the root functions. Maybe you can try going into SuperSU, selecting ES File, and tapping "forget", then go back into ES, and accept the SU prompt.

Still failing after forgetting, I also reinstalled both ES and SU and no good. Any other free root explorers I can test? Or can anyone else using es verify if it's working for them?

I downloaded 'Root Browser' from the play store and this did the trick, ES Explorer is having root issues with the Note 3, well at least on my phone since no one else confirmed. I added the shutter menu (working) , enabled camera during calls (working), and tried to add a call button from the logs list but this didn't appear to work.
Thanks again!
