hi everybody, I'm new in customizing my android phone and this time I tried to update my GT-S5570 to Gingerbread 2.3.4 from samfirmware.com using ODIN
the only problem is that I'm not a patient person and after 13 minutes of staying in step 2 (QCSLIB or something like this) of the process I closed ODIN, unplugged my phone, took out the battery and tried to restart the process, but didn't succeed because the phone wouldn't boot, neither download mode, nor recovery mode, nor normal boot..
I'm desperate cause I'm about to leave the country in about 3 days and I can't take it to the customers service center, cause the whole process would take a week or two
so my question is: is there any way I can make my phone work myself or maybe just to get it somehow in recovery mode so I can wipe all data? I'm not eager in updating to Gingerbread or changing the Stock ROM, I just want to use it!!
thanks for the quick response forum.. would somebody be nice enough to give me even a yes/no answer? thank you very much!
since you are bricked, your phone doesnt work anymore
and btw this site is not here for customer support. you cannot expect to get an answer right away
If your phone is unable to entre download mode and be recognised by odin then theres no way youll get it back.Ive had similar problems with not booting but if at least it can boot into download mode you can reflash via odin.If your not a patient person then click start and go and have a cup of tea and relax for a bit.Better than losing your phone.

So I know how annoying the "help me, I'm bricked" threads are but I really couldn't find the answer to my problem anywhere. I tried to flash the Euro firmware on a Chinese Ace. I've done this several times before on other phones and have never hit these types of bumps. It started with me trying to flash from froyo, I didn't see anywhere in the tutorial saying not to but because I couldn't find any firmwares that weren't just a onepackage I ended up just trying that. Well now I'm aware that was stupid because the flash never went through after a long time of waiting and now the phone hangs at a screen with a computer and a phone on it with a yellow ! sign. Pretty sure that's bad. I tried the tutorial on here about unbricking but its not working. I eventually found the right files to flash that weren't onepackage but now its too late because even those wont take. What can I do here? Anything? I really don't know what to do, its not my phone and I was just doing it as a favour for a friend because the phone was pretty useless with the Chinese firmware, but not this useless...
Does phone start in downloading mod?
And you write lots thing but not understand properly that you flashed one package or need one package firmware.
Onepackage firmware for galaxy ace you will find at samfirmware.com or sammobile.com
I can start in Download mode but its still not letting me flash anything with odin.
I never was able to get any firmware on it and now its not starting up.
remove ur battery, press the three button combination for download mode, and while u push those three button just insert the battery again. now it should magically go into download mode and u can flash other rom. u should ask someone to help u tho, its damn hard to do this alone
fixed!
Fixed it! So here's what I did for anyone who gets into a similar problem. First off, I never had a problem getting into downloading mode, so this wasn't a full blown brick I guess. I couldn't get Odin to finish the transfer, always hung at the beginning. So after going a little crazy I just kept doing it over and over, couldn't hurt, and then I started moving to one of the different USB ports. I have 7 and just kept trying them. Finally on the very last one it worked. Full transfer and this Chinese brick thinks I'm in the UK sippin on tea and crumpets! It sounds crazy but just moving around to different USB's did it!
Well, I can add up some more info about this case. I bought my Ace from China and i have never stumbled upon any problem flashing other firmwares.
Hi everyone,
I'm sorry if ever I'm posting this on the wrong section cause I'm not sure if this is a problem from android or samsung.
I'm not good at all when it comes to phone troubleshooting so I will try my luck and ask questions about what have happened to my phone just awhile ago. I got this phone from Japan(Samsung Galaxy SII Wimax isw11sc) months ago and I only use it for multimedia purposes as it is region locked and I am at another country atm. everything is running fine until my phone asked for a software update(not really sure what upgrade that was) and I decided to give it a shot and let it download the updates. I left it to do some chores and when I came back to check on it, it reboot looped itself on the AU(mobile phone company from japan) logo.
I did some research and found some things like hard reset and download mode. I tried to do the hard reset(power/home/volume up) method but I can't seem to access the settings instead, the phone keeps on showing me this "Preparing for S/W update. Please wait." after a few seconds, the phone will reset itself back to the reboot loop.
I tried to do the download mode using odin mode but then, I realized that my phone and computer won' connect via USB port because well, my phone won't boot. Also downloaded the manual driver but my pc won't recognize it.(win7 if that helps.)
Please tell me what have happened and what I can do to fix this problem, I don't really care if i lose everything that I have stored on my phone, I just want it to work again. Help will be much appreciated, Thank you.
This may turn out a bit long...
My s2 has been playing up in one way or another for a few months now such as freezing, turning itself off and kept going into drive mode by itself then last week all my messages deleted and I couldn't send or receive any more and then the next day it turned itself off and I can't get it back on properly. It turns on, goes onto the Samsung Galaxy S2 screen then onto the O2 welcome screen then to the screen with the flashing S then just goes between that and the O2 screen over and over again. Been looking for help the last few days and the main thing I could find was to go into recovery mode and restore it but I can't do that because my home key doesn't work. So nor could I do the second thing I read could help which was to go into download mode and flash it. I didn't even know anything about recovery mode, download mode, flashing, rom, odin or anything else until last week. My phone is exactly as I bought it. I then read about a usb jig which would force it into download mode which I got today and it didn't do anything. I actually couldn't care less about the phone, I would love to just smash it to bits! BUT is there any chance I will ever be able to do anything get it back on just once so I can get my photos and videos off it? I've connected it to the computer but it comes up as an Android Modem so that I can't get the files off that way and it won't connect through Kies either. I know sending it to be repaired would end up with it coming back totally wiped so no point doing that. I normally wouldn't be so bothered it's just there's pictures of my daughter's first birthday and holiday and videos of her first steps. Is there anything else that can be done? Thanks.
There's a 0.000001% chance the phone will boot normally & your stuff will be intact if you can get into download mode & flash a one part stock rom. The more likely scenario is you'll need to flash a 3 part rom which will wipe the device.
You could try ADB to get into download mode, but you're going to need to be motivated to learn how to use it (plenty of tutorials on XDA/elsewhere; search). If that doesn't work for whatever reason, try fixing the home button.
Being a former betting man though, I don't like your chances of recovering data.

Thanks for replying. I don't have a clue what a one part or three part rom are sorry! Doesn't look good then. I'm so annoyed. I had planned to sort through my files and get them backed up last weekend because I knew this would end up happening and the stupid phone died on Thursday! I don't think fixing my home button would help because the volume button didn't work much either, it's a wreck to be honest! Had a quick look at ADB, looks complicated but I'll have a proper look later on as a final hope otherwise I'll just have to accept my files are gone for good
Just an update...tried to get into download mode with adb but it doesn't find my phone. Is this because it only comes up as an android modem by any chance? Think I may have to give up hope. At least I will learn from this and back things up a lot more often!
hey guys thanks for any help. here is my problem.
i got an s3 i9300T to fix for sister in law. she apparently went in to telstra and got told that if it was her fault she would have ot pay for the repairs and she needed a phone while its away so she just payed of the contract. not sure what she exactly wants except for her data back.
upon taking a quick look it had a familiar screen. the computer triangle phone screen. im like sweet easy fix with an odin flash.
i installed a 4.0.4 version of telstra software(will look what one later) and it magically booted im like sweet. then encounter the sim lock. had to wait a day for the information so i left it over night on charge. (she wanted her contacts as well apparently but at the time i didn't know what she wanted really and i didnt just think to take out the sim.) ended up asking what she exeactly was wanting and phone was looking fine. tryed to update through kies and apparetly wasnt not able to be done on that android version. i left it another day and noticed that it was stuck on that boot logo/splash screen. i noticed i can still get in to recovery and download so i tryed to reflash same software. unsuccessful half way i tryed to use a 4.1.2 version that would not get pasts a tz** (replace starts with letters i cant remember atm) i suggested to just keep in on wanrrenty as odin hasnt counted anything yet. but they seam more for data recovery. should i try something iive tryed again or not tryed. or just try flashing recovery and trying to get the data off that way?
as i cant access stock recovery atm and its back to the computer triangle?
i know i dragged on sorry hope i explained correctly.
sorry fail to understand the post and your problem.
If its SDS you cannot recover data but you can fix with a new motherboard .
as far as i can tell i cant get the device too boot or accept new firmware, and it looks to be the sds problem but im not sure.. i think ill try and install a custom recovery and see if i cant mount it and get the data back.
Hi, I've been browsing the forums for people's attempts to fix a problem. At first the phone just turned off and I was unable to turn it on because it was stuck in a boot loop. The rom I had running was an ICS stock rom from hk. During this time i was still able to get into download mode but unable to enter recovery. I have tried many times to get to recovery and then tried to flash with several stock roms too. Upon failing around 10 times I moved on to a custom rom.

The Jelly bean one here.
Upon failing from this too and unable to do anything but reset the phone and try again. I managed to turn it off... but now unable to turn it on in any way or get into download mode or recovery.
Is there anything I can try to do to get the phone to be working? What can I do?
Try a jig but understand it's very unlikely to get you into download mode. Service centre or local mobile repair shop for diagnosis (I also doubt it will be JTAG'able).
Edit - Also, search for KingRat's 'jump start' method where you try & boot the phone with just the charger/without the battery.

Don't loose hope mate...
Try remove battery and insert charger (optional)...
Press voldown+home+power button then let someone (your mother, father, brother, sister, neighbor or friends) insert the battery for you while still pressing those 3 keys...
I hope it will enter to download mode again...and report back please...
Try to use an other battery, my original one is fuked up, it does nothing.
I bought a new one and it works
I tried plugging my charger to the phone and pressing the 3 buttons and then having someone plug the battery in for me, still wouldn't start up. Also tried it with another battery i have on hand, also no luck.
You know what the options are then. Ignore people making ridiculous suggestions which don't work. My aim is to be honest with people, tell them the truth, and have them either get their phones fixed or replaced as quickly as possible in this situation (let's face it, nobody likes to be without a phone), rather than fill them with false hope & waste their time.
I think I fried my mobo while trying to flash it cause it does head up the phone without showing anything. I am going to order parts on ebay. I got this confirmed by someone at a shop near where I live, however they won't replace the mobo for me even if i do find a working one.
=) luckily this isn't my phone but my dad's who works at home and doesn't mind using an OLD OLD flip phone just for calls for the time being.
Side question, even if i replace the mobo and I get it booted but I still get stuck in the boot screen loop and unable to flash to any stock roms what can I do?
If you replace the motherboard you should fix it without further problems. New motherboard = new NAND, no more bootloop - unless you flash again & the flash is bad; you can't mitigate the risk of a bad flash, you can only do all the sensible things like making sure you're using a PC with reliable USB ports, that you're flashing the correct firmware for your device, that you're using an original Samsung USB cable. Basically, if you're careful, the risk with any given flash is very low.
So, fix the hardware problem, flash stock for your country/carrier once you've done that, and go from there.
