Best Rom - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

I tryied out sooo much Roms! Now ive the perfect one!
It's MiniCM7Pro from Paul! Thx Paul
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1201116

All roms have a bug, but I like GingerDX

I'm currently using GingerDX (v006 w/ hotfixes). It works great for the most part, it's much more stable than the froyo rom I was previously using, and seems to be much faster as well.
Hard to say "best" about any rom... the question really would be.. what rom is best *for you*

I'm currently using GingerDX too, v007.
"For me", it's the Best ROM.
Sonybread is the main Paul's ROM.
Sorry my very bad english.

I'm using GingerDX 007 too and for me, among the 3 most relevantat gingerbread based roms, is the most stable and the one which better responds; but, any patch or hotfix to solve the notification bar problem? Once it has been extended the only way to put it back is by pressing the back button; and a last question: does the keyboard light work properly for you? is instaled D4 app? I can't see it.
And finally, if you can help me... anyone has experienced that when installed any gingerbread rom, even wiping cache and Dalvik still the previously installed apps?
I thing I'm the only one...
Thanks!!

another vote for gingerdx. the fastest rom i've used so far (i've tried almost all of them). battery life is great as well.

not true. you just have to find the right spot. when extended, try dragging the bar back up by placing your finger just slightly above the three notches in the bar. it's not perfect, but it works.

yes, the kb light works perfectly. the app is called "D4's kFix".

try this...when in cwm, go to mounts and storage and format cache, data, and system. also, wipe dalvik cache, wipe data/factory reset, and wipe cache partition. see if that works. works for me

My SD Card has a EXT partition for Link2SD from 2.1 Stock rom; maybe...?!

GingerDX rules
One more vote to gingerDx, the best one.

+1 for GingerDX

Have only tried gintonic.se by slade so far. It is the first time I am running a custom rom, I can not believe my eyes, all is looking so nice and works so well. Thanks XDA! (and slade in particular Has anyone who is voting for gingerdx tried gintonic.se as well? Now that I know how easy it is to flash a rom I might try another one (gingerdx/Paul's CM7) just to compare them.
If I make a backup of my system in CWM will everything be exactly the same when I do a restore? I mean all the settings as well (not only apk's+data).

The best one for the Mini's, must be MiniCM7 by nAa.

[Q] Best rom for HTC HERO!

Hy everybody. I just bought a Htc Hero and I`m wondering wich is the best rom to put on it? thanks
It depends what you're looking for really.
VillainROM 13 is like stock, has HTC Sense, but quick, like very quick!
My personal favourite is RCMix 2.2. It is a Sense ROM but has a few nice visual tweaks.
And there's Cyanogen. They've recently dropped support for the Hero, but the nightly releases aren't too bad.
Basically just try as many as possible and see how you get on with them.
I would like to know which one is the most stable, without any bugs, fastest etc.
I have installed Villainrom v13. It's really fast, but I think there is a bug, because my battery drains empty in 6-12 hours, when on my original ROM it held for 24-30 hours.
Hi
Hello I am wondering the same thing. I have installed a 2.3 version and I am not that happy although some things are better everytime I go to the home screen it has to load which never happened with my stock 2.1 Orange rom.
Anyone can recommend a ver stable and fast rom would be much appreciated?

Hi! I looked into the VillainROM 13 but its only Android 2.1 I really need 2.2 for app2sd and also sharepoint. Do you have a link to the other roms you recommended? And are they easy to install with rom manager and the recovery software that comeswith that?
Thanks mate
Yes, we are newbees on Android and we need your opinions.I have now on my phone Android version 2.3.2, tasty version gingerbread 2.0, kernel version 2.6.29.6-RaKern-200 [email protected] #14, Baseband version 63.18.55.06pu_6.35.15.11. IS THIS A GOOD ROM? What are his advantages and disadvantages? Thanks everybody in advance & sorry for my bad english
I've tried a few ROM's. I've got backups of Villain13, Elelinux 7, and Floyo.
At the moment, for daily use I'm on Floyo 1.2. I have been using Elelinux, and in general it's a nice ROM but the black screen bug that you have probably heard about is rather annoying. Hopefully with the discussions between Erasmux and Elelinux they will come up with an idea to get Cyanogen Hero dev back under-way.
But for day-to-day use I'd go Floyo 1.2. You can flash a gingerbread theme if you really have to. I find its rock solid and the kernel can be overclocked via flashing.
Also, Apps2SD is supported (old fashioned style). If you have a fast SD card, why bother with the Google version?
Good luck, and if there is any help I can offer....
Tbh if you want a fast stable driver, that you'll use daily then i'd use VR13. Froyo and Gingerbread have never been officially released for Hero so using Rom's based on these android versions means you will encounter a few bugs and some lag. If you really need App2SD then you could use dark tremor's script which will install it for you. I'm gonna post up my own 2.1 rom which will have App2SD enabled if you wanna try it. But from experience of nearly every hero rom available on xda, VR13 is the best.
Thanks JieHD, could you plese tell me were I can foun this rom, and a quick guide to intall it om my Hero? Thanks in advance
TBH i've never had lag on Floyo, or any other problem for that matter. The only thing is you don't get the HTC add-ons.
VR13 is good, but I do miss Friendstream. Been using the one out of Launcher Pro.... Each to their own.....
My advice, flash one, try it for a while. Do a full backup in Rom Manager. Then flash another.... But beware, you will become addicted to flashing (ROM's that is).
As I said earlier, I keep a few on my SD card. So easy to restore in Rom Manager...
Anybody could tell me how to install a new rom on my Hero and how to get rid of the old one?

should be up soon, to install:
1. Boot into rcovery
2. wipe data
3. wipe cache ( if you use it )
4. wipe dalvik-cache ( this is in advanced options if you use cwm )
5. install rom from sd card
6. reboot, should take about minutes
As a side note, just for a nicer user experience -- download spare parts+ frm market and set windows animation to fast and transition animations to fast. and tick fancy input animations
I will lose my apps and data on my phone? How can I backup them?
use titanium backup from the market
If you tried out my rom, tell me what you think

i was tested a lot of roms and finally my favourite rom is VILLAINROM V.13 because is soo STABLE (IMPORTANT),works fast...,and the most important for me: has sense widgets for drain battery i´m ussing flykernel 12a with O/C, SETCPU at 514 mhz conservative.(battery drains empty in 24 hours more or less)...
if there was some froyo rom with sense and working camera It would be brilliant because chocolate froyo for example works well

Tried it this morning, was nice a smooth, just the icons were not to my taste, if I get some spare time over the weekend I'll knock up an alternative framework, being elderly I find the circle battery meters hard to read when they have numbers in the middle, or that could just be this mornings hangover

[Q] wat is the Best rom for x10 mini pro and how to flash it....

i downloaded cm7.1 ...edited the file to get the error7 correct...and installed it wid xrecovery...but the phone got bricked....i managed to recover....but now i want to flash it...so i want to know which is the best rom and how to Flash it properly..
thanx
Take a look at the 3/4 most used ones in the developer forum and try them all. There are plenty of guides on the forums how to install custom roms and which one you prefer is subjective. From personal experience, Slade's GinTonic and the GingerDX Rom's are both excellent.
I use the MiniCM7 Pro now at its release v17 (with v18 incoming). It works very well: it's fast and very customizable.
To install it you need the CWM.

thats your problem.. all roms are for ClockWork Mod recovery aka CWM...not für xrecovery !!!
if you ask me: MiniCM7 is the best!
are there any major bugs in miniCM7 from ur experience ....i now know how to install it properly....and wat about Slade's GinTonic and the GingerDX rom...are they better than miniCM7 ??...btw thanx for the help..
3G and MMS
I have miniCM7 - problem dont working 3G and i cant send mms.
Must bugs people are reporting are personal issues and not general problems with the ROM's. Only way to figure out which ROM you would prefer is to try a selection.
For me, GinTonic has been the one running the most smooth.
Install CWM
Install a ROM and test it
Go back into CWM and take a backup of that ROM
Clear the phone
Install another Rom
If that's better, backup that one and test another.
Then when you have figured out the best ROM for you, restore that backup on your phone.
I installed the GingerDX v17, but it seems that the wifi just stopped working for some reason.
Im thinking about installing the Flame.E, but its beta.

Yeah, my wifi doesn't work either.
I used both MiniCM7 and Sonystyle. Now I'm using GinTonic and I'm pretty satisfied with it. But I will give Eyama's roms a try, just to be sure wich one is better for me.
Like stated before, install each one and make backups, it's very easy to switch roms according to your needs.
Now I read that with the Flame.E the wifi works properly, so, ill give a try on that. crossing fingers for a beta!
GingerDX V14
The only ROM that I've tried so far is the Froyobread, it's 2.2.9 but it does the job until i find a version of 2.3.7 that suits me, the only bugs i found with it are minor like the lock screen animation isn't quite in the right place and the SYM menu in the messages sometimes bugs out, other then that the wifi works, the camera fully works, dual touch it's all there
I've installed MiniCM7 v19...i read many comments on development forum about problems with wifi, but in this 2 days of test with this rom no problem for me.
This rom is fast and very stable in my opinion.
ps.with v16 i had problem with wifi, but i solved them deleting the file wpa_supplicant.config in data/misc/wifi folder
I´ve GingerDX V17 and it works great! very smooth and no battery drain
There is a very "reduced" rom 2.1.1.Clean.0.0.the tweaked version of it is mod black v1.6 from flex96 from pfonck and if you like a lot of options try gin Tonic.SE from slade87. Juste read carefully the Faq before you flash a rom
Sent from my U20i using xda premium
MiniCM7 seems to be the best rom but i feel it has a battery drain problem compared to sonystyle V10.
>if you want smooth and fast ui with no problems then MiniCM7
>If you want long lasting battery life with a lil less performance than
MiniCM then Sonystyle V10.
Hope this helps.
MiniCM7 is all right for daily usage, it really depends of you. Try 'em!
For me, Slade's GinTonic.SE works great and very smooth.

[Q] To install apps bigger than 16MB zip file on Oodie's CM7 rom?

Well, after confirming that I have my bootloader unlocked, I am successfully in Oodie's CM7 rom! ^^ Everything's nice, I really liked the bootanimation. so far so good! ^^
But in the installation procedure, there was this thing:
Oodie said:
* To install apps bigger than 16Mb or So - Flash this Patch via recovery .
Click to collapse
Well what I did was:
1. go into recovery
2. install custom zip
3. chose that specific patch
But it says installation aborted. Did I do something wrong?
I have apps bigger than 16MB, and i have backup. when I was trying to restore at Titanium Backup, those specific apps bigger than 16MB were paused, and doesn't move even I waited for an hour. I think this has something to do with that patch to be flashed via recovery. Help!
EDIT: well I flashed it via xrecovery, i didn't know that there was also xrecovery and not only CWM recovery. and it worked! but still the same. restoring apps in titanium backup and still a piece of crap stuck at 0%.
There are differences between xRecovery & CWM Recovery, did you flash it with xRec?
Yes, in CWM recovery it says installation aborted, and in xRecovery it's good.
I did restore my files when I restored through Titanium Backup. ^^
but nvm it now, I came back to ThJap's rom, I didn't like Oodie's CM7 rom a bit.
When developers use boot managers. You press the back button you get shifted to xrecovery. press the left most button you go the menu of choosing recoveries. And volume up button CWM recovery.
[off topic] OKk. Even I shifted from thjap to Oodie. But I am very much comfortable here coz its CM mod. I get theme support here. Will shift to CM 9 soon (Hope the bugs get solved). :-D

thank you! I was just confused what "recovery" is he referring to. and I think that's xRecovery.
it's nice that you like Oodie's CM7 rom, i reflashed thjap's rom because i found out that i really like stock-based roms.. and i'm not used to with the lockscreen style in cm7 even when i changed it.. ^^ oh well besides ThJap's rom works really nice, wolf's and thjap's rom are really the best out there, really

Well, if you really like stock-based roms, yet want the speed and features of CM7 you should give Achotjans CM7 SEMC Debrand Rom a try. It's Two, Two, Two Roms in One.

definitely real nice. i really didn't like the theme style of CM7, especially at the dock. this rom really features stock theme, awesome.. i'll give it a try later on ^^ i'm really comfortable with thjap's rom now

CM7 Not smooth

Hi Guys!
I have a Big problem.
I want back to cm7, because i have bugs on the multitouch in games on Cm9 .
Problem: Cm7 is not smooth.
before switching on CM9, CM7 was very smooth but not anymore.
Why???
I have never tried CM9 or CM10 yet but try to do full wipe then flash sable CM7 or CM7 based rom. ( I recommend Neutrino.)
use this script to do FULL WIPE. It deletes EVERYTHING Make sure you copy your rom files to the your sd-card.
I'm sure it will solve your problem.
Thanx you so mutch, i try that now!

Best rom

My xperia x10 became really slow so I thought maybe a costum rom will speed things up.
But I don`t want to lose all my contacts and apps I thought you could get them all back with your google account
but I just want to be sure.
And then the other question what is the best rom where you do not lose any function from your phone.
Thank you
Sorry if this already been asked before

You can export your contacts to you sd card and after flashing new rom just import them back...about the app back up if you have the .apk just keep them in the sd card and re install them... or you just do a google back up...personally never did it...I prefer to delete everything and re install from google play
for the best rom? i think its the GB rom.. follow the dev fera and check his roms..am on feralab gb rom V20...am using it with his new kernel...its just awesome man...good ram as well... i would've used the original stock rom with his kernel but the thing is that the wifi is not working..any how i think there will be a new rom release which is called new generation v2...personally am waiting for that...
I hope I helped..
Install mybackup root free from the play store, do a data backup (I suggest everything but the contacts and calendar as they sync from your Google account and you may get duplicates), backup your apps+ data, after flashing new ROM, install mybackup root again and restore everything starting with the data (I install apps 5 at the time to make it slow and give the ROM time to settle) don't forget to have at hand your APN's as they will new erased and you will not have 3G out of the box (at least you will have Wi-Fi to download everything you may need/have forgotten) hope is clear enough either you can ask again

Install a cm7 kernel, i think xrecovery or cwm is included then.
step:
1: put everything on sdcard, rom, gapps.
reboot and when it's starts press the back button many times, and u will get into recovery. and just wipe data / factory reset, and install the rom. after flash the kernel in flash mode that is for the rom.
Wrong donut is not cm kernel its a gingerbread kernel fera 3.6 is a really good 1
