Hi guys...
I just flashed my X10 Mini Pro but it is still having the same problem...restart by itself even i didn't do anything to that phone...( i already used this phone from january 2011 till now..) android version 2.1...
please...what should i do?
i don't know how to solve this....
=(
What ROM are you using... give people a little more information before asking.
My mini pro have been restarting too until I turned off JIT. Go to Settings→CM Settings→Performance→Ok, uncheck Use JIT and reboot. It should improve stability at cost of performance.
I think I just post here...
My x10 mini pro started to behave strange (firstly lags, freezes, reboots, later just constant reboots) about 2-3 weeks ago. I thought ok, I probably screwed something. Later not only while heavy use, but even after entering pin it rebooted, the pin->reboot->pin->reboot cycle went for some time (2-5 times mostly), usually waiting few minutes before entering pin or airplane mode helped (but after turning it off phone rebooted).
So 3 days ago I had enough, I used SEUS. But it's happening again! I reflashed again, restored only texts, synced with google account, nothing more, but phone rebooted few times.
So I'm wondering, does the phone have hardware issues or did SEUS leave some earlier stuff on phone memory?
(ROM 2.1.1.A.0.6)
Sorry for my bad english. Nov to the theme im having the same problem. onley thing that helped was to turn off all data conectionf via 2G/3G mobile network. So i can use just Wi-Fi when ever i connect to the internet whit mobile 2G/3G the phone restarts just like you discribed...
@j000
I think there is something wrong with hardware and I suggest you to give your phone to service. You can also check if turning off mobile data will fix it.
@Jurasek88
Trying to fix it isn't worth of effort so the best way is to do full backup of user data with Titanium, reinstall ROM you are using and restore data. If it doesn't help, you should give it to service or live without mobile data.
Tried various ROMs. Tried turning off JIT.
At the beginning everything works fine, then after a few days it's restart a day, the a couple restarts a day. 2 weeks later it restarts almost every hour.
It's so frustrating i feel like smashing the damn phone on the wall. I could install the original old SW, but it's a joke. What a piece of crap this SE.
Am I alone in this?
Why dont u guys install a CUSTOM ROM instead of using the Stock 2.1.. you'l get better performance n wont fell like throwin ur mini pro.. !!

That's exactly what I'm doing. I installed 2 different 2.2. Worked wonderful the first week and then restarts... Installed another one. Same ****.
Now using GingerDx but it eats battery like crazy.
Any suggestions would be appreciated...

I wonder what makes it suck battery like crazy in 3G....
faiyyaz: Thanks for the reccomendation. As long as DX is stable I think I'll stick to it... Is Gin Tonic better than DX in your opinion?

I recommend CyanoComb 1.4 and GingerDX v12 , stable and long last battery life (>> 2 days for me )
but I got problem when touching in 2.3.5 (always miss in typing letters in the corners ==!) so I chose CyanoComb 1.4

both are great roms for battery life but my vote goes to gdx. aside from it being a gb rom, it's constantly being updated. it's only gonna get better.

In fact, not better, but more beautiful... Maybe. Better for updated programs and libs. Check the changelog in X8 original post about GingerDX. ;-)

Most GingerBread ROMs are basically the same. What's differ is framework, theme and apps-pack.
Theme should not make any difference in stability or battery-drain.
Framework and apps-pack will.
Try to remove som preinstalled apps like DSP manager (removing this will increase performance and battery life).
paul-xxx made 2 ROMs that are the same framework, but diff theme and apps-pack. I find SonyBread insanely stabel (manually removed DSP manager). Not a single reboot since i startet using this (2 weeks now).
achyut made a list of apps he removed. get inspiration from this
yes most of the 2.3.5 roms drain battery, i installed advanced task manager so u can check which apps are always starting up in the background and try freezing with titanium backup to make sure they dont effect the running of device...make sure your not signed into latitude, disabe gprs and the'use my location ' for alot of useless things running, and a big 1 for me was the auto sync in settings-account n auto sync...all these help but no way as long as 2.1! iv just installed minicm7 pro 8, claim battery drain is fixed, by paulxxx BIG THANKS paul esp if battery consumptions improved
Just a thread to see what the majority of people are choosing to run right now and which you have tested as well. This is NOT intended to be any type of a bashing thread, just please stick to what you've tested and what you've chosen to currently use.
As for myself, I'm running UnNamed from gtg and have been for a bit now. I've removed a few additional pieces of software that I didn't want and modified the battery icon but other than that, it's pretty much as is.
I've tested and have a backup of CM 7 and I'm planning to test Cognition next...
I am running UnNamed, I had a circle battery mod, but flashed the full update and have stuck with it as-is. I ran Cognition with no issues or complaints, but wanted the extended power menu.
Sent from my SGS II
I'm running Cognition as of yesterday. For a few days before that I was running a stock + root ROM.
I must say, my battery lasts sooooooo much longer since installing Cognition compared to Stock. I just now hit 90% and it's been off the charger (getting regular use: some idle, some web browsing, some pp installs) for about 6 hours now.
I love it.

I'm on Cognition and haven't tried others, yet. It works and as ROMs have appeared, I've pulled what I wanted from them. I get great battery life (3 hours of display time, but lately it's been increasing - yesterday I got 4 and today I'm on pace for over 5 hours of display ). I'm really interested in CM7. I hadn't tried it yet because I'm not convinced that it's bug free (which is important for me). What did you think of it?
I'm getting such poor battery life still, even after rooting and removing data hogs (AP Mobile, etc.), running BBS and CPUSpy to monitor, and turning off unnecessary sync. I'm thinking about moving to Cognition, but I kinda like Touchwiz's interface and the safety of running stock.

I liked CM7. I probably didn't give it enough time to make an accurate assessment of it as I liked the idea of trying UnNamed simply because I like the stock build as it is... minus the garbage bloatware and wanted the extended power menu. I'd highly recommend giving CM7 a shot though. I simply get each rom running and then do a full nandroid backup in case I want to go back in the future - barring any major improvements of course in which case I'll start out fresh.

I have to say that I was never much of a believer in Juice Defender but between running that program and doing a battery calibration with the app, BatteryCalibration, my battery life has increased quite a bit. I've still got Gmail auto syncing but I have turned off 'Back up my data' in Privacy and keep GPS off until I need it. Everything else is running as is. Oh and no Facebook or Words with Friends. I login to Facebook via Dolphin HD when I have to check it on the go.
Running UnNamed 1.0.3 and really like it. Clean, snappy and excellent battery life (yes, better than stock rom).

+1 for UnNamed.... love that rom!
Ive been on cog beta 4 for a while and it is perfect. Picked up DD exp kernal a few days ago and its still perfect. Perfect combo i guess. Battery life is amazing. After 15 hour days i am always getting 4 hours of screen on time along with playing music thoughout the day and few calls and messages data and sync always on.
I have yet to have any problems and gonna make this my offical "go back to, stable rom" when others start to drive me nuts. I would like to just stay on this rom and call it good cause its perfect but that never happens.

Wow.... That sounds impressive. I may need to give that rom a whir then.
People, i have been searching about battery life of all roms, and everyone always have different opinions about this subject.
So my question to you is: on our Xperia Mini Pro x10, what has the best battery life?
The stock 2.1 eclair?
Froyo?
Gb?
Ics? I don't think so xD.
Jb?
battery life in: standby mode, calls, listen to music, and everything else, who is better?
Some say GB ( but i notice that under 20% the battery is not very stable on the percentage counting, and even with more battery than 20% there are some times where it just stays the same number and then boom it drains almost 2% in a second ).
Some say stock eclair ( but i notice that in sleep mode it drains the same battery percentage as if it wasn't on sleep mode ).
Some say JB ( but i think it drained faster than gb, and has many many bugs ).
Some say Froyo ( but i never tried it because in some forums they don't advise it, they always say update to GB and don't use froyo ).
So people, give here your opinions, this will not only help me, this will help everyone that wants to know more about this as well .
Good answers will always deserve a click on the thanks button by me
Cheers
Well I have tried roms since the times o Owain, and all the old devs. so I have tried eclair, custom eclair, froyo, GB with stock, gb with custom, cm7, cm9, cm10.
talking about battery life you have to take into account something first. the use that you give to the phone.
people tend to take a lot into account the % that the battery displays, and do lots of "clear battery stats" (and that doesn't work much) because if you have a max capacity of 970mAh, even if you clear the batstats 1000 times you will still have 970 mAh.
then with this, what you need to know is what kind of use you give to your phone, and when in that kind of use, how many hours of battery you can expect
like every electronic device, the mobile phone have a minimal battery drain.
because it keeps a signal between the cell tower and the phone, to this you have to add things like, the coverage, distance to the tower, the kind of signal (3G - 2G )
that's the minimal drainage of the battery. to this you need to add the usage of bluetooth, and the data.
until here we are talking about the expected drainage of the battery. and here you can see that the same phone can have different levels of drainage, that depends of factors like the location of the phone.
so up to here we can say that a phone has a minimal battery drainage that is affected for external factors.
[up to here with eclair, the drainage was terrible, even with bluetooth off, wifi off, data off, the battery life was between 10 to 13 hours to me, froyo wasn't better, GB with stock bosteed to 15-17 hours, and GB, JB with custom, can get between 19-27 hours, having tweaked the settings. (using the phone just for calling having the most battery duration the days with less calls), with wifi enabled, I can get between 6 hours to 15 hours, it depends of what I'm doing with the phone. (this means, whatsapp, line or whatever app you use for chat and social). and with data, this can be tricky. you can get between 3 to 7 hours data is tricky or special because it gets the drain for being on, the kind of network and the signal strength.
so with all this I want to say, that using the %isn't really accurate to read the battery duration. because it will use more or less battery depending of what you do with the mobile phone.
and there are other things that makes the phone use more or less battery, things like the kind and the number of apps that you install in the phone.
so going back to your question. regarding battery life, the best roms in my opinion will be the GB+ roms, and better if you can use a custom kernel. but again you can't expect a long battery life, if you use your phone intensively
In this moment I'm using kernel 2.6.29.6 nAa-jb-03 rom Jelly Beam mini project release 2 my phone is an U20 mimmi. and my battery times are.
standby mode: 24 - 27 hours
calls: when I have the phone in mode just for calls I can get 16 - 20 hours (and no using the phone for anything else, just calls, no wifi, no data, no bluetooth )
listen to music: I normally use the phone with bluetooth headset. and I combine it with calls so I get 7 - 12 hours.
3G - WIFI in standby: between 10 - 19 hours. (stanby just using to get notifications, mails)
3G on the move; 5 - 6 hours
WIFI: 6 hours if I'm using it. it goes up if mix with pauses etc.
so you can see that the battery life depends a lot of how, and where you use your mobile phone. hope this help a bit. and JFYI, these are my times. it's my personal experience. after using the phone in the conditions described. other users may say other things, but I feel confident, that in any time of the day, I can say, how much time I have left of battery, and how much time will the phone be on, if I do X, or Y thing with it.
tried to write this, with my best english, but again, you can find some grammar off, because Is not my mother language, and my level is just B2.

Well mate thanks for your answer .
Now that you speak about the battery draining according to our use of it, maybe it's better for me to tell some more details then xD.
Actually, i know the percentage that i will drain every day because what i do with the phone is like Automatic and almost the same drain and lasting days xD, so i may say that for me Percentage counts a lot on this question because i notice everyday that the draining is always the same in the tasks i do ( always the same tasks everyday ) xD.
More detailed: Everyday always the same tasks at the same times - 1/2 mini calls ( not answered ), some sms ( not much ), and 1h of music that drains 8-10% everyday of the battery, and some exception Call that i may receive, With only 2g, no wifi, minimum brightness, 480mhz max/19 mhz min, and all other minimum things to save battery. Using Gingersony GB Rom my battery lasts 3 days or almost 3 days with these repeated use of the phone.
So now that you know the kind of use i make, what rom would you advise me? still the Gb rom? or other one? xD.
I also notice that you said well about Gb rom, but analyzing everything you said i saw that you said the JB rom lasted you more than the GB rom, but you said GB was better in battery, i didn't understand that part xD.
Oh and another thing, Music is very important to me so the sound has to be good and loud, and i don't know if any JB version already corrected the Sound Bug :S.
Well, one thing is for sure, Eclair is the worst in battery life in your opinion right? xD.
Thanks again for the good answer .
Cheers

If you mod Eclair a little bit (use jit, insmod x10miniuv.ko for undervolting automatically and removing useless apps) I get around 4 to 5 days mostly standby (few phonecalls, my alarms (about 5 a day), few sms-messages), and it's quite smooth.
The same on the latest JB and the latest 2.6.32.60-JB kernel gives me about 3 to 3.5 days of the same use.

Step 1: If you haven't done this yet:
Go to the folder where you installed flashtool, select the firmware subfolder and delete x10blrelock.ftf, it will brick your phone if you flash it accidentally.
Step 2: Collect some stuff
You will need:
Jit-enabler
CWM-Installer
X10Mini Undervolt module
Root-Explorer
(My apologies to the people who made this stuff, can't remember where i got it all from, so I'm mirroring it from my private cloud)
Copy the first three to your phone's sd-card
Copy the Root Explorer to the flashtool/custom/apps folder on your computer
Step 3: Flash stock firmware (repair with SUS or PC Companion will do nicely)
Step 4: Start flashtool and click the padlock-button to root your phone
Step 5: Click the +-button to install xRecovery to your phone
Step 6: Click the curved arrow button (apk-installer) to install the Root Explorer to your phone
Step 7: Turn off your phone and boot into xRecovery (Eclair does not have a reboot option)
Step 8: Install zip from sd-card: Choose CWM-installer and reboot back into Recovery
Step 9: Install zip from sd-card: Choose JIT-enable
Step 10: Reboot
I think you have to start Root-explorer, press menu-button, preferences, root options and tick root-explorer, up-to-root (or something like that) and mount system as r/w (or something like that)
My language isn't set to english so i can't properly check the english wording.
Step 11: Copy the x10miniuv.ko from your sd-card into /system/lib/modules
Set permissions to rw-r--r-- (long press file-name, properties, it shows permissions and a change-button)
Edit /system/etc/hw_config.sh and insert the line 'insmod /system/lib/modules/x10miniuv.ko' without the quotes.
Reboot!
You can now use Root-explorer to delete unwanted apps from your /system/app folder, and from the /data/app folder. (Leave the root-explorer in there)
Start with looking at running services, you can delete all apk's that are running at startup, except for the clock, settings and input-method.
There is quite a lot of stuff you can delete, if you're not sure you can either:
1: Just leave it in
2: Rename the .apk to .apk2 and see if your phone still works as you want (If it doesn't rename it back to .apk and you'll be fine)
3: Search for list of apps safe to remove on these forums
4: Ask if something is safe to delete or not.
I can't promise you 4 or 5 days of battery-life, but it will be as battery-efficient as anything else out there.
Have fun and let us know your experience .

Thank you very much man .
I'm going out now but in 6/7 hours when i get back home i'll do what you just said and let you now the results .
Question: Does this also make The sleep/plain mode as battery efficient as GB roms in that mode?. Is it possible to also change themes and status bar? The JB and ICS status bar apks that are downloadable on playnow or something like that are very very buggy :S, so if you know a good one tell me .
Cheers

Yes, it turns down the voltage when the phone runs under 600Mhz, so it will use next to nothing in sleep-mode (How do you think i get 4 days out of it )
Not sure about themes and mods, never really looked into that, see in the apps and themes section if there's anything half decent available. Or maybe you can put in a request there.
Also try this [ROM] 2.1.1.Clean.0.0 v6
Clean version of latest Android version 2.1 (Eclair) by Sony Ericsson
It's for Pro

I knew it existed but i never knew if it was good because i tried other 2.1 roms that the battery seemed a little worse than GB :S xD.
So are you saying that, that clean rom you just mentioned has 4-5 days battery like SmG67 says it's possible to do? Or it's better to flash original eclair and then do those steps SmG67 told me on it?

For that effect do i have to put Undervolt on? I never used it because of the instability issue and i don't want to head shot my phone faster xD, is it safe to do?.
Good , in all roms i tried they only drained 0% or 1% in sleep mode but only when the battery is at 100% but... when i turn off sleep mode it will drain 1-2% very fast ( few minutes ), if it is at 57% for example it will drain almost normally ( 4-6% ), that always have been my problem as well :S xD. But with this steps you just told me, that won't happen again?.
Yes i could request, but i'm gonna search first xD, i like doing things by myself and only when i say i can't do it then i'll ask for help xD.
I'm gonna do Both options right now , i'll tell you results when i have them and thanks in advance .

I always use the undervolt, no matter what rom i'm on and my phone is not experiencing any instabilities. And it certainly won't kill your phone any faster, as a matter of fact, lowering the voltage means less heat and longer life, lol.
My usual drain on stock rom with undervolt is around 20% per 24 hours in normal use, Checking now how much an hour of music will take out of it

Lol if you say it's safe then i'll try xD, but... if Gb last me 3 days without undervolting, does this mean that if i used undervolt the GB version would last 4 days instead of 3? xD, maybe not because i don't think that undervolt will give Extra 24h xD.
'x10miniuv.ko' and 'Jit Enable u10i' but my phone is x10 mini 'pro', is this file correct for my phone? xD.
That's a very good lasting phone you got there , at the end of the day i get about 30-36% drain xD. Check an hour but also Half an hour xD , in half an hour i drain 4-5% xD.
Hope my phone really don't die in undervolt because i listen to music everyday Louder than the limit of 100db and that pushes CPU a little xD, i use mixzing and i always turn up the volume to 100-103db xD.
