Just bought one from BodyGuardz in carbon fiber white, anybody else have any experiences?
http://www.bodyguardz.com/carbon-fiber-asus-eee-pad-transformer-bundle.html
I also used the coupon "guard" to get $3 off.
i was thinking about getting one of these. Does it interfere with the dock or alter wifi reception by any chance?
i have no clue but I can post when I get it later this week.
Seems like its pretty thin. Looks pretty slick. I wouldn't mind a white one but $30 is a big gamble.

Ill post pics when I get it, I just love the feel of carbon fiber.
white looks good...in theory. once you have it on, and there's black lines sticking out form the original case, it looks a bit off. i'd recommend to go with the black.

I get all my skinz and screen protectors from Pantom Skinz. The white carbon looks siiik on the Transformer. The skinz are so good that I had to RMA my first TF and I just peeled the skin from the back and reapplied it to the new TF and I was golden. There worth every penny I think. The skins are from 3M so there good quality. Here are some pics of mine. I've used just about every screen protector out there on my EVO 4G and Viewsonic g-tablet and the Phantom Skinz is by far the best IMO. The screen protector for the TF is so thin and releases all the bubbles so well that it's like it doesn't even have one on. It's that good. The screen protectors for tablets also have a protective cap sheet so once all of your bubbles are gone you just remove it and it's so clear on your TF that you can't even tell it's there.

wow! That looks OEM mate. Very slick
I had one from Skinomi on my iPad 2 and it was quite hard to peel off when I got rid of the iPad.
It did look great and protected the iPad.
Does it interfere with docking?
Nice, reminds me of what I did on my nexus S, but that was custom made by me, just bought the 3M sticker.
I may look it up and see how much it'd be.

The large skin fits well on the length but is too short on the height (short). The extra trim pieces are just flat out wrong. one piece has two holes that appear tobe for on/off and volume rocker but both holes are the same size and the holes are not placed in the right location. There just appears to be no human testing the pieces, or someone thinks the skin fits multiple tablets. It is a shame since technology exists for a perfect fit. With such a bad economy one could easily excel in the business with just providing perfection. Phantom skin is not the one, look elsewhere.

I have the Skinomi Skin and it's thin enough where you can completely lock the tablet into the dock.
The switch doesn't slide all the way to the lock position when mounting it, but you can give the switch a slight push to lock it in.
I originally had the SGP skin, and it's too thick, so the switch will not slide over to the lock position.
If you don't mind having to push the switch over manually, it's not a problem.

Last week I ordered this case for $3,48. Received it today and I think it's great! The HD clicks in perfectly and the case itself looks a lot more expensive than it is actually. It has been sewn with brown thread which gives it a little more 'hip' effect. The case has a magnetic lock and it has been finished pretty well, made by synthetic leather.
All buttons and stylus are still available, except for the headphone jacket.
Only thing is that when you are calling with the case on, it looks like you're calling with a very very big clamshell phone

I have bought the Emily Fashion case - they are fantastic - less then £2 delivered from Hong Kong - arrived in 4 days with a free (if a tad crappy) screen protector. I cant fault the case it has a slightly rubberised feel and fits perfectly. I find all the leather case solutions a bit bulky this is much more minimalist whilst still looking good and protecting the sides and bottom of the phone from those annoying chips and scratches
yes i already received the emily case and it is great. Everyone loves the green color :d
Is emily case made from rubber material that attract dust? I have a rubber case. I have to remove and clean the case regularly. Even so, small scratches can be seen on the sides of the HD.
Hi All. Other than the link posted at the start, does anyone know where to get these or what to search for? I was hoping to find a white one. Searched all combo's of Emily Fashion Case and HTC Touch HD and got nowhere except back here!
Cheers
Dez
p.s. anyone looking to buy a white case, DO NOT get a noreve ivory leather case. The white leather one looks white. The white ivory one is a dull grey. Boo. Got a refund tho...
Hello gang!
Just had my Asus Eee Pad Transformer Chromatics skin come in from Phantom Skinz and wanted to show you how it looks on the Asus Transformer. Posted a quick little video for you to see below. Overall I am happy with it. Give it a solid 8 out of 10. Adds a new flair to the device and looks very crisp and clean. If whats not your thing they also have it in black:

How hard was it to apply? Does the dock peel the skin after inserting it?
That looks pretty cool.I've just ordered one myself. Thanks for the share.

I installed the black version a few days ago. It plays nice with the dock - I have to manually slide the lock switch after instering the Transformer, but otherwise no issues.
I'd give the chromatics skin a 6/10. Love the clear Phantom Skinz screen protector, and the chromatics skin is cut from high quality 3M automotive skinning vinyl, but the pieces are too small (they have left too much border to ease installation) which allows quite a bit of the bronze case color to show through.
This bothers me more than most, probably. I'm keeping the skin on because it looks okay and will provide excellent protection.

Well said and agree with you on all points. Also not a fan of the front facing stickers that go on the side, feel a little disconnected from the rest, but still overall I think its cool and I feel a little better knowing my Transformer is safer from damage.

I don't have the dock so not sure. But according to others they have no issue. Applying it was real easy, just takes a little time to make sure you line it all up.

Received my screen protector and white phantom skin. Both are great.Fitted well apart from one piece which wasnt cut correctly.I emailed the company and they agreed to send me a replacement piece.Great customer service, would highly recommend.Agree about the front facing stickers that go on the side,so i didn't fit them, still looks awsome.
The only issue i had is that the skin fitted makes docking the tablet a little bit harder.I have to shuffle the tablet back and forth to get it to dock correctly.

Is it 3M vinyl? I got some white carbon fiber vinyl which are very poor quality.
I made my own skin.

Has anybody here used the Decalgirl skins before? They look really nice and I was thinking of getting one for my View.
I havent used that specific brand of decal skins but I have 3 different decals I got from eBay a while back for my EVO 4g phone and they are decent for protection but even better in the looks department.
Sent from my HTC Flyer P512 using XDA Premium App
I might give them a try
They are cheaper than Skin-it's offerings for the flyer and I like the matte finish option - less cheesy looking.
That being said, I have a Skin-it decal on an 5 year old laptop and it still looks great.
I purchased the matte finish Haiku skin from decalgirl and am very pleased with the results. I will probably take the front frame skin off my Flyer because I don't think it adds anything to the tablet. Plus, I didn't line up the home, options, and back cut outs as well as I would have liked. As an added bonus, decalgirl includes a free JPEG download of the image which I think looks way cool. The water ripples in the picture align well with the decal frame.
Overall quality of the skin is excellent. The back was easy to apply and adjust. I don't think the thin frame skin would survive too much adjustment before it starts to stretch.

It looks nice, got me thinking about getting one now. How does it feel in the hand?
The matte finish on the flyer feels the same as without the decal. Really no difference.

Is it just the back and a thin frame? Or is there a screen protector? Not interested in the frame part. Just wanted a back and screpen protector.
It actually came in 5 pieces. The back, the SD card cover, the frame and two pieces to cover the thin strip below the power button and the USB end. I didn't bother putting on the thin strips and I took the frame cover off in a couple of days because I think the shiny frame looks better.
The decal doesn't come with a screen protector but I have one from zagg which I highly recommend.
I am very pleased with the decal and the included wallpaper download is a nice touch.

looks nice , thanks
I purchased a DecalGirl Skin for a client's Macbook Air. Very impressive, and good customer service. I didn't get the Matte...we ordered the glossy. It was incredibly precise, and even wrapped around the keyboard. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again...especially since a lot of their skins have a matching wallpaper to complete the look.
Ok folks.. I have been looking for a back cover for my gtablet and I found one at NewEgg. It comes in both Black and Clear... for those of you that are interested its a polycarbinate material.... And is only 13.00, its suppose to have all the right cut outs and such....
The Company name is GreatShield Guardian Series Slim-Fit PolyCarbonate Hard Case for ViewSonic gTablet 10.1 Multi-Touchscreen Tablet
Found the same on buy.com for $10.95
I opted for a case with keyboard. Here :- http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004JF9N1O/ref=oh_o01_s00_i00_details
The case is hard leather the keyboard and stand are a bonus, I figured it may come it useful to have a keyboard close by. If you need a keyboard it's worth a little extra.
Why not to electroniccrap.com have a look.. There are many toies for Gtablet..
Did you buy this greatshield case? Thoughts?

Just ordered mine today through Amazon as I wanted to get something else so I was able to get free shipping. Now just need to sit and wait for it..stated for delivery sometime next week. I'll post back with my thoughts.
Recieved this item.
Yes I did use GreatShield, I wanted it in black and it was only offered in clear thru Newegg. So I went to the Greatshield site and ordered in in black. And it arrived 5 days later, via USPS.
Works like a charm, all the cut outs are correct. NO shape edges and it pops right on. It was worth the wait and the price.
Well the Greatshield back cover arrived today. First impression wasn't what I was expecting...I was thinking it was more like the material like those Cruzerlite covers are made of for phones. This is actually just hard plastic with a painted black soft touch paint on it, kind of like the soft touch plastics found in many cars. Actually VZW sells sliding belt holsters which are pretty much the same concept as this cover. Either way its another layer on the back of the tablet that adds a little bit more thickness which I actually don't mind plus the soft touch paint gives it more grip.
All ports and physical buttons are exposed which is great but the only thing which could bother some is access to the micro sdcard slot/USB port cover is a little difficult. You will have to peel the back cover off slightly to get it opened if you access that slot and port. Oh getting this thing off is kind of a pain since the tablet is a little bigger than a phone. I find sitting on the couch while trying to get the cover off is better just incase things go flying.
Anyways on to the pictures (sorry for the blurry pictures, these were taken with my Droid X):

The extra grip must be nice.
I always worry when I one hand mine that it is going to slip out of my hands since it's kind of slick.
Hey, I bought a Slickwrap a very long time ago during a promo but never applied it. I'm getting bored of the Midnight Blue back. How slippery it is also plays a role.
Anyway, I've heard that removing the original back and directly applying the leather skin is suboptimal. Consider the picture below/attached. I heard that the holes in the chassis result in noticeable depressions on the surface of the skin. Slickwraps used to sell a very thin back that provided rigidity underneath that soft leather. Does anyone know of a good alternative? I considered getting another skin, but I'm not confident that would provide enough rigidity.
The reason I wouldn't apply it directly to the stock back is because then the device would be too thick to fit in my Diztronic or Ringke Slim.

I've used all of the Natural line of wraps at slickwraps at one point or another on my N6. I was lucky to have purchased the plastic "replacement" back they sold optionally then.
I've seen others suggest that applying a thicker vinyl skin helps but if I were you I'd look into buying a 8x11 sheet of thin plastic from one of several places online. There is a thread on XDA with links but a quick Google search would net several sources I'm betting. Your correct in not applying it directly to the device's mid frame, it will show every indentation and lump and look horrible.

Hi m8, I am currently running a dbrand skin and in the past I also tried slickwrap one and they fit very nicely inside a case. I have distronic, CaseMate and Spigen and I wont interfere.
The tough indents to hide are the two large ones on the left and right about an inch from the bottom. I cut out (pretty precisely), and placed two pieces of paper the exact shape of the cutaways and it worked for me.
Maybe you could buy the adhesive alone, and try to get some back protector films, just like the ones for screen. and then apply slickwrap on it.
Another thing to watch out for on the real leather slickwraps is the color coming off! I bought a black one and , while it did look nice for awhile, the black color came off on my microsuction wireless charger, and every time I wiped it clean with nothing but a water-dampened cloth. Pity, it looked so nice at the start.
My copy is on its way as well. My thought was to maybe use an old glass screen protector. Would this work or is the curve of the back too much?
