copy the contents onto your computer, format the SD card on your evo, connect your evo to your computer, and copy everything back onto your phone

i can not mount the memory card. it keeps on saying sd card blank or has unsupported filesystem every time i try to mount it and when i press on sd card blank or has unsupported filesystem it says format i press on format and it doesnt delete anything. it only says checking sd card and then sd card blank or has unsupported filesystem pops up on the notification bar again.
what happens on the computer?
nothing happens

I messed up SD Card mounting on Megatron, so I flashed back to stock with KDZ. SD Card still doesn't mount, and isn't being recognized. The notification bar just says "SD Card removed. Insert new one." So...is it time to send this phone back for warranty?
It's time to format your card using your card reader maybe it helps.

Did that. Unless there are specific settings to format with? If so, in Windows7, what allocation and stuff do i select?

Default fat 32 should be just fine to begin with. If the card is still unrecognized, you should try with some cheap 2 Gb card and see if system recognize it...
If system doesnt recognize any sd, send for warranty
Hello all. I've read other threads about this before but none of them have a fix for me. My sdcard was working perfectly fine but i decided to wipe the sdcard. so i went to settings and pressed erase sd card. I then get "Blank sd card" in notification area and the error message "sdcard blank or has unsupported file system" when i try to mount sd card it gives me the same error. what do i do? please help
EDIT: I'm running cm7 if that helps
Bump...........

Hi,
I'm running into the same issue. My problem is that I don't have a Windows machine or card reader. I tried erasing the card, I also rebooted into recovery mode and formatted it, but to no avail.
Is there a way to run the "Terminal Emulator" app within the Nook Color to format the microSD card? I did try it, but I'm unable to figure out which /dev belongs to the microSD card.
I'm running CyanogenMod-7.1.0-encore, build GWK74. I have a ScanDisk 8GB card.
My android refuses to see my SD Card it seems.
I can access it, copy etc etc on a computer, but on the phone it says that I need to insert a SD Card in order to mount it.
Any solutions?

Might be worth backing it up and re formatting I had similar issue and eventually my laptop stopped recognising it too. Turned out the SD was corrupt so I'd back it up regardless.

So I had a 16 gb external sd card in my rezound, realized that I would like more space so I bought a 32 gb card. The new card worked for about a week and no longer works. I have an sd card exploring app and it sees the files on the card but my phone does not even recognize the card is inserted.
Another thing to mention is that with the old card, my phone would not display the available space on it or give me the options to unmount and mount. Now when I put both of these cards in an sd card reader and insert them into my desktop the computer does not see that a card has been inserted. I have checked it with other mini SDs that I have and the computer sees them, so I don't know what gives! Any ideas??
P.S. I am running on the ICS 3.14.605.10 RUU
Sounds like you have a bad card, can you format it?

Well the weird thing is that both the stock and the card I bought are doing the same thing. And I tried formatting, but since I can't view the cards on my computer or phone I have no way of formatting.

If you have TWRP or Amon, mount USB storage and format from your computer.

I have the exact same problem. I tried switching cards and formatted the new one before I put everything on it. It still is missing after every reboot...Annoying, but at least it's still there....
Not sure if this is the issue but it may help to try:
If you are on GB firmware and running an ICS rom, download and flash this in recovery. It is a GB firmware patch and after you flash it, sd card mounting problems are fixed.
It just keeps saying "SD card safe to remove" in the Notifications and when I go to "Storage' in Settings and try to mount the card, it says it's mounting it and then immediately goes back to "SD card safe to remove".
This also happens from a complete wipe and clean install of 3.0. This also happens if I take out the SD card and pop it back in.
The SD card is working on my computers. It's just the phone.

What's the format of your SD card? exFAT or FAT32?
Mine is exFAT and I think that's the issue. Is there any way to format an exFAT SD card to FAT32 from Android itself?
