I then get "Blank sd card" in notification area and the error message "sdcard blank or has unsupported file system" when i try to mount sd card it gives me the same error. what do i do? please help

Hi,
I'm running into the same issue. My problem is that I don't have a Windows machine or card reader. I tried erasing the card, I also rebooted into recovery mode and formatted it, but to no avail.
Is there a way to run the "Terminal Emulator" app within the Nook Color to format the microSD card? I did try it, but I'm unable to figure out which /dev belongs to the microSD card.
I'm running CyanogenMod-7.1.0-encore, build GWK74. I have a ScanDisk 8GB card.

[Solved] [Q] Mounting External MicroSD

I may have encountered a hardware problem with my SGS2. Hopefully I'm wrong, and it can be corrected with software. Anyway, I have a 4GB MicroSD inserted into the phone, but it is not recognised at all.
Under "Settings > Storage" the SD card section says unavailable for both "Total space" and "Available space". The options for mounting and formatting the SD card are greyed out.
At first I thought the MicroSD might not be listed there, and instead was /sdcard/external_sd, but when I copied some files to that directory, they were not on the card when I checked on my old phone. I also copied a file from my PC to the card via my old phone, then searched, to no avail, to find it on the Galaxy S II.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
Format the card via PC card reader . I just shoved 16GB card in and it works .
jje
I have done that. It works in my Xperia X1i. Should I be using FAT32? That is what the card us formatted as, but maybe I should try ext4 or ntfs?

Fat32 should be fine, check the card for errors on your pc? I've just put my 16gb in and it's working fine...
Do you think it could be a fault with the phone? Maybe a damaged card reader? When the card is accessible, where in the file system is it found? /mnt? I know the internal storage is /mnt/sd card.
EDIT:
Never mind, I borrowed another MicroSD, which worked fine. The problem must be with the formatting of the card. Thanks for the help people.

[Q] Won't read micro sd card

Hey, so i have Leedroids honeycomb rom on the wifi only flyer, i flashed it etc with the sd card, but soon after it stopped working.
The card itself works fine in my mobile and my brothers card works in the flyer.
it just says "Space unavailable" there fix for this?
I tried formating it with minitool partition wizard which didn't help.
Have you tried pulling it out and reinstalling with a reboot? Or maybe try mounting the sd-ext in your recovery? Can you get to the ext-sd using a file manager like ES?
Hi I have a similar problem
These last few days all was erased from my external sd card. I have Leedroid 3.1, so I tried to install 4.3 to see if it is more stable, and I cannot seem mount the internal storage in CWM. It says not found, so I cannot try another ROM.
Bummer!

Yeah iv rebooted it, and tried it from recovery it just says theres no sd card,
theres no "ext-sd" but theres sdcard which leedroids rom uses so simulate a card storage or something, (uses tablets memory) actural sd card would be "sdcard 2" or somthin alone those lines.
If you open your file explorer/manager, are you able to access and browse the external sd card that way?
Also, I am running LeeDroid's ROM and my internal storage is shown as the "sd card" and the regular external sd is mounted as "ext-sd".

no, it doesn't come up, which is strange because my brothers card works so its not the flyer or the card (which also works in my phone)
i would normaly just put it down as "compatibility issues" but it did work, heck i installed leedroids rom from it, but just ordered a new 16gb card so its not the end of the world if its just not compatible, just seams strange

[Q] Can't keep SD card mounted, unmounts itself.

Just flashed my Bell MB860 to CM10 following an instruction guide I found on AndroidAuthority. It works great, I'm very happy to have Android 4 on a network that isn't going to support it.
But I can't mount my SD card anymore. I go to settings->storage-> and click mount SD card, and my notification bar first says "preparing SD card for use...", then it says "your SD card is now ready to safely remove". It unmounts it as fast as it can mount it. What the heck is going on here?
Thanks for any help in advance!

Nevermind, fixed it. I had to reformat my SD card. Not sure how or why, but at some point in the ROM flashing process, it's partition table got corrupted. When I plugged the card into my computer, it was able to read the card's MFT and display the files, but it couldn't tell how much free space was available, it just said 0 bytes. Formatting appears to have fixed that problem. Good thing I backed it up before flashing.
Very weird.

[Q] How to mount my external sd card on Neutrino Rom v2.9?

Hi guys, first of all, congratulations on the excellent work!!!
I have this problem: I installed Neutrino Rom 2.9 on my motorola Atrix (at&t), but after the installation, the system seems not recognize my external sd card.
I try remounting it from the recovery, but the recovery can`t do it either.
I think the problem starts when the folder /system is formatted (if I manually do the format, the recovery stops mounting the sd card since that moment)
When I plug the phone to the computer the sd card is neither recognized. Only shows the internal sd card.
Anybody has the same problem? there exists any solution?
Thanks!
Quite frankly, it's kinda hard to imagine formatting /system would do this. It seems more likely your SD card is just borked somehow.
I'd put it in a card reader and plug it into the computer and run some filesystem checks if I were you.
I don't think the card is the problem. The phone recognizes it perfectly before flash the rom. Other roms that I tried also recognizes it.
Maybe i have to format the SD card to a specific filesystem to neutrino can mount it? Now is formatted in fat32.
Thanks!

If your card has no partitions then it won't be recognized by your PC. Guessing you're using windows, so go into your device manager to find your SD card slot then create an "SD CARD" partition that fills the entire card. It will be able to read it then.
