It took me a while to figure it out, but that was the problem. Anyone else have this issue? I'm s-off and rooted and that is it. Maybe I missed something in setup? Anyways it is gone now and I'm back to sense.
Ive had no issues with go launcher.
Are you sure that was it?
I'm almost certain. Narrowed it down by deleting apps. After I uninstalled it, my phone showed a time diff immediately.
I'm running Go Launcher and my phone sleeps without issue.
My phone stays awake too. Still trying to determine the culprit. I too have go installed

Are there any apps out there that are known to make the photon unresponsive? Mine is rooted, locked and stock. My phone will just lock up for 30 seconds or more. When trying to start an app nothing will happen for long periods until they finally starting. Also when typing in the browser, often the browser will just shut down while I am typing. Any ideas appreciated

you might try a battery pull, or a factory reset. has this started after you installed anything new? try a factory reset but dont install any programs and let it sync and run for a day or so to see if the problem persists. if it does, try unrooting back to 100% stock and see if the issue is still there.

I have a similar experience. From time to time, when I type, the letters appear in the keyboard app but not actually in the field in which I'd like to to type. And when this is happening, I am also not able to call ANYONE! I must reboot and sometimes do a battery pull to get things back in order. NOT COOL! What if I am in trouble and need to make a quick phone call? It might be too late by the time I pull out the battery and restart.
Actually the entire app (browser) closes while typing.
I removed a few suspect apps and it seems to have calmed down.......
Will see how it goes. I hate to have to nuke the whole phone and start over

happens to me too... even when doing a "fast reboot" it doesn't necessarily fix it either... doing that along with actually turning off and on seems to do it...

My phone randomly rebooted 7 times today and I don't even own a car dock! I cannot find the source of the problem(s). Btw, this is my 2nd phone for the same reasons. I haven't even put all of my apps back on it yet. I may do another reset to see what happens.
Problem is when I apply a new Rom everything works fine for about one week. Then I start getting this issue if i go to settings or messaging I can't back out. I have to do a battery pull. Search back menu home. When i touch those options nothing happens. Kinda like its froze up. Power option works too to reboot the phone and everything works fine for another week then starts up again. Not sure if its a hardware issue or not. Haven't tried going back to stock. Has anybody had this issue. Would appreciate any help.

Are you using a 3rd party app for messages or a theme or launcher? What rom you on?
no real weird i have tried multiple roms does the same thing on all of them. did not start having this issue until that last ota update, i relocked my phone unrooted etc. then updated to that last ota, waited for some devs to come out with roms based on that ota, then unlocked again and rooted and applied viper rom it happened on that rom, tried scotts clean rom same thing and a few others i get the same thing after about a weeks of use i start getting the freezing thing where i cant back out of certain things, like if i go to setting mms etc. pretty much anythaing i go into i cant back out or the search or home menu and menu does not work when i touch it, only way i can get out is power button reboot or just battery pull, then everything is back to normal for a week, im thinking its a hardware issue but not sure. i guess im going to try to relock unroot again and see if i get the same issue, if i do wouldnt you think its a hardware issue ? And i am not using any special launchers just what comes with the rom.
I got this out my phone a few weeks ago when I checked to see if I had an ICS update :thumbdown:
Of course I didn't.
Well now this message "connecting to DM server" stays in my notification bar. It also stays running. I did a check to see how much they battery life it was eating and it was well over 60%.
I tried the settings, manage apps, att update, clear cache but it still ran.
I finally used app quarantine to stop it.
Well now that we may get ICS soon I want the update option to run with out it running at all times.
Anyone else having this issue?

I had the problem today. Went to manage Running Apps and was able to stop.
If this does not work, did you try rebooting the phone?
I have tried resting the phone.
I even shut the phone off and took the battery out for 5 min.
It won't go away unless I put it in app quarantine.

Mine just started showing this in the notification tray yesterday. I can freeze it and the notification goes away, but I don't think we want to delete it though, right? Isn't this how the phone connects to the AT&T server to get software updates? I figure I'll freeze it for a few days then defrost it and see if it fixes itself or connects to the server.
Sometimes when I place a call, the phone will lag and not place the call for 30 seconds up to 10 minutes. If I tap on someone's phone number, the phone registers that it's been tapped but the phone won't start dialing. Further attempts are the same. If I let the phone sit, at some point it will eventually and suddenly dial the first number I tried to call. Any additional numbers I had attempted to call will then be dialed immediately upon the end of the call to the previous number.
During this time some apps will open immediately, and others will have the same behavior as trying to place calls - they won't open until some time later.
Anyone else dealing with this issue? If so, which ROM are you using? If not, which ROM are you using? Any solution(s) available?
I know I'm no help at all here, but I remember this being talked about a LOOONNG time ago. Hopefully someone from that conversation is still around and will chime in here.
FWIW, I don't have that problem, and I'm on stock rooted locked. Didn't have it unlocked on cm7, cm9, or MIUI, either. At the same time, I don't make very many phone calls. Usually none most days, at most three or four on a busy day.

My phone is on rooted locked stock too! That's why this issue is puzzling to me. It seems to get worse over time so I am going to do a factory reset to see if that helps. If I only make 3-4 calls a day, I probably would not notice the issue either but since I use my phone for business, this issue is extremely annoying and time consuming.
My version of this issue is not exactly the same -- when I go to the dialer screen and start punching the numbers, I often get a delay (maybe a second or so) before the numbers start showing up. Also annoying, though I don't make enough calls for it to drive me crazy.
I've had a similar problem to that, though mine was apparently caused by some conflict between my launchers (go Launcher / ADW Ex) and cardock mode.
I've since SBFed back to 198_7 and the delay issue has mostly gone away. I occasionally have a noticable delay ~1 sec or less, but the big problems are gone.

I'm back to using Go Launcher 3.xx and after the wipe, things are much better. I am slowly adding my programs back in when I need them and have avoided the big lag. I would use ADW Ex but the Go Launcher Calendar Widget in Agenda mode can't be beat, and I use that for my work calendar.

Go Launcher EX?
I was having the same issues and my apps wouldn't open right away. Got tired of it. Took my phone to best buy and got a replacement. So far no problems. Other than my phone got stuck in vibrate mode and sprint rep at the local sprint store fixed that. My phone isn't rooted either.

After rooting my stock ICS 211 razr, everything seemed to be great. now all of a sudden, the search and home buttons are completely useless and there is no longer a lockscreen, no matter what i set it to be.
i think i have the same problem as this guy; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1775206
it could have something to do with the sms limit remover app i just ran, which caused my phone to reboot, i walked away so i cant remember if it was immediately after i ran that app :/ reboot does nothing. another thing i noticed was that my titanium backup freaked out and said my id number or something had changed and asked if i wanted to switch it back, so i did, but that didn't fix it. i would prefer not resetting it or restoring it or anything as whatever has happened might just be restored again. anybody have any ideas??
