Touch the bottom side and four buttons under the invalid.
What is the problem?
The engineering mode screen calibration packages useful?

Uh? Your not making any sense

I second that.

What did you do to it to cause that? Were you flashing something or formatting something? You're not making much sense... could be a damaged PDS which is causing this or physical damage.

Translation???

[Q] DX2 Screen problems

I'm having some issues with my DX2's screen, sometimes if I apply pressure around where the hardware buttons on the bottom are the screen will select something much further up on the screen. I assume it's something to do with my parts being to pushed together but I'm not sure. If anyone has any idea how I can fix this it would be super appreciated.
I've ran into a similar screen issues while on stock 418 OTA also had another issue. It was as if I already had a finger on the screen while using stock browser so when I go to touch it automatically zooms in and out. Even continues to do so even if I take my finger off the screen. Strangely I've enough never had these is on 2.34 tho.

Are you on stock or a ROM?
I was on stock 2.3.5 and on CM9 the times it has happened.

Not that often but usually once a day. I believe it's a hardware problem with something to do with the piece right below my buttons and the rest of the phone if you know what I'm talking about.

If you're still under warranty from moto then probably. Otherwise, you would have to pay the replacement fee if you have insurance through version.

roms have nothing to do with it in any case ????
Its very rare but a dirty flash could cause misalignment. Completely different symptoms however.

I don't know but when my touch was the same issue I restore sbf and some correction was done.

[Q] Touchscreen OFF + Screen ON

Is there a mod allowing (with a button combination) to disable completely the touchscreen while leaving the screen on?
When I show a picture around, if anybody grabs my phone, 99% of the times they end up touching the screen (especially if they are not familiar with the SGS3 thin borders) messing up the display.
***** slap anyone who grabs the phone.. Problem sorted

What Rom are you using?
Can you try a different Rom and have them work?
Does this happen in recovery as well?

I'm currently using carbon. I have tryed using other roms ( though most of them are Cm 10.1 based) still get unresponsiveness. Yes it does happen in recovery.

OK, Did you drop your phone? Did you get it wet? It definately sounds like hardware.
There's not much you can do. Try cleaning the inside of your phone with canned air, and clean all the gold colored contacts in the back cover and back of your phone with a rubber eraser. Make sure you get all of the rubber residue out too.
Your phone may not be seated correctly in the back cover. This would be an alignment issue. make sure there isn't anything preventing the phone from snapping into the the cover correctly.
you can also try pulling off the back cover an see if you can operate the buttons using the button from the inside. Did that make sense?

[Help] S4 Screen Flickers When the Phone is cold?

Hey friendly members of XDA,
My phone started to flicker recently and I could not figure out why it does this...
http://youtu.be/uhSOd6tlVgw
I did not have any water damage or physical damage to my phone but it started doing this randomly. When my phone gets colder, the screen starts to flicker, then half of the screen flickers with a yellow hue, then after a while the screen will be yellow. Also, while the phone is cold, the screen will not turn on. (I failed to show this in the video). Is there something I can do to fix this?
When I warm my phone up with my hands, the flickering goes away and everything goes back to normal.
Thank you,
Jerry

Sounds like a graphical blobs problem but I don't how internal temperature could affect that.

What should I do? My phone is still under warranty. Should I send it in?
Since your phone is still under warranty, you'd better send it to Samsung after-sales department for checking. Maybe it is free!

It's up to you but I probably would. If something physical is affecting your phone then there's some type of hardware issue with your phone. Unfortunately xda can only help with software.

Well you could try flashing the latest Adreno drivers for our phone in recovery, if you still have SafeStrap that is.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ygyqpqmz6m30yuj/UPDATE-adreno-drivers-jflte9505.zip
Filename says i9505 but it's good for our Verizon S4s too.
Probably is a hardware issue if you've already tried Odin and different ROMs but hey worth a try if your going to send it back anyways.

similar screen flickering problem in cold ish environment, diagnosis.
I have a similar flickering problem. Is related to "cold temper.". There is a translucent rectangle that pops-up and overlays 80% of the screen (lower side) - it flickers. The rectangle is light grey and the screen icons etc are underneath it. However, the grey gets more and more dense and eventually, the rectangle becomes solid grey with less flicker, then, you can no longer see the screen contents beneath it. Also, the overlaid rectangle grows to about 95% of the screen. Only part of the notification line on top is visible. Amazingly, the screen and touching the various icons and buttons still works 100% perfectly ... only problem is you cannot see what you are touching ; . . . so you have to guess where the various icons and buttons are, . . . and touch them accordingly (blindly so to speak). I suspect there is a background "phantom" task that is running, pertinent to various sensors ( ex. proximity) that is misbehaving. This phantom task likely is launched after a wake-up or re-boot event. Eventually, the phantom task slows-down its strange work, the flickering and the greyness of the translucent rectangle is reduced, and after few seconds it goes away and the phone works fine again. So my diagnosis is: some kind of fault between a background running task and the GPU O/S driver. The problem is critical in that if you are out in a snow-storm scenario and want to use your phone, simply, you won't be able to, the flickering obstruction can last 5-10 minutes.
Has anybody solved the problem with 100% satisfactory result ?

Hi mate,
I am facing the same issue so how exactly did you fix it? Was it a hardware problem?
Thanks

I'm 99% sure it's a hardware problem. I fixed it by switching to the LG G4.
