hi hello frnz plz help me out...i am not much used to flashig....i managed to install CM6.1.3 on my xperia...i want to try TripNMiUI froyo,...my bb is 54.....i jus want to knw how..to run trips rom without rmoving wofbrks rom.....i mean not backing up..bt can i get an option like boot frm any of the two
Nope dual boot is not possible for now, the only way is backing up that you yourself mentioned
Just backup both roms with xrecovery and you can easily switch between roms by restoring in less than 5 min.
That WOULD be an awesome feature to have. But yes unfortunately, as mentioned, your going to have to back up and restore. Which shouldn't be too complicated.
DooMLorD is working on something of this sort of stuff.
basically dual boot manager.
Definetly cant wait for this feature
k thnk u guys fo ya reply.....so lets wait n c...if some devs come up with tat awesome feature......n tat will make our xperia..a BOMB....xperia roXXX...:-D
Hi, if i backup wolfbreaks rom when my x10 is on baseband .54 but after that i flash my baseband to .52 and then trips rom, when i restore wolfbreak's rom, do i need to reflash the baseband to .54 again?

yes.......
To avoid flashing each time you should just install trips rom and then use the bbpatch to fix it... or wait a few days as trips rom is almost on unified baseband... which means it can be installed on any.... hope this helps

Is there a reliable way to back-up the default Froyo ROM yet? I would like to give Gingerbread a try, but only if I can back up the official Froyo ROM with confidence ... Thanks in advance for any thoughts ...

Download latest FROYO (official samsung) from samfirmware.com and you safe to go.
Cheers
I'd prefer to backup the entire rom if possible, i.e. including apps and data. So that if I have limitations with Gingerbread, I can put my phone back to how it is now, with one click ... ?

You could check this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1121192
or
use titanium backup in combination with latest froyo firmware from samfirmware.com
Hi everybody !
First thx
I have an official Orange FR Atrix, it was on 2.2.2 out the box.
After a soft brick, I've done an upgrade to 2.3.4 with the new sbf and fastboot.
But now I would like to downgrade to 2.2.2 for some reasons (laptop in qwerty insted of azerty, video aspect ratio not good, some bugs, etc...), I have a CWM nandroid backup from my stock 2.2.2 rooted, but when I try to restore it with CWM it doesn't works (its stop at the boot flashing...)
Is there a way to downgrade with CWM with my nandroid backup ?
Is there a French Orange SBF I can use ?
Many thx
You don't flash a backup you restore a backup

Downgrading is very dangerous. I advise against it. But if you really want, the safest way is to use SamCripps fruitcake. Not sure if he has one for your version though.
Thx for your help, but I found the solution with this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125944&highlight=firmware
I've downloaded the orange france firmware (same as my original one), and flashed it with RSD Lite.
It works perfectly !!
Many thx to xda devs !!! ^^
Now with the stock rom I have two issues :
With 3g connection I can't download app on market or download something with stock explorer, the downloads stays on pause... internet and other downloads work fine. And everything works fine on wifi...
The second issue is I have no webtop/laptop mode anymore, only the media center.
Can you help me ? :'(
Thx.
I'm so stupid, the first issue wasn't an issue, it's a motorola setting I activated... sorry
but there is still the issue with the laptop/dock mode, I don't know how to fix it...

Hi Stremon,
Would you please show me how to deal with downgrade to 2.2.2 from 2.3.4?
I am having problem with battery; Bat sinks too fast if compare with the 2.2.2.
Thanks,
You might download your stock rom HERE (take only the "full" file), and flash it with RSD lite 5 (google it).
But be carefull, sometime it can be dangerous...
found a few semi-related threads in other forums but i want x10 users advice.
im in canada on rogers network and i updated my phone to one of wolfbreaks first gingerbreads. works well but i want the rogers specific firmware and they have apparently released it.
SO .. i have flashed 2.1.71 and the new kernel which i think will screw me up if i try to just plug in pc companion or seus, so, i want to restore my backup from 2.1 (i kept a stock optimized one just in case i ever f**d my phone up) ... will restoring this backup put my baseband and kernel back? or do i have to flash them seperatly?
what should i do?

Firstly using the new baseband and kernel would not screw you over when you are using SEUS to downgrade.
And I would recommend you to just stay on Wolf's rom, stock(untweaked) roms would give you performance that is nowhere near customised roms.
1.What is the difference between custom rom (Andro-IDv3.2) and Official Gingerbread?
2.Give me a tutorial please how to go back to Gingerbread Official !!! If i flash back to Official gingerbread reocovery menu will dissapear ???
3.What do u recommand me AndroIDv3.2(Custom rom) or Gingerbread ???
bumppppppp !!!
Its up to you!!!

Andro-id is customized version of gingerbread 2.3.4 and is better than gingerbread. And it also comes pre-rooted and is more flexible than official gingerberead.
Just flash a froyo rom for your region/area phone from http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-s5570.htm and flash it using odin one package option. If you have installed any custom recovery like CWM recovery, doing so will replace the custom recovery with stock recovery.
I think Andro-id 3.2 is better than gingerbread. but, cm7 is even more better than andro-id. THe diffrence however is cm7 looks and is completeley diffrent from gingerbread but andro-id looks similar and has similar functions to gingerbread... CM7 is very much customizable comes prerooted and can be overclocked.

Cwm for gts5570 currently doesn't support rfs so you can't backup froyo via cwm at the moment . But yiy can find froyo firmware for your region samfirmware.com download from there and flash using Odin. Where are you from? If you wanting will give the link to download froyo for your Tom. Also include the info you get when you dial *#1234#* in your dialer ( ie PDA version and baseband)

I came from italy
info version:
pda: S5570XIKF1
phone: S5570XXKB2
my question was if I can backup rom stock, because I would try to flash a custom rom (andro-id)... but if something goes wrong, or that rom doesn't like me, how can I go back to the original one?
Try searching for your rom on samfirmware.com . If you are able to find one you can flash it from odin to go back tp stock rom after upgrading to custom rom....
http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-s5570.htm
If you don't find try to google for your roms backup ...

Thanks bro U have a thank you from me
I wait for cyanogen final realease because he is still buggy
and one more question .... When i was on cyanogen mod7 for samsung galaxy mini i saw it uses only 50-60mb ram IS THAT REALLY ??!!!!
The ram consumed depend on how many apps and services you install.. May be a clean and fresh boot uses about 60 mb but when you go on installing apps the size increases.
