Smart move from Toshiba! Hope the next one get better support than this one!
I won't buy from Toshiba again because they don't intend to support their products, their rather keep launching new ones. If we were waitting for them we don't even had flash!
We should all be refunded
Hello i bought a Flytouch 5, I'm wondering what people know about this tablet.

Hi, I have the same one since a week ago. Unfortunatelly I updated it with another Android OS and now I don't have WIFI. May I ask you if you are still on the original firmware to send me the file wpa_supplicant.config? Or if you have the original ROM it will the best way if you can send me the link to download it. Thanks.

Thank you for your answer! Is your device rooted? Because only if it's rooted you can go to the folder where the file is. Or maybe you have the ROM? That will be the best way if you have the ROM to send it to me. Or to ask your reseller to send it to you? By the way where did you buy it from? That might help me to obtain the original firmware.
Thanks

How is the folder named? Let me look in to that first, i don't think the site allows direct company names that sell this product.
I'm surprised about the low info here on this tablet.
Maybe new info i found will help, it's also known as superpad.
And I'm sure it's no fake. Google it. I will not advertise here.
Still need some good info and answers.

I bought one of these chunks of crap, it ran for 24 hrs now it won't boot it had newer yospad firmware but I can't remember the exact build cause it won't boot now. What I need to know is how to do a hardware reset, not the little reset button it just restarts it or another yospad rom.
Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Who the hell gives names to this devices .. ? Flytouch 5 ? zomg!
this is the ONLY company that has the Infotmic SoC available for implementing into tablets:
http://www.shuoying.com/global/index.asp
http://www.shuoying.com/global/Product.asp?/3.html (tablet page)
I Know that, cause I personally visited the head of Infotmic SoC design (Shenzhen) and ShuoYing CEO, also in Shenzhen (Infotmic HQ is from Shanghai)
If there is any other tablet with "Flytouch" design, then they are tempered from the original tablet made by Shuoying, or they are so wild that it is really a mystery of it's origin.
My guess is that those are regular FT2 (since all have the same CPU) tweaked by some wild chinese people, Kernel and OS, and RAM/ROM
not to all - dont buy tablets from companies that dont show up in 1-2 hours search. You'll end up with tablet that someone assembled by hand and a screwdriver, and most probably extremely bad OS.
flashing rom on yospad
Use only Z4 to root the yospad. Can someone leave link for fw flash for yospad

I think your completely right there.
I use it for a remote control know.
Thanks for the input btw.
Digital Zoro - im sorry for your failed tablet device.
On the other hand - I find the FT2 design to be the best tablet design ever. it obviously lacks the fine finish, and better materials, but - 10 inch wide tablet, with every god damn port there is - pure win.
I saw the "actual" FT3 in Infotmic Shenzhen, and it looks awesome - capacitive screen, ARM Cortex A8 based infotmic SoC (about time dudes, you are sooo late) .. dont know why isnt out yet, cause all those named "FT3" dont have same specs as the one I saw.

My Flytouch 5
The design is not really bad and i like that it has the rj-45 port.
The screen I find bad. No multitouch and slow reaction when touched.
Its thick and heavy to hold.
Flytouch 5 should have GPS build in, but it doesn't.
The Flytouch 2 3 4 5 are all the same design. On one moment it lost the second mini sd slot.
Is this only with the fake ones?
No, they are all faulty. the forementioned Shuoying company makes crapy tablets
I took for bussines 30 units the first time around, and I still have 6 broken units. others had flaws, mostly of how they are assembled - everything is sticking out, and such. USB/SD slots die more often than you could imagine.
buttons are the biggest problem - they are not glued in & soldered - they are JUST soldered. so the only thing that holds them into place is Tin (Sn) and we all know how that is firm and solid
oh, there is also a screen problem - there are 3 types of ZIF wire-to-board connector types for the screen, so if you ever need a screen replacement - dont even think about it.
the best assembled chinese tablet is from a company Utopia, in my expirience. you can find them by the name "imx515" A8 or A10 tablet. it turns out that solutions for assemble is better than most of the branded companies.
Hi,
I've almost made decision to buy 101 gen8 for my girlfriend as a first (budget) tablet, but just wanted to ask for your opinion. Especially for specific issues/limitations that gen8 might have as opposed to G9.
I had 101 G9 for a couple of days for testing and we liked it. But it's a more expensive option and not really offering that much more I think. To sum up differences:
1. On G8 real-use speed (processor) should be fine, not much worse than G9 I hope
2. screen not much worse according to reviews ? (apart from the angles which are told to be much worse)
3. one less usb port in G8, not a big issue (the G8 port should work with 3G stick too I presume)
4. no GPS in G9, not that needed here too
5. android version and ram available- and this might be an issue as only ICS might be available and not officially I guess -what are the clear advantages of honeycomb over froyo? I still don't know..
6. flash support- on G9 it generally worked in websites, on gen8 I'll have to mess with it I guess and the result will still be worse ? Is it a different flash version or just less working due to system ?
7. firmware/rom issues - I read in some posts there were some unresolved issues couple of months ago in G8. What is the current state of buggy-ness there considering newest updates? :/
8. anything else? battery performance looks to be about the same..
Thanks
G9 is much better, at least for me...
I had a 101 Gen8 for about 1 Year, and now I have a Gen9 80, and for me it is much better :
- G9 CPU has 2 Cores, G8 only 1
- Screen is much better
- My USB Host Port on G8 was broken after 1 Month, this happens a lot (read Forum), 3G on G8 works if you install UrukDroid, not in Stock Rom (Drivers missing)
- All G9 has GPS
- Android 3.2.1 is better for tablet, and in real Live it's true
- On my G8 101, I never had Deep Sleep, that means my Battery drains fast in Standby. That was the biggest Issue for me and the reason why I changed.
On G9 I have Deep Sleep
Have Fun...

yep, I saw these reports about usb. does it mean the hardware just stopped working ? what about your experiences of the warranty service of Archos ?
regarding the deep sleep I saw that in 2.4... (I think) firmware update it was finally working, or not ?
with new gen8 firmware
the Archos 3g dongle working on 101 gen8
yes the USB Host stops working, nothing happens on plug in USB Device.
My Last G8 Firmware was 2.4.80, and with this no Deep Sleep.
Remark : with the Cyanogen Mod from AOS, deep sleep is working, but in the Beta there are other Issues.
For a Month ago I decided to contact Archos Support about my two Issues (USB and Deep Sleep), I wrote the an Email and no arnswer until today
My Lucky was that I bought it by Amazon, I send the Device to Amazon and after 3 Days I became the Full Money Back. Since this, I am a big Fan from Amazon
With this Money I bought my new Gen 9 80...
Ciao

usb died on my 101 as well. I mainly use it for surfing, so haven't sent in for warranty support yet. To get an RMA for your device it is best to call, as they are very slow responding to mail.
Screen on Gen 9 is way better than Gen 8 101. Also, unless rooted, there is a limit on the apps partition in Gen 8, so if you want to install a lot of apps and don't want to root, you may run up against this. I am not a heavy apps user, but I did run up against this limitation. No apps limitation, in gen 9.
Also, more RAM on Gen 9. Browser on Gen 8 frequently shuts down if you have too many pages open.
The gen 8 is still a good device for the money, but does have some limitations. Btw, I have the Gen 9 80, not the 101
OK can you just clarify what's the situation with flash support on gen8 ? is it working fine on websites after installing/upgrading to what is needed ?

Flash 10.3 works best on my gen8. However it is very stuttery when trying to play video from amazon. Flash 11 is worse. I am using flash 11 on my gen 9 and movies play much smoother.
You tube app on gen8 works fine.
You might look at http://forum.archosfans.com/index.php.
Now I'm confused. there's a problem with availibility locally with 101 gen8 and I found out about arnova 10 g2 (or 10b g2 which seems only different externally and weighs more) - these have 1ghz ARM like 101 but 512mb are told to be generally fast with 2.3stock and can play full hd
also may have better screen (IPS?). downsides are lack of bt and hdmi, but these are not that needed in my case
Not sure about battery life, not much detailed reviews on 10 G2 found
(Concerning emails to archos) Just send the mail twice, or 3 times and they will answer quickly, at least that's my experience with contacting them...

Did you see it in real ? I'd suggest to try to see all models running before taking a decision. G2 is IPS, but I've seen one and it appeared poor quality to me, certainly not equivalent to Samsung/Motorola or even Acer
I didn't have the 101 gen8 at the same time to compare, but in my memory they feels about the same quality.
my personal feeling regarding screen quality is: Gen9 > 70 Gen 8 > 101 Gen8, Arnova G2.
Regarding processing power, don't take ARM and GHZ value as a criteria. All of them are ARM, and GPU / # of cores / SOC (I'd say in this order for Android) are more interesting criteria.
Memory is a very important criteria, 512 MB memory is good, the 256 of Gen8s are a bit low.

Hello
I plan to buy a low budget tablet and i am interested in archos 80 turbo, after i learned that nexus 7 doesnt have mhl .
So i am interested for video playback with hdmi out and from what i read g9 is doing pretty fine with that.
My questions are :
1)Is archos 80 turbo screen ok for reading?
2)I would buy the 16gb version but i dont know whats the difference with the 8 gb , which one is better?(different processors etc)
Any other comments if this device worth's buying are welcome. Also if you want to point out any other tablets about the same price that you think are better.
edit: NOW ON SALE - see last post

This was announced about a month ago (Feb 2015) and it looks like it should be a really decent tablet with keyboard dock; apparently it'll have an Atom CPU, only the Windows version gets a core-M CPU ;-(
I've not seen any official date when it'll be available, other than "Spring", and an unofficial price of US$350 with keyboard. The "reviews" say it will be available with 1280x800 display and 1080p as an option, though I suspect it'll only be the windows version which will have a 1080p option. Maybe too there will be a version with 4G/LTE.
In some ways it sounds very much like the Asus Transformer TF303CL, which is sadly not available in the UK, it costs about US$380
If anyone has any concrete information to share, please post it, as I am ready to throw some money at a nice tablet + dock system
thanks!
Still no concrete news as to the launch date.
I am also worried that the Venue 10 pro with Windows will be a much better spec and the Android version slightly crippled ;-(

It'd be nice to get the windows version and put android on it!
I can see myself smacking my head against the table already from saying that.... lol, not.
I'm old school. if it doesn't workout I bring that isht back bricked within return period.
"I dunno" LMFAO
The Venue 10 Windows version has been listed on Dell's site for pre-order for a little while: http://www.dell.com/uk/p/dell-venue-10-pro-5055-tablet/pd and they will start shipping on 2nd April
Good News,
it's now on sale
http://www.dell.com/us/p/dell-venue-10-5050-tablet/pd?ref=PD_OC
the good news is that it doesn't appear to have been crippled, other than offering 16 or 32GB storage, whereas Windows has 32 or 64
Intel® Atom™ Processor Z3735F (2M Cache, up to 1.83 GHz)
Android Lollipop
1Yr Collect and Return warranty
2GB DDR3L-RS
16GB or 32GB option
10.1 inch HD 1280x800 IPS Multitouch Display - the 32GB version has 1920x1200
Twin cameras, 5Mpix back, 1.2Mpix front
Full-size USB
Micro HDMI
Wifi - Broadcom AH691A-2x2 (802.11 a/b/g/n)
BT 4.0
GPS (with LTE)
Proximity (with LTE)
Accelerometer
Gyroscope
e-Compass
Security Cable lock – Noble Lock
I think that the "LTE" in the GPS and proximity specs seem to be an error, as the spec specifically says no mobile broadband.
The spec doesn't say what the battery is, chances are same as the Windows tablet, a 2-cell 32WHr Battery
sadly, still no sign of it being on sale
if you change the URL for Dell.com USA to the UK
