If anybody is curious about this since I dropped mine this morning and cracked the LCD screen (my case is still in the mail, bought it from ebay):
HTC will repair it for roughly $230 depending on the extent of the damage.
You talk to them (great customer service! very friendly) they send you a box (2-3 days), you send it back (2-3 days) they get a final quote and fix it and send it back (2-3 days). I imagine the whole process will be between 1 and 2 weeks. I will update with exactly how long it took and exact costs when this is all over.
MissionRepair.com cannot fix LCD screen for the Flyer but they hope to at some point in the future. They can fix the digitizer screen though. Mine works perfectly so that doesn't help me much. I could not find any place that sells the LCD screen at all. Several sold the digitizer screen.
Luckily, the bottom half of the screen worked so I was able to back up all of my app data with Astro File Manager. So now I can just plug it in and grab everything and put it on my computer. Then put it back on when I get my repaired one back.

I made another post explaining that my phone will turn off by itself randomly and then today I had something very unusual happen. it was charging in my car, then suddenly stopped charging even(was at 62%). I unplugged it & plugged it back in then suddenly the screen glitched out and went black(but the power light was still on). The phone was unresponsive so I unplugged it and pulled the battery. I waited a bit & put the battery back and then it turned on normally. Once it was up though, the bottom left corner of the screen was super bright and looked like it had fluid behind the screen. I freaked out and pulled the battery again. I then took the phone apart and found it was completely dry and no water damage indicators. I sprayed it all down with canned air and put it back together but it still has that issue in the bottom corner(although the screen is still operating fine).
whatever that problem is, it takes up more then enough of the screen to bother anyone + is still doing the random power offs. I do not have insurance + with the S-OFF and the void sticker now removed from the screw I doubt Verizon will do anything. I'm sure it will be over $100 to fix this(just not sure how much more), so would it be worth it to fix this or just buy another phone off of craigslist?
Call Verizon and tell them about your problem. have them send you a replacement as it is still under warranty. When you get the new one CAREFULLY remove the void sticker (heat it up, hair dryer, lighter, whatever you have lying around that can do it) from the replacement, and put it on the one you are sending back.

Unfortunately, since I traded my old phone for this Thunderbolt they(Verizon) told me it is no longer under a warrenty. Instead, they offered to send me a new Thunderbolt in the mail for $250.... I then asked about the Bionic and was told they'd give me a new Bionic for $300. I'm debating what to do now.
p.s. a local cell phone shop said they could fix my phone for $140 but couldn't guarantee if the buttons at the bottom of my phone would light up again or not.
Do you mean you already have a replacement Tbolt? If so I think you only get a 90 day warranty on those.

well, i got my original TB when i signed up with Verizon. i took it back within the 30 day period and exchanged it for an Incredible 2... some time later i traded the Incredible 2 with someone for this TB.
so more or less, yes... replacement of sorts. i explained this to the verizon rep(who apparently already knew).
I am having some major problems with my touchscreen/digitizer.
About three months ago I dropped the phone and it cracked the screen in a few places. It was still completely usable.
In the last month, there have been some areas of the screen that have become completely unresponsive. I could usually get around this by rotating the phone, touching a different area, and then rotating it back. However the problem seems to be getting worse where larger and larger areas are unresponsive. There is now a rectangular band about one centimeter high that goes the complete width of the screen that doesn't respond to any touch, ever.
In addition to the completely dead zones on my screen, the touchscreen sometimes becomes completely unresponsive which can be fixed by locking and unlocking the screen.
I don't have a lot of money for a new phone, so I was able to live with these problems, but they're getting worse. Also, if my wife or anyone needs to borrow my phone they often find it completely unusable. In the middle of me explaining the problems and workarounds, they usually just give up.
I'm wondering if I replace the digitizer, will this problem go away? Or is there something else wrong with the phone that might not be serviceable by me? In addition to the digitizer problem, my headphone jack stopped working. If I plug anything in, nothing happens and sound continues to come out of the phone speaker. That's leading me to believe the phone has some deeper problems that I might not be able to fix, but if I can fix the screen I can live with the headphone jack problem.
My digitizer wasn't cracked, but I have the same problem. I send my phone to service and I'm waiting for response.
"Service" is not an option for me. The warranty is gone. I do not have insurance. I purchased the phone refurbished for $50. The only reason I did not replace the digitizer the moment it cracked is because the digitizer is the same price as what I paid for the phone in the first place.
Mine under warranty so I send it to motorola service centre and they replace the digitizer for me. I get it back in 2 days after sending it in.
But they flash my ROM and I'm not sure whether my phone still unlockable or not.
Btw, I have read a lot of atrix user with digitizer issue. It send common for our phone. You can easily spot few threads showing you how to replace the digitizer.

Soooo, I hate to bring back a dead thread, but I figured it was better than starting one of my own.
My Atrix recently had a sudden impact of its own. Cosmetically, it is still perfect. The touchscreen no longer responds though.
Phone still works. It receives calls, text, syncs with email, changes volume, etc. The touchscreen just wont respond to any of my fingers lol.
My question to Ovitz (or anyone else) is, did you get your phone back fixed and what was the solution?
I am leaning towards the digitizer, but I just want to verify before I put money into it. There are no rattles in the phone. No crack at all. I, generally, take great care of my phones and this one looks basically like it did out of the box.
Thanks in advance!!!

You dislodged the connection for the didgitizer or broke. I suggest you replace it. There have been plenty of Q and A threads on this. Get one from eBay oem, YouTube search a how to, and take it slow.

Im trying to figure out why my EVO 3D's screen is not turning on. There is a vibration to signal boot. Phone is discharging battery yet steady red light is on. Operating System boots fine, and i was able to plug it into an HDTV to see what was going on, on the screen (LCD is BLACK/not receiving signal or power)
Self-repair history:
Shattered digitizer from throwing the phone on concrete ---> ordered digitizer glass and repaired successfully but did not adhere it to the bezel.
The flex on the digitizer wore out. I was on MikVirgin 1.01 (ICS) so i used a bluetooth mouse and keyboard to use the phone (not too fun in the long run)
The LCD went out one day after an interview.... i took the battery out about 5 minutes later and it booted with the LCD working.
-Bezel was warped
-No Touch Glass (digitizer)
-LCD died completely after i opened the phone up again to see if there was a part missing inside i had seen in a teardown of an Evo 3D on youtube.
:'[
Ordered the entire touch/bezel/middlehousing/LCD (front) assembly.
Got here today....
LCD STILL OUT... and whats more is that the moment i boot i get a confirmation vibration then a steadt red light... and its NOT charging.
O.S. is completely functional... i believe it may be a hardware issue, display related of coarse.
My question is, what are my options at this point for repair seeing as the LCD had givin signs of being finnicky before completely dying outright.
I have a $70 assembly sitting here lookin reaal nice and im hoping im not completely screwed. :[
Heres a final update. It WAS the motherboard, although the specific part of which was damaged i could not pinpoint. A used evo 3D off of craigslist i managed to get the seller to agree on 60$ for with an MEID i verified clean i extracted, and used my mint assembly. Its possible to ALWAYS fix evo 3d for less than deductible if you can consistantly find sweet deals like that. My phone is now officially three diffrent PG86100's together into one. It was definitly worth any money lost in the experiance to learn and confirm my ability and jugement on the repair. If you can build a custom PC or repair one (better yet), I would recommend attempting a smartphone repair at least once.

Hello everyone!
My sister accidentally detached the screen of my phone because she was taking it from me. After that, we take it to the repair center (a store only in a mall) and they said that the screen is unavailable for now. The repairman suggested to take out the battery from the phone until the screen is available to order. One day I tried to turn on the phone with its battery inserted to see if it still works without the screen, I thought of the phone was still working fine because it still vibrates when you powered it on and I immediately removed the battery after doing the testing. It almost took 2-3 weeks until the phone was repaired (the screen replacement has no warranty). Then we got home and played with my phone. Suddenly, the touch screen doesn't work, I have waited for a few second then it works again. It keeps happening like that and there are times that the screen completely doesn't respond to my touches until I reboot my phone. The apps that I were using that time are responding well only the touchscreen does not responds well.
I am using a custom ROM while my phone is being repaired.
So here's my question:
Will touchscreen problem exist or occur if you didn't turn it on or use it (powered off) for a few weeks?
The phone that I'm using is Xperia Mini Pro SK17I. I have also tried other custom ROMS like CM10 and CM10.1 but it just makes my touchscreen worse.

Hey there.
What a coincidence, I just went through this kind of problem. Sorry to tell you this, but the screen assembly you bought is defective and there's little you can do about it, save for flashing back to stock and hoping for the best.
I ruined my xmp's screen and had to get a replacement part. I was in a rush so I bought a new display from the first store I came across with. Result: the touch digitizer was deffective, pretty much useless on CM10.1. It worked for a few minutes, but then it stopped responding until the next reboot. Touch response was sloppy, and two-finger gestures were all messed up.
Flashing back to stock ICS helped a bit, but it was far from ideal. I had to cope with it until it finally drove me crazy and I threw it to the ground. The glass shattered, many pieces flew off from the phone. Saved enough money for another screen and I'm just fine with it. No problems even after doing exactly what you described.
Word of advice: get a new screen assembly, and flash back to stock while you're at it.
Would you tell us how much the good assembly costs? Just for reference.

I usually buy these from a local store for about $40. Check the display and touch digitizer quality before buying when possible. If you plan on buying one online, don't go for the cheapest alternative you can find, you could end up regretting it.
I'd recommend buying from "formymobile.co.uk"
Some people might not know this, but the display and touch glass on the xmp cannot be separated. This is good and bad at the same time.

I am now dissappointed with myself because I didn't take my phone for repair to the store where I bought my phone. I have already brought my phone there before because of screen replacement too and they replace it with a good and functional one then that store move its location that was far away from us and that takes us to bring the phone in the nearest mall here in our place.
We found a store inside the mall, they fix it and TA-DAAAAA, a phone with a defective screen. And yes, the gestures are not working properly. I really love this phone but I can't take it anymore for another repair.
I am planning to buy a new phone but not a Sony Ericsson phone. I will buy a local branded phone [Cherry Mobile (Android phone) - search it on Google to see it] here in our country (Philippines). It is much cheaper but has a good quality. I am just a student so it will took me a long time to buy a new phone.
Unless my parents decides the buy me a phone because they also use my phone for playing.

Hello everyone! Downgrading my phone to Stock Gingerbread does help but it still stops responding (not always) unlike in JB that stops every minute.

So, the other day my phone fell about four 3.5 feet down on its back. I pick it up and find a small crack on the screen, oops, but I can live with that... I hit the home button and my screen flickers... I had my girlfriend call me and the phone reacted normal with the exception of the screen being broken, I was even able to swipe and answer the call and talk to her. I figure out that my digitizer was broken. I have insurance on my phone however my phone is rooted on MDK. "Why not upgrade?" you may ask, well I have been contract free since May of 13 and bought this phone outright to keep my unlimited data. So, I purchased a digitizer replacement on Amazon and during the process I broke one of the antenna (the one on the left side when looking at the exposed back) I didn't think much of it as I can order that part as well. Once I have the the new digitizer in place I go ahead and put the phone back together. Well, when I power on my phone the screen still doesn't turn on. AHHHH, I'm assuming my only option is to install the original broken screen and attempt to go through Verizon to replace my phone. I really don't know what else I can do as I spent $200 to buy the new screen/digitizer and that didn't work. Please let me know if I have other options.
