Hi what video formats does the stock rom recognise and play, I'm only asking as I want to install the starburst rom, does that rom still have the stock video format compatability.

I am trying to clear out EVERYTHING that is not necessary for the functioning of this device. I do not need web browsing, music player, video playback, calendar, etc. I have tried to customize stock ROM 4349 with no such luck, I can not manage to get the ROM to boot after install even after doing a cache / data wipe. Does anyone got any suggestions or know of a "empty" stock ROM I could use?
You could delete all the apk files your not interested in with any of the custom roms.
Well the guy I am doing it for wants it as close to stock as possible. He wants them to rin just a single custom made application with very little other functionality. Including underclocked processor, and minimal background apps. I was trying to build a custom ROM but I am assuming I am having an issue with the updater-script file.
last week i've swapped my gf's sdcard to format her data and put mine back in my phone
After that, i couldn't find media in the stock app like gallery or music (gallery, google play and AOSP music app)
but i can access that media via external app like QuickPic or PowerAmp
have tried these methods but that's NOT help solving my issue
- flash Stock ICS Rom via ODIN and flash the ROM over it. (stock music player can see my music too, but I didn't notice if the stock gallery could see my photos)
- format /system before install the ROM
- tried the mediaReScan app from the Play Store
- tried install CM10/AOKP ROM but the problem is still there
- any methods i could get from google
anyone facing issue like me? and if you have solved it, How??
for others who doesn't face this issue, do you have any advice for me? thanks
P.S. i'm on SlimBean 3.1 with Siyah Kernel
still waiting for the solution
Hard to find an answer, because you tried everything I would have done as well.
Did you try to fix permissions in recovery?
Wipe cache and dalvik?
Hi friends
I have bought a new Tablet, karbonn ST 8 with Android jelly bean as OS. As I am opening YouTube. com in my browser, the video component is not playing, I can only hear the sound. I have used both the Stock Android browser and preinstalled Google Chrome.
Under setting > application, I can see Flash player 11.1 installed, but still, the problem exists.
Please help me to resolve this issue.
Jellybean 4.1 does not support Flash, but is there a workaround?
Well, it seems that the trouble is with the OS itself, Adobe has stopped providing Flash compatibility with Android JB. So, is there any workaround? I have searched and tried different methods including one of the Flash packages available here. But as soon as I try to install the flash package, I receive a failure notice, informing that there is already another package installed of the same signature. But still, I can not play any YouTube video in my browser.
Is there any work around of this problem?
Thank you
Hello everybody,
I am new to this site. I just need your help. I rooted my galaxy s2 and installed deodexed rom with multi window feature. But the thing is that I accidently deleted default video player and now I am not able to play videos on tv via all share. I dont want to install that ROM again. So I just want its default video player and the instruction on how can I install that. pls reply me asap
You should be able to re-install the ROM without wiping data/cache and ensure that the video player is checked (if using Aroma installer).
Alternatively, you may be able to find an .apk and install from your SD.
There are many other third party video players in the play store as well - some, arguably better!

There's always an .apk ! Check this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2204423 .
If not, reinstall the ROM but no need to wipe if re-installing if that's what was putting you off doing it.

Dear senior members pls help me now I think my phone is bricked. My issue is that I installed deodexed ROM. Than I accidently deleted stock video player. When I was not able to install that I thought of reinstalling ROM. But now I am not able to reinstall that ROM because am not able to go to recovery mode. Its showing an exclamotory mark and written that binary count:5. Because I installed kernel for 5 times. Even I think I forgot to enable USB debugging. Now my phone stuck on exclamatory mark. Now what should I do. I dont want to buy zig because I cannot wait for 3-4 days. Pls help me. :crying:
Pls asap.
reinstall again or go to service counter
Yuhuu
I did it. I recovered my deodexed rom now working perfect :good:
After installing flash player (tried 11.1.115.81 , 11.1.115.69 & 11.1.115.63) my browser crashes after a few seconds of watching videos. I've tried using chrome and firefox but the problem with chrome is that it wont show some videos and firefox bugs out in full screen.
So does anyone know working version of flash on stock 4.3 or a workaround that doesnt involve flashing custom roms?
