Having a problem making calls. When I dial via Google Voice, or by clicking a number in my browser, a +1 gets added to the number, and as a consequence I get an error stating the network is busy. If I delete the +1 before dialing I have no problem connecting.
I've played with various options that I found, to no avail.
I'm running Liquid Gingersense 1.6 (happened on 1.5, too), and I honestly can't remember if it happened on my stock 2.2.1
any help?
Try disabling assisted dialing?
Settings---call---assisted dialing. Unchecked the box. Not sure if you have to reboot or not.

Did that..no luck..

Seems its an issue with the Google voice app, since it never does that via my sense dialer. Maybe copy the number, then paste it into a text message or another app that parses, and dial from there?

Do you have Facebook syncd up? All contacts imported from Facebook will have +1 and therefore not let you call or text that #

Google Voice tends to do that because it treats all calls as international calls. If you log into your google account online you can disable this by making a call online. Your phone will sync your preferences from there.

So just place a call from within GV on my computer? I don't need to change any settings? Can I enter a # to dial or do I need to select one from my contacts?
That's what it looked like when I was on there

That's weird but it worked. Actually, it stills adds 1 but not the +, and that's corrected the issue.

I just bought my HTC Amaze. I had 3 saved voicemails from my old phone. Forest time I turned on this phone I got the voicemail notification and it never went away. I've tried deleting my saved voicemails, and now I have no voicemails in my inbox, yet the voicemail notification is still there.
Is there anything I can do to remove this notification? It's becoming more annoying as time passes.

EDIT: well I left myself a voicemail and then read and deleted it and my problem resolved itself. Guess I should have thought of that before I posted.
Go to settings , call, clear voicemail notification

That's exactly what I had to do.
Got the same problem on my Xperia Ray. There is no clear voicemail notification in call settings (it seems to vary from phone to phone) and leaving a new message and listening to it didn't solve the problem for me. Any other ideas?
Regards,
Gunnar

Not familiar with that device but I would try downloading visual voice mail and syncing then clearing voicemails through the app.

I am trying to set up google voice on my new note. But it always shows the following message:
We have a problem. Your phone number could not be verified. Please try again.
Anyone had the issue before?
Thanks
Is your main gmail on your phone the same as your google voice email?
Uninstall/reinstall gv and see if that works.

Thats weird, can you use the same email address to log into gv on a home computer? Just to make sure your gv account looks ok. Then I would try on your note's browser with the gmail address you use. If all those work I dont see a reason the gv app wont.

Works like a charm, just added a new number. Thanks everybody for helping
I am having issues installing voice on my note but its different than yours; when I install it gets to the point where it is supposed to change your forwarding number and it gives me an error message and tells me it can not change the forwarding number.
Mine setup fine and under my phone number in settings>about phone>status it says Unknown.

I am also having the same problem. The only work-around that I know of is to select 'ask every time' under the Google voice option.
I believe the roms that aren't based off of Samsung's has the Voice working properly.
It's working fine for me, but there is a big glitch. If you go to Google Voice app settings and choose to make all calls using google voice it works. When making calls from the touchwiz phone it says it's making the call using google voice. The big issue is that everytime I make a call (to the same number) it shows in the call log as if I've called a completely different random number (presumably the google server the call is actually sent from).
Hello, it seems that I've run into an issue that has got me stumped. I'm running flapjaxxs IMM76D build 5 rom and cannot get Google voice to become my voicemail provider. Every darn time I try I get an error about a forwarding issue. Here's a screen shot
I've tried reinstalling clearing caches to no avail. I Even cleared the data for call settings apk . Would anyone like go share insights on what it could be? I have never had this issue, I like this rom for its stock look so I dont want to try and switch.

It should still work. When you get to the part where it gives you the option to "Configure," hit skip. It will finish logging you in. It will still become your primary voicemail provider, it will just be done using a forwarding number. Every time a call goes to voicemail, it does a quick call forward to a number assigned to your account my Google. The voicemail is recorded here. This would also be the number you would use if you use Google Voice to make phone calls.
Your voicemails will still appear in the Google Voice App & Widget. Nothing will be different from your perspective. It will all be behind the scenes stuff that makes it happen. But, the lack on configuring with your device won't effect you ability to use Google Voice as your primary mailbox for voicemail.
It doesn't work. It still gets directed to my att voicemail and voicemails are still being recorded on my att voicemail.

I actually ran into this exact issue yesterday, and its an easy fix.
Just log into Google Voice on your PC, and under settings, unassociate your phone with Google Voice, then Re-Associate it.
Google will give you the string of characters to enter in and it will work. I can confirm using the Note's interface to do it will not stick.
Got it! Thanks .

Google voice isn't give me voicemail notifications and app settings are fine. In voicemail settings, it says iconditional forwarding unsuccessful. I tried that manual way where it starts with **004 but that didn't make a difference. Any ideas? Thanks.
I still don't think this has been resolved, or really even addressed, yet.

It's funny how GV App has remain buggy and featureless. I wonder why the hell Google doesn't fix it and gives it a major overhaul like all their other apps. Like for instance I've always wondered why don't they include in-app purchasing capabilities for when you want to top off your account for international calling.... that's just messed up.
Google should really pay attention to that app, many people use this service and deserve something better.
GV works fine for me. You need to be post-paid. Pre-paid doesn't have call forwarding.
I have post paid
So do I, so that's certainly not the issue.

I got it to work by manually doing call forwarding to my GV number, only to see it switch back a couple days later. I believe it had to do with using T-mobile's WiFi calling, but I can't say for certain.
