IMPORTANT NOTES
1. Before doing any operations be sure you have battery level more than 50%!
2. You must had RSPL/HSPL install to your device , download RSPL/HSPL see this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1195647
3. Supported OS: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7.
Warranty Issues
Be warned, using RSPL may void your warranty.
If you need to send your device to a Repair Centre, make sure that it looks like stock! Install stock official ROM before go to Repair Centre.

I just have bought a new HD 2. In its version info it shows that its OS version is 5.2.21869, ROM version 1.48.720.2(71294)WWE. Radio version 2.05.51.05_2. Is there any OS or ROM update available is. Just want to go for any useful update.
I already have CHT 1.8.5 & BsB on my device.
also want to know is there any update to reduce battery uses & any software for voice command.
I know i am asking a lot, but promise will try to share knowledge i get from you people.

Yes, there is newer official ROM, you can find it directly on HTC site.
Or you can try any custom ROM - there are lots of them, you just need to try (or do some reading first which one suits you best (they differ from very clean to "fully loaded" with tons of software, also some have "stock" look, some are fully customized).
Don't forget in case you choose to try custom ROM - first you need to update your SPL to some version of HSPL (exact version is not important, you may flash latest 2.08.HSPL directly), then you need to flash Radio (look which versions are recommended by the chief of the ROM you choose to update) and only then flash ROM itself.

Ok you have Middle East Rom as I do,its a very good ROM keep it.you dont need to change the Radio.
Now how to get Android to work:
1-Go here and download HSPL3,unzip and put it in a folder:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433.
2-connect your HD2 to the computer with Active Sync,open the folder containing HSPL3,click on the HSPL3 Icon and install,RREAD averything it instructs and do what it says.

4-connect your HD2 to the computer as a USB Disk and unzip it on your SD Card from your PC.
hi there! I have questions:
1. Does XDA have permission from Google to provide roms for people to legally download and do I need to ask Google permission myself to legally download their custom roms or original stock rom?
2. Do I have to be a developer to legally flash a rom(stock or custom) from XDA and/or Google?
3. Does XDA have legal permission from Google to distribute a custom rom with the Google keyboard provided? or is it like Google Play that needs to be separately installed?
4. is it legal to have a copy of the original stock rom from someone else if it was provided on the web by a third party without permission or do they legally need permission to provide?
5. is it true 1 licensed software for that particular smartphone with Android OS and apps provided when you purchase a phone and no more than that(flashing another copy over that) or is it okay to legally flash/root over that if it is true(like in the case of Microsoft software where you have to pay for a full copy of Windows and reactivate the Operating System w/ EULA)? I read a website that says some of the Android OS inside isn't fully open source and if that is true, that makes the Android OS not fully open source and not fully free if this is true, correct?
6. if this makes sense: is it morally wrong to flash and/or root over a phone that hasn't been flashed or rooted if the companies don't want this? and do you know why a company would not want this done besides warranty?

I get www getdroidtips dot com often in search results when researching if a phone can be rooted or if a certain ROM works on it. Is it a legit site? They have tutorials that sometimes link to firmwares on a google drive (e.g. stock firmware), so I wonder if it is really legit.

My POV: Extracting a ROM from a phone you own is perfectly legal - at least in US, but downloading stock ROMs from the WEB unless offered on OEM's or Carrirer's site is a crime.

I believe even in the US it is legal, at least this is my understanding : "The American implementation is the*Digital Millennium Copyright Act*(DMCA), which includes a process for establishing exemptions for non-copyright-infringing purposes such as rooting". In the EU it is also legal (you are allowed to replace software). Many vendors ship unlocked bootloaders for this reason. Rooting is not the same as jailbreaking on IOS; jailbreaking exploits bugs and rooting just gives you root access via an unlocked/replaceable bootloader.
But my question was more if it is a reputable source or not.

I have been a part of GetDroidTips for more than two years now. We at GetDroidTips usually have all the solutions to any troubleshooting issues and updates on bugs, latest Android updates and more from legit sources. Irrespective if it legal or not to download any ROM, we make sure what information you get is legit. Downloading stuff is always at user's discretion depending upon if rooting or installing a software is banned or barred in one's country and it is truly subjective.
