I'm just puttig this out there for those people that have problems with streaming audio. I bought my Droid X2 about 3 weeks ago. I listen to music and news every day at work on my X2 using Pandora, Slacker Radio, and TuneIn Radio. With all 3 apps audio streaming would work fine for 15-30 min then stop. When I woke the phone up the streaming would resume or I would have to restart the app for it to resume. It's as if the phone would stop the app from streaming when it turns off. I use Widget Locker and Power Strip and even when i turn both of those off the streaming stops. The only workaround I have found so far is to use the Nolock app from the market to turn off the lock screen completely. So far i have had no problems streaming.
I hope this helps someone that might be having the same problems.
FYI i am running stock gingerbread unrooted. This was also happening on stock froyo rooted and unrooted.

Check Settings>>Battery & data manger>>Battery mode and look at what battery profile you are currently running.... the max batt saver turns data off after about 15 minutes....

Hi
Having issue with wifes ace stock Froyo. Trying various media players after 20 mins or so if streaming music over wifi the music stops turn screen on wifi connects and music continues.
Subsonic winamp etc all same if streaming. Whats going on?
That's because your wifi is set to switch off when screen goes off, go to wifi settings then advanced then turn off the sleep option for wifi

Hi everyone, was wondering if anyone has had any problems with audio being streamed through Ford Sync? After about a half hour or so of streaming or playing audio my phone freezes and reboots. I have tried 4 or 5 different roms and every single one of them has this problem. Thanks for your help!

I stream BT audio using Rdio service with my Sync (Ford MyTouch). I can't say that I've ever had that problem after using it for a while. I am using the xXx ROM.
Never had a problem.

No problems with my CM9 builds streaming to my 2010 Ford Focus, the audio quality is good and the steering wheel controls work.
Havent had a problem with streaming to Ford sync. Does it just do it when streaming to your Sync, or does it lock up doing anything else, ie playing thru headphones, or speaker.
Ford sync is buggy, could try rebooting your sync, you can do that yourself by pulling the fuse for it for a few mins.
It doesn't do it with headphones or a usb cable. It only does it when I am streaming audio through the Sync. It wouldn't freeze and reboot when I was on gingerbread, only on ICS.

2009 Ford Focus - AT&T Skyrocket ICS 4.0.4
I can't seem to pair my phone to my Focus since updating with the official AT&T released ICS 4.0.4 version. It worked fine before... I will try pulling the fuse soon and trying again.
Mine will pair, I have an F150 and Expedition. Both will pair, but no longer connect automatically. I can manually force them to connect, but not automatic. I have reset the car (pull positve cable from battery for 30 seconds) and then paired the phone again. Still nothing. My wife has a Galaxy S2 on 4.0.2 and it works just fine. Something goofy with the Note and 4.0.3 bluetooth drivers.
I can pair it just fine, the phone freezes up about a half hour into my audio playback. I can stop it from freezing if I stop the audio before it hits the 30 to 35 minute mark and hit play again.

So after testing my Bluetooth audio with cm9, the phone never froze or rebooted. Makes me wonder if the Bluetooth drivers for the stock roms are bad? Would anyone know how to get updated or better drivers? Thanks again!

I have this issue when I am streaming audiobooks, podcasts, or even a long youtube thing when streaming to my After market Sony stereo. It happens pretty much every 38 minutes like clockwork. After the 2nd freeze, I lose data connectivity until I do a full reboot. When it freezes, it seems like it doesn't do a full reboot for me, as I never see any booting animations. Just a frozen screen, a few seconds of black then back to the lock screen.
This *does not* happen when streaming Google Music. It seems like it's only when I'm playing the same audio piece for over a half hour. This is using Audible and BeyondPod. I can't recall which kernal I'm using, but I do remember it is the same one the last 2 roms where I've had this issue, so I have no idea if it even can be kernal related or not.
Yeah that is the problem that I am having as well. If I stop the audio before it hits the 38 minute mark then it won't reboot. cm9 so far hasn't made my phone freeze. I wonder if people are having the same problem on the att official update?

I have exactly the same problem on rooted stock Telus 4.0.4 rom. My bluetooth device is JVC car radio. Can someone fix the title of the thread to remove "Ford Sync" reference? It looks like the problem is more generic.
I never had an issue connecting to my 2011 Escape until ICS. If i manually did a connect, it was fine, but no automatic connect with ICS. After I did an unpair, delete the connect from phone and car, then performed a new pair, it was fine.

I got one of those fancy vibration-technology speakers (trupulse.net) for Christmas, but regardless of the ROM I've tried (Super Jelly, JellyBam, & others) I get a noticeable crackle when playing music through bluetooth on it. Seems to be connected some to what I do on my phone while music's playing (opening apps, rotating the screen, etc), but it also happens randomly too. I had my wife try it on her stock LTE with Jellybean and it works correctly. I'm also confident it's bit the speaker itself because my TouchPad and my bro-in-law's iPhone worked fine too.
Anybody got any ideas what the issue might be?
P.S. I noticed I have 2 bluetooth share apps, so I froze them individually in TiBu but do still had the issue.
I notice crackle when multitasking or when i press power button on my phone. It only lasts a second though. Running pacman rom.
Is it a constant crackle? Also, have you tried turning volume down on your phone and up on the speaker?

Thanks for your reply. The speaker I'm using doesn't have its own dedicated volume, only adjusted using whatever's connected to it. It's not consistent in that it's every 5 seconds or anything, but like you said when multitasking (and almost EVERY time the screen rotates) it happens. And sometimes it'll last several seconds at a time.
This has been an issue since launch with the phone. The only thing that I found to work was increasing voltages with a kernel app but I don't believe this to be possible yet. HTC majorly screwed up with BT Audio on this thing.
I switched from an LG G2 at launch and from the moment I've had the phone, I've been experiencing audio cut outs when music is playing through bluetooth. Whether it be through the Samsung App, Google Play, Pandora, Spotify or Milk, I've found no way to troubleshoot the problem successfully.
I'm curious as to whether anyone is facing similar issues or whether I received a faulty unit.
You may have a bad one.
I Bluetooth audio in my car all the time and no problems.
What have you tried troubleshooting wise?

Just about everything that does not involve a factory reset.
Might as well now...
I actually noticed that as well! I'm seriously contemplating in exchanging mine!
I think I that one worked! Also worked with lock screen lag! Switch I switched from ART back to Dalvik!

Sorry, can you expand?
The lag disappeared when I switch from ART back to dalvik (somebody had said that ART was faster, so I switched to ART).

I have also known this annoyance. I was considering returning it as well, but noticed that some of the eq settings don't work over bluetooth anyway, so I switched back to a cord in the car. I don't notice it as much when using my bluetooth headphones, though is does occur. Hopefully, some custom Rom will correct this some day...
I was on ART, but it caused other issues. I believe this is happening on Delvik...
Had the same issue. Connected to my 2013 accord over Bluetooth, audio would drop and come back. It was driving me insane.
What is happening
The issue is the CPU drops to almost a sleep mode and the Bluetooth drops, and then picks back up after the CPU realizes it was connected via Bluetooth.
The Solution
You need to be rooted, download No-Frills CPU control from the App store.
Set it to on demand,
set it to min clock 1.958 Ghz on demand,
apply on boot.
It should not drop or stutter anymore after that.
I also shut off the wifi sniffer under the advanced settings of wifi, that kills battery and I was suspect of it.
Hey everyone,
When I have my phone connected up to Bluetooth in my car I can stream music (from andrewhaug.com app) for about 5-10 minutes before the music stops. If I wake the device it will resume streaming. Has anyone experianced this behaviour? Is there any kind of setting that I need to look at?
Im running DevBase 5.9.
I have tried resetting the Bluetooth settings but to no avail.
I have noticed possible similar behavior. When using my s9 plus verizon with my 2012 infiniti g37 randomly the Bluetooth music will skip on Spotify(every couple of minutes the music I'll pause for a second almost like a skipping CD) Never experienced this with my s8 or s7. Its always been like this with my s9. Never changed any settings or bothered looking into it.
So, somewhat of an update.
Over the past week I have noticed that the music streaming only cuts out IF the app is not the main focus. What I mean by that is; the app has to be running in full screen, like any normal app, BUT, if you exit out of it to the Home screen or go into another app and then lock the phone, that is when the music stops after a certain amount of time. Even though the app has a background service running, for some reason, its not the main app in focus, it gets put to sleep/kills the resources for it.
A bit of a weird quirk. Not sure if its an Android thing or an app thing.
Put the app out of battery optimisation & allow its background activity

I have battery optimization turned off for all apps.
Another interesting issue is when I'm streaming music, a call comes through, and when its done, the music doesn't resume playing. If I resume it like normal, it then stops like the original problem.
I can restart the phone and then it doesn't have a problem.
