For what rom and version? I'd recommend edgans for standard gB roms.

Kens alien build 3. Im already on edgans and was thinking of trying kholks
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Edgans is a very solid kernel.

I'm also interested I'm on picrust running faux and was thinking about switching to kholks kernel. I pretty much just wanted the extra 110mhz though

Im on Ken's Alien v.3 and have tried Faux's kernel for awhile. Wasn't impressed, so I switched to Kholk's kernel which has gotten good reviews for battery life. We'll see how it goes... this is my first full charge with it

I have been running Faux123's 1.6 kernel with Alien #3, I have been very happy with both. Battery life and performance have been great.
Most importantly stability has been solid.

I currently run mikg rom on the evo what would be a good ROM for the photon

im still looking too lol im in the same boat
All the roms we have are good roms, jokers skinny is good, cm7 is stable enough for daily use, and miui is getting close to stable soon. Flash anyone of those if you don't mind losing 4G. Joker has another rom you can flash without losing 4G its pretty fast!

I'm using skinny4g for locked bootloaders.flashed via bootstrap .
It's deoxidized so you can flash different themes.
I'm using the black out theme.

I've been using CM7 with jokers 1.3 oc kernel for going on 2 months now with no issue. That would be my recommendation until we get a clean and stable ICS build. 4g sorrows shall continue.

Ok ill be upfront i didnt try that much, but for the sake of lulz lets see how long it takes for people to beat my score.
http://score.nena.se/nenamark/view?version=2&device_id=606
the current high score is held by myself at 27.0 (had 27.1 but scores refused to submit)
please keep in mind that im doing this with stock 198_7. the rom itself has a few tweaks done by myself. kernel is stock (yea i really beat out someone running at 1.3ghz)

I would want to know this too!

When I was running MIUI, it seemed like the best battery life was achieved using the stock kernel.

Thanks! Ive been running the stock kernel and it seems to be getting decent battery life
Just wondering what's the best gingerbread rom around that still has blur on it. I've been on Turl's CM9 since it came out and now im going to give my phone to my sister and she wants it the way official Moto rom looks like.
Any help will be very appreciated. Thanks

You shut your mouth.
Think Celtics can pull game 7 off?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA
I think nottachtrix is by far the most complete, but the battery life, for european users at least, isn't its best element.

thanks for all the responses guys .... I'm trying NottachTrix and so far it looks promising .... battery life seems ok but I will know more about that in a couple of days once it has gone through a couple of cycles.
Hey guys...
I'm running Gingeritis 3D v1.2 with Ziggy's kernel.
What's the best settings to get better and longer battery life?
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda premium
Use imos kernel, 1024 max ,smartass governorv2 and undervolt -75 all across the board if possible.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
Should it work fine with Gingeritis 3D?
I've actually never flashed a kernel... so if I do flash this kernel, will it remain there even after I change to another ROM?
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda premium
If you change roms you'll change kernels unless you are using a Rom that has the same kernel. It's not like radios. It's easy to flash just wipe caches and flash the kernel in recovery.

My current ROM, Gingeritis 3D v1.2, is a sense based ROM that came with Ziggys kernel. So because my ROM is sense based, I must find the most recent kernel by Imoseyon that is a GB/Sense kernel... correct?
Can you help me verify that this is the correct and most recent kernel available that is compatible with Gingeritis 3D v1.2?

Thanks a lot for you help man.
You always seem to help me.
Try version 6.1. It's based off of 605.9 so it should work just fine.

You're welcome. Glad its working out so far.

Very noticeable battery life difference.
So far I am running your recommended 1024000MHz max and 245760MHz min on the smartassv2 governor.
Across the board right now I am actually -125 and it still runs perfectly. May keep dropping it as long as it can handle without freezing, or is this bad?

It isn't bad just remember not to check apply at boot so that if you get a reboot it doesn't get stuck at that voltage.
