Hi! So I just got the atrix and really want to know the best way to go about rooting it, sorry for the noobish question but can someone please give me some instructions on how to root it...any help will be much appreciated

Look at the noob guide thats stickied in general and just keep reading around until you feel comfortable with doing it yourself don't jump in without knowing how to do it

You can also use the photon-torpedo method with adb if you have it setup.
Guys please DON'T post anything in the development section if you're not developing anything. This area is for devs we don't need it cluttered. Most of us browse the general section we could answer your question there. Its enough that we dont have much development going so when we see a new thread we get happy only for a let down lol.

Not really a noon at all idiots. After looking through 3 pages in both q and a and dev. Section I didn't see a thread with that title. Just trying to point a friend in the right direction as I dont own an atrix so I wouldn't know where to begin. Thanks for the link smart ass

there are these things called stickies. usually you would look at those first before regular threads.

Really? Cause you sure act like a noon. Dont ask for help if you cant accept any answer somebody is willing to give you, even if its not an answer you like. HERE, this is what you need.
So I'm new to the xda application but not flashing and customizing my phone I'm .currently running miui 1.11.18 having very few issues but when trying to post and ask ?s it says I'm a noon and can't post anything go to q&a wtf I want to participate in the tomorrow forum feel I can help some others but I'm stuck

Yes, listen to nate420. Make sure you read the rules, and if your going to post in the development section, they ask you to not start new threads unless you have something that you have developed, and its ready for testing. Also, if you have questions, that pertain to the rom,mod, app your using, please do ask if you need help, but ask in the thread.

this is honestly getting ridiculous, if you cannot figure this out, please at least TRY to do some research, and if doesn't make sense, research more, then ask in the Q&A/General forum.. seriously dude.. its stuff like this CONSTANTLY that is making XDA ridiculous.. I know I have less than 100 posts and I'm not DEV by any means, and my Join date is just a bit over a year ago (but I at least try all of the above first) so I don't come off as a total ____ maybe I'm overreacting after reading too many of these but maybe not.. you mod's can decide. /rant

I don't understand why people have to insult others when they ask a question. Yes I understand there is a search function,but instead of insulting others and claiming that they're ruining XDA, why can't you just point them to the right direction and not be a elistest prick?
All it takes is 1 person to say read the rules and search instead of OMGWTF use google/search! and oh BTW gtfo because you ruin XDA.

Okay I thought I was all smart and though I could root and flash cyanagenmod on my mums galaxy s3..... Using a toolkit.... I screwed the whole thing up and now its soft bricked/boot looping. The version is i9305. As you can imagine mums not happy..... Please can somebody explain what I can do to get it back to a functioning state assuming I know almost nothing about all this stuff. thanks

Instead of spending time here, head over to the forum specific for your phone model & carrier.
In general, most samsung phones (including your model) can go back to the stock state using odin.

You do not need 10 questions to read any existing threads, or (if needed) ask a question in a Q&A forum. Questions do not belong in Development forums which is why the 10 post rule is in place.
