Hi guys,
I've noticed over the past few weeks that the hard button (home button) has been coming a bit lose on the right side.
It tends to make a squeaking sound when touched lightly however the button functions at 100%.
Anyone else notice the home button loosening a bit?
Some GS2s have firm and some have loose home button, so no need to panic as long as it works.
Apply a little pressure to the right side of the button. Does it eventually click in place? So that you no more have a loose button?

Would it be something underneath, the creaking sound its really pissing me off.
I had this, i sent it for repair which fixed it. However, 2 weeks later its loose again.

Definitely - I mean look at the statistics. There's over 6,000,000 of these things in circulation and there's 2 people on this thread with the same problem! Samsung should get their act together.
This is utterly disgusting

You're right. It's a buildquality thing.
I own mine a few months now, dropped it like 10 times and apart from a little chip in the upperlefthandcorner it still looks good, I don't use a case or anything.

i feel like i got the same thing on my s2
the button is not loose but it moves in place; hardly distinguishable though unless you use a magnifying glass
many reported having light leaking on the sides of the button, i don't have that,
i don't know if i should be happy or
phone is overall fine, its the closest you can get to perfect, with the exception of some varying degree of yellow tint, which i know will be resolved when the official 2.3.4/.5 rom release in my region.
other than that, handle with care, lol.
is it normal for there to be some flexibility when touching the home button, or is the home button suppose to stay in one place? I noticed that the home button moves around its housing a bit (i dont know if this is the right word to use)
if you get too picky about it you can sometimes hear a a minuscule squeak, but when pressing from an extreme corner.
let me know
I had this also but I was able to snap it back...

I hate the volume buttons, too, but for a different reason. Being that they are directly opposite the power button I often find myself raising or lowering the volume when I am trying to press the power button (to wake the phone) with one hand. Having a TPU case on the phone makes it worse because it takes a little more effort to press the power button. I have to be very deliberate with my finger placement in order not to activate the volume buttons. It's a small gripe considering how great the phone is, but he asked.

I have a TC tpu case that has a cut-out for the power button, but covers the volume buttons, making power easier to find in the dark, and volume buttons slightly harder to press. Solves that problem for me.

Only gripes I have about the phone is the area slightly under the volume buttons, if you press it in and then press the back of the phone near it it'll make a bad creaking sound.
The other is the battery controller we're supposedly using blows compared to the original.

This is something that I totally agree with and is my only complaint with the phone. Mine was the same way from day one. It's just a design flaw....a bad one at that. Button feels "spongy" and have to usually use a fingernail to push it just right. learned to live with it though.

if you break it, which from seeing your posts here in this thread you are likely to do so, i'm sorry to hear that.
Seriously, if you have problems with the power button to where you need to use a fingernail to push it just right, take it into a Sprint store and either have it fixed or replaced. I've had mine since day one and have never had issues with the power button. Sticks out just far enough, and has a light "click" feeling when I press it. If yours is spongy and not working, get it fixed.
I have never had this issue with mine. I imagine Sprint could fix it. However, if you go with a custom ROM there are ways to use the volume buttons to wake. Joelz ICS has this option built-in.

Also, I use lockscreen widget to turn the screen off. Free app in the market.

I like mine works great I like how they did it this round. I was always afraid of breakin them on the EVO cause after alot of use they would squeek..
On the evo 3d no issues with mine
Go to a Sprint store and ask for a new cover. The power\volume buttons are on the battery cover not the actual phone.
Well, technically it's all a part of the actual phone, but you know what I mean.

damn you!!!!! I was gunna say that.
Get a replacement back cover or use a rom with volume wake. Also use screen off and lock, free from the market to turn off the screen by pressing the screen and not smashing your button all day long.
You might have better luck at http://www.htc.com/us/support/hotline instead of on a developer forum.
Alternatively you could try http://community.htc.com/na/htc-forums/f/default.aspx?tab=support

Home button is fine, a little bit of grime picket up by the camera.
I also have a crack, and i never dropped my phone
I have the exact issue at the exact same spot. Found the crack a few hours after opening the package. Sent my phone back to Expansys. I will get the replacement today and hopefully the new one doesn't have this crack.
In a Portuguese forum I've seen 2 or 3 guys with cracked bezel. They bought from expansys.
Disappointed!

hopefully any type of design flaws will be ironed out by the time they launch here in the states. that is not good, though.

Exactly. My note has them too, those are normal.
But the cracks that we see above they are not normal.
I hope that mine arrives with 0 problem. I hate to replace my phones. Specially the expensive ones. Don't like to see a expensive thing with faults.
It certainly would appear to be an issue. I just hope they came with the crack, and not that they develop over time.

I'm not talking about those. There are two cracks by the volume rocker, one almost not visible between the rocker and the screen, the other is about a 1cm down and much more visible. There is no looseness there so not too bothered.

Dear,
I also have the same CRACK at same LOCATION near the volume rocker!
Something about the curved screen perhaps?
I had the exact same problem on my s2 before I bought this, I had 6 cracks on three sides of the phone, never dropped or looked after poorly. Kept in a case in my front pocket with nothing else. Samsung didn't want to know about it either. Said I must have dropped it.
Hope this doesn't happen to this too. Will be the last Samsung I buy if it does.

Sorry if this has been discussed already, but I got my SGS3 a couple of days ago (so far I like the phone a lot, coming from an iPhone4) and I noticed today that when I tap the upper side of the screen I hear a little buzzing/clicking or popping sound. It feels like there is something loose inside that moves, and it only happens on the upper side of the screen. When I tap the bottom or mid section this sound is not apparent.
I can also feel/hear the sound when I shake the phone.
Is this normal for this phone or should I go back to the att re-seller and complain?
Thank you
That's definitely not normal. I'd take it in and have them replace it.
I've never heard of a Salaxy S3 with this, better get it replaced

Hmm will deff. try this when I get mine but I don't really press on my phones screen. Just a simple tap, tap, tap-a-roo will do.
I'm seeing the same thing on my Verizon GSIII. I took off the battery door and can reproduce it by pressing on the plastic frame near the volume control. It is clearly the plastic case making the creaking sounds. So annoying.
I was considering exchanging the phone because of this, however now it sounds like it is more widespread. Should I just live with it? Does anyone Galaxy Nexus's do this?

Try this.
This will work
Hold the phone upside down.
So that the antenna will face up.
You might encounter some issues like the screen appearing to be flipped upside down.
You can simply fix that by rotating your head exactly by 180 degree.

Simply, either buy a case or hold it differently, cause you are holding it wrong.
guys are you really kidding me or what?
how should i hold it if that's not a "correct position" ? i'm really interested what the hell are you talking about
why it's not correct position? because of stupid htc made gsm antena in the bottom or what?
Spoke with HTC. They said the fix is to.... Not hold the phone when talking on it. They said you should use the one mini for talking.
Typed on the Nexus

Solder a wire to the antenna.
