Hi all. I've got an Atrix with OTP Gingerbread update, unlocked bootloader and rooted using goapk.com v4.0.0.2. I attempted to flash a theme, which is awesome btw, which was tested by the developer using RedPill Beta v3 root. Not realising that this would make a difference, I'm now stuck in an infinite loop at the theme screen. I'm able to get into fastboot etc. How do i get back to the original theme, and will i lose everything doing so? Thanks.
I think the loop happened because the OTA isn't deodexed. I don't know for sure the best way out of your situation. You might be able to fastboot flash an image without losing all your data.

Appreciate your thoughts. Anybody else have any ideas?

I just pulled and installed the 2.3.4 OTA.. after the install and reboot I am stuck at the Motorola M... I have tried a Factory Reset as I can get into FastBoot etc..
What would be my best course of action? Should I just flash a ROM like Ninja?? or try to go back to stock 1.26 then update from there or will I Brick going that route? Any help would be greatly Appreciated!
What were you on before the update?
Beamed from WinBorg 4G via XDA Premium
I was running stock 1.83 Rooted. Only other thing was flashed 2.3.4 radio..
Same issue as OP (stock 1.83) but I didn't flash a radio, I only rooted with gingerbreak. OTA update installed and rebooted, went to the M logo screen (the version that isn't flashing/pulsing) and stays there. Grabbed the update off motorola's site, put it on my SD card, booted to recovery and installed with that, rebooted, same result
I've got the same issue. Was running stock 1.83 before, rooted and with a custom boot animation. Applied the update and now stuck at the dual core splash screen, even after a factory reset from the Android Recovery screen.
Adrian, I am now up and running....
I unlocked the bootloader using pudding and then flashed 2.3.4 using fastboot from KennethP...
However now there seems to be an all-in-one SBF that I actually just installed on my phone as well that is at the top of the pudding thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136261
Where it says Update July 23... where it says "Download ATT 2.3.4 Pudding+root here... " After flashing that via RSDLite you can click on the link right before that link in the same statement.. "root in preinstall (don't ask questions, read the post in this link)" to Root the 2.3.4 Atrix.. Hope this helps!
Thanks- I tried that route but ended up totally bricking. As in will not even turn on. Hopefully that's so bad that AT&T will replace the phone.
Adrian, I am sorry to hear that.. I would try AT&T and tell them that you pulled and installed the OTA. Hopefully they will do a replace.
Hello, I am trying to flash NFHimself's Bell 2.2.2 CWM in order to install the recent 2.3.4 OTA which won't install but I keep getting the following error, can anyone help?
assert failed: package_extract_file(''app.bin'', ''/internal/app.bin'')
E:Error in /sdcard/Bell_2.2.2.stock.zip
(Status 7)
Installation Aborted
I've tried this many many times now, anybody know how to get this to work?
I'm desperately trying to get Gingerbread Update,
Thanks, and cheers from Ottawa area!
did you try posting in the actual thread (i haven't looked thus me asking)
make sure you are using Tenfars latest recovery to flash (i believe its the 6/30 update) anything else will lead to errors in my experience.
I cant post in the dev section i only have 2 posts lol... and i am currently trying to intall tenfar's 6/30 having a few complications using fastboot, currently searching on how to install... thanks

ok so thats where the initial problem lies, you need to be unlocked to use that recovery and then get the gobstopper.
what rom do you currently have on your device?
Just want to understand your current status before directing you.
I have stock bell 2.2.2 but I tried the webtop mod a few weeks ago, obviouly something went wrong and I tried everything to undo. Nothing worked, so next step was waiting for OTA to see if it would overwrite... It downloaded, but keeps getting stuck at the "!" screen with the little android for 3 hours, so reboot. Now I just want to be able to get GB so I go out and find it a stock rom to flash, so I found NFHimself's.
Now that doesnt work so, here I am... :'/

on the ! screen did you touch the right bottom corner of the screen? (opens it up to show you what the error is).
but none the less you need to be on tenfars recovery to flash this and to do that you need to have an unlocked bootloader.
Ok so I unlocked the bootloader, and now I'm trying to flash CWM by entering Android recovery but I'm getting the ! android screen again, they say I need to delete the recovery-install.sh in root explorer and unlock again. So I did, and I still can't get into the recovery to flash CWM... any ideas?
ok forgot to do one step, i just flashed CWM and rebooting, ill keep you posted
Wow, ok, so I got NFHimself's Stock Bell working, I downloaded the OTA, installed it to 70% and
E:Error in /cache/Blur_Version.0.37.23.MB860.BellMobility.en.CA.zip
so I erased cache, rebooted and somehow GB is installed... I happy i just hope everything is going to go ok...
good to hear make sure everything is running ok though if not you may need to try again.
same error
My bootloader is unlocked and I still cant seem to get past this same error. When I try to use fastboot it will just sit on "starting fastboot protocol".
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
what are you trying to do in fastboot?
Thanks for posting this question...I was looking for the same thing, and you (and the rest of the posters here) cleared my head right up
Guys I need help now please! I rooted, unlocked bootloader and followed a guide to install 2.3.4 on my Orange UK Atrix. First off it woiuld just flash the boot screen. But then I found out that i hadn't flashed a boot img and didn't know what tegra I was so I flashed both witha reboot ebwteen. Now it doesn't flash. I can access rsdlite and fastboot and have tried flashing an sbf I used in the root guide or whatever. EUGH THANKS
Fixed. Flashed a rom/kernel from recovery. Access it by holding volume down and power, then scrolling through options with down. Then press up on recovery.
Im assuming you already know this but make sure with every ROM flash / recovery change / kernel change you wipe things properly or things from the previous ROM could bleed through. And that will cause problems. Good luck, and have fun
I'm in the same boat , i installed the French SBF 2.1.1 , then rooted , and then i tried to go back to stock bell 2.2.2 but wont install
Well I'm now stuck on the boot screen again after trying getting Alien on there, but now trying something different and not even able to get that! Also, what's this fruitcake thing? It doesn't seem to help. Going to flash completely stock and start over after work! Flashing a 2.2.2 UK Orange sbf should be fine right? Thanks.

I believe if you want to flash Alien rom, you must unlock the bootloader after you rooted your phone, install recovery, then install Alien Rom. At this time, try to remove the battery and put it back in and turn the phone on again to see whether phone loads. If not, you may need to flash sbf and start over again.

You are correct sir/ma'am...
Must be unlocked before flashing Alien Rom. Use this process to get back up and running and then re-root. But before flashing a full ROM the next time, make sure your bootloader is unlocked. This P-ROM only needs rooted and you can use Bootstrap Recovery to flash it. Its actually a REALLY REALLY good P-ROM. Hope this helps and good luck!
i had figured it out last nite but thnx for the help still.. really appreciate it
hi there i have been flashing roms on my atrix for a while now but i came along a rom called honey rom which made me use a special version of clock work mod recovery .after using the rom it would keep crashing so i decide to sbf it back to original which it did but then found the clock widget didnt work when plugged into the dock.and when i put clockwork mod recovery on it from the market and tried booting into it ,it would reboot and say fail to boot 2?so i have been trying to flash the original stock tmobile sbf on it and now rsd lite gets 100% of creating the image then says fail to process can anyone help or have got a properly bricked atrix and if so any suggestions on how to get it fixed .im on contract so worried on how to approach tmobile with the said problem
i am on att and i got this same error when i rooted and installed cwm... i had to flash back to a stock sbf then root then unlock my bootloader then recovery worked... not exactly how it works on a tmobile version. but maybe try it again. if not.... you still may be able to get warranty... a few people have been able to use warranty through carrier or motorola... even with root and unlocked bootloader. never hurts to try all options.. good luck!
after flashing rsd light
i have read your comments about you flashing stock rom through rsd lite. just a little suggestion that might help, maybe your battery is to low to flash any rom because i know that atrix has a cap for flashing rom when battery is low. Meaning if your in a certain batter percentage you are not able to flash any rom whether rsd or cwm.
