I had an Optimus V originally associated to my Virgin Mobile account. I purchased the Triumph and did the "phone swap" on the VM website to associate the Triumph with my VM account. I shut the Optimus V down and stored it in the closet.
Now, after 3 weeks with the "pile of crap" known as the Motorola Triumph, I've decided to fire up the old Optimus V on a new VM account. I don't want to kill the Triumph just yet.
Got the new account up using the "activate" process on the VM website, was given a new phone number for the old Optimus V. I attempt to activate on the phone itself, but it's still showing the old phone number, and the activation fails.
My question is this; how can I clear the old phone number on the Optimus V to allow it to activate/associate with the new phone number and account without doing a complete hardware reset dumping all the things I have setup on the phone? I can't see any reason to completely dump everything on the phone just to move it to the new phone number.
This was solved by contacting Virgin Mobile, they stepped me through a fairly simple change of phone number and MSID.

First off I would like to say thank you to xda this is my first post here but I've been lurking in the shadows for awhile now and love all the help and support from this site. I've been able to trouble shoot nearly anything up until now.
ok I have two phone
Virgin Mobile - Rooted Samsung Intercept 2.2
AT&T (Canceled so no mobile network) - Rooted & S-OFF HTC Aria 2.3 (Modified version of Drowningchild's Salsa Port)
The setup is Sipdroid -> Pbxes -> Google Voice
The intercept is able to make and recieve calls and text both on wifi and 3g so this one is working perfectly
The Aria i am able to text through the google voice app but the sipdroid keeps timing out (over the same wifi as the intercept) trying to register. I've gone down the list of configurations one at a time comparing the settings on both and they are identical aside from 3g and edge not being checked on the aria (it's been disconnected anyone so no point right?)
i even tried exiting the intercept so the aria was the only one attempting incase there was a problem with both being registed at once
is there an option Im missing to sync the second one? I've been trying to figure it out for about 2 hours now
I figured it out
anyone else having this problem heres how to fix it
1 - Log into your pbxes from a computer
2 - Click extentions -> Add extention -> sip
3 - Enter an extiontion number (I used 300 since the exsisting was 200) and fill out the rest of the form to match the other sip (I'm assuming you used sipdroid to create the account like I did)
4 - Save chagnes and apply (there will be a red banner towards the top of the page to apply changes)
5 - Configure the settings in the second phone to match the first phone except where it says account name add the new extention
Example my Intercept says Username-200 where my Aria says Username-300
Quick question. I tried to search but couldn't find anything readily available.
Bought my wife an unlocked optimus t. She will use it on at&t for now (another few Weeks until contract of up) them switch to T-Mobile mobile no contract. Right now I switched everything to at&t and have data working (edge of course). The problem is that she can receive texts, but it won't send them. When she his send it just says "sending" but they never go through.
when I go into SMS/mms settings I do see one setting which says "messaging center" and lists a phone number in it. The number it's not my wifes number. I write down the original # and put my wifes # in that. did not work. I don't know if that had something to do with it, but I an guessing that must be routing texts through some t-mo center and not at&t.
Any help? Thanks in advance.

OK here is the deal. If you move your old carriers phone number to your new carrier and sim it will continue showing the new number under 'My Number' in contacts. No amount of sim swapping, resetting, wiping will fix this.
The solution? To use an old dumb phone. I used my old w880i to edit it in the advanced section of my contacts list and voila! My old number is there when I swap the sim back.
So for anyone else who runs across this issue use a dumb mobile phone to edit the number and save it to the sim then swap it back to the smartphone.
I can't believe you cannot change that number in Android itself!
You actually can change, in CyanogenMod. On stock android, that is impossible. Or you can find someone that have an iPhone and use it to change.
I recently had the line on my Rezound switched from my personal line to my new business line. After this all worked well but I could not access the voice mail as it was password protected by the guy who's number I took over. I went down to the local Verizon store to see if they could access the account and remove the password, as it turns out they can not since I do not own the account but the guy at the desk did a factory reset anyways. Now when I boot up I enter the Verizon Activation pages but my phone wont activate. I am running CleanROM DE with Amon Ra Recovery.
Please help! I have wiped, rebooted and pulled the battery as well as the SIM multiple times and can not find the solution online.

Scratch that, I decided to re-install the ROM to see if that worked and it did lol. Thanks for the reply though :victory:
well as thread title says LG G3 cant use phone for dialing services.
This problem has been there since I got the phone in May.
What happens is when I need to press my dial-pad to enter tones to access a service menu like press 1 to get that action completed it does not recognize it.
One thing about this phone is its a FreedomPop phone and I believe it somehow casing the problem using there phone app but there new to me as a provider as my last phone was a Galaxy S3 from boost mobile.
Let me post this now for comments and feedback TIA!
I found a way to get this working finally!!!
