Unlocked optimus t - Optimus One, P500, V General

Quick question. I tried to search but couldn't find anything readily available.
Bought my wife an unlocked optimus t. She will use it on at&t for now (another few Weeks until contract of up) them switch to T-Mobile mobile no contract. Right now I switched everything to at&t and have data working (edge of course). The problem is that she can receive texts, but it won't send them. When she his send it just says "sending" but they never go through.
when I go into SMS/mms settings I do see one setting which says "messaging center" and lists a phone number in it. The number it's not my wifes number. I write down the original # and put my wifes # in that. did not work. I don't know if that had something to do with it, but I an guessing that must be routing texts through some t-mo center and not at&t.
Any help? Thanks in advance.

Google Voice not intercepting on VZW

OK, I know I'll probably get slammed, but I searched and searched and can't find the answer...
I'm coming from the Nexus One on ATT where google voice worked flawlessly. Now, on Verizon with the Thunderbolt, it's a nightmare. Incoming calls don't get my Gvoice message, just a notice saying to enter a PIN. Also, Gvoice isn't showing the correct outgoing caller ID... even though everything "appears" to be setup properly in Gvoice settings and on the Thunderbolt.
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!! Any ideas?
The information on the Google Voice Settings page didn't work for me. Telling you to dial some crazy * #### blah blah blah.
So I did some calling to Verizon and dug deeper. In order to get GV on your VZW, you need to do these steps:
*71[Google Voice Number]
*90[GVnumber]
*92[GVnumber]
Then GV should work.
I was in the same boat as you. Upgraded from TMO Nexus to this and was going crazy trying to figure out why GV wouldn't work.
Hope it helped?
Why don't u just fork out the money for Verizon's awesome visual voicemail! What a joke. Don't think Verizon likes gv.

I just installed the app, dialed *xxxxxxxxxx (whatever number i was told to dial by the app or site) and it seems to be working fine. I've never used it before though, so I'll update this if something goes wrong.

I did that and the voicemail still were intercepted by Verizon

I just followed the directions on google.com/voice and mine worked fine. My voicemail gets picked up by GV.
i had previously set up gvoice with sprint so what I had to do in gvoice was delete my cell number and re-set it up so it would register with Verizon. Works fine after that.

Thanks for the post, let me try it out. Also, after digging more at Google.com, I found these bonus codes depending on what network we're on...
Verizon (CDMA network): *71[GVnumber] AND *90[GVnumber] AND *92[GVnumber]
Verizon (TDMA Network): *74[GVnumber] and *73[GVnumber]
What net are we on with LTE?
Worked! THANKS!
Worked fine for me with just the *71-XXX-XXX-XXXX code BOTH times I had to set it up (thursday new phone, last night after rooting). I just called myself from my Skype out # and it rolled to GV voicemail.
All U.S. Verizon Customers are on the CDMA network.

That code only sets up forwarding for one group of calls. Unfortunately, you need to setup GVoice on the Thunderbolt to properly forward BOTH unanswered (missed) calls, and ignored (intentionally declined) calls. The two different actions are handled differently by Verizon - hence the multiple dial-in codes. Although I don't know what the third code is for.

I'm not going to get into a huge back and forth over it, but I just tested my Thunderbolt phone both ways...I called it and let it go unanswered, and then I called it and hit the decline button on the screen. Both times it rolled to my Google Voice voicemail. I only set it up with the *71 code.
I'm not disputing that your experience may be different, but that's how it worked for me.
Whenever I try to add my new Verizon phone number, it shows up as a Gizmo account no matter what I select (Mobile, Home, or Work).
Just what I was looking for, thanks!
works the same as it did for me from my og droid. i wish there would be an icon telling me what number the people are calling me on. i have a bunch of people call the wrong number and i never know what line its on.
I had Google voicemail set up on T-Mobile with my N1, MyTouch 4G and it worked perfect. Tried to set it up on my Thunderbolt with Verizon and I went thru the set up procedure, dialed the *71 and my google # then *90 and finaly *92. When I was done I tried to call myself and see if it works, I get a message asking me to put the # I am trying to call and hit the pound button. Please help, Love Google Voice and I tried Verizon tech help and absolutely useless, tried to sell me theirs.
Please anyone, I want that Google voicemail app working.

Are you test calling from another # you associated with Google voice? If so try *67

I had a friend of mind call in and he got the same message. I have seen other posts of people with the same issue. I can not find out how they resolved their issue. Someone must have the answer, Verizon tech help didn't have a clue unless I was buying their V Voice Mail.
I also came over from t-mobile. All I did was set my phone's voicemail setting to my Google number, then did *71(my Google number) and my voicemail works fine.

Cant send sms

Sorry if this has been answered before but I can't find the answer.
I got my gsm razr today and I love it but I can't send a text message, I can receive texts and surf the Web. My phone us showing 4 bars of hspa. I can even tether, but no sending sms. My phone says error code 500.
Only thing I found on google said restart it and SMS will be.fixed but that didn't work.
the phone is rooted on 2.3.5 if that matters.
has anyone had this problem and how can I fix it?
Thanks

I have the same problem. The only way I can get mine to work is to put a SIM from another account in my phone. Enter *#*#4636#*#* and go to Phone Information. Refresh the SMSC. It will populate with the correct information. At this point, I can send texts from the phone. Put in the original SIM (do not reboot phone) and then you should be able to send SMS from your number.
The only problem is that the SMSC number does not stay through reboots. I have to do this process every time I reboot.
Does anyone know how to get this number to stick?
I don't have the same problem however I have noticed that GOSMS Pro from the market does allow a Customized SMSC setting in the Send Settings tab. Perhaps you can try that out and see if it fixes the issue?
Thanks for the suggestions. I tried both but neither work. I really like this phone but not having text us killing me. Someone please help

mms pics wont download

ran searches and tried suggested threads, still no solution.
bought 2 s3's. one for wife and one for mom. texted pics to both phones. moms will receive pics but wifes wont. they are bone stock.
for some reason wife get box stating "download". when pushed i get pop up stating "unable to download, try again later"???
then in the text window appears an expiration date and time???
anyone ever get this?
is it a difference in settings between the 2 phones?
i dont see any difference in them however
Are both phones on the same carrier?
I'm pretty sure it's a carrier issue.
Check both phones APN settings are correct (Settings - more settings- mobile networks - Access Point Names) also make sure mobile data is turned on as you need this to send/receive MMS.

[Q] AT&T Galaxy S3 Texting Error (not receiving texts)

This has been an absolute head scratcher for me. I have a rooted T-Mobile Galaxy Note II running its stock 4.1.2 ROM (Eww, TouchWiz. I know). Whenever I text my mom through the stock messaging app, it looks like it went through on my end, but she does not receive the message. She's on an AT&T Galaxy S3 running stock 4.1.2 and also uses the default messaging app. I even get a delivery report on my end when I have the option enabled.
Here's where it gets interesting: she can send and receive texts fine to all her other contacts, and I can with mine as well. My girlfriend is on the same carrier and plan as me and has no issues texting my mom and I have no issues texting my dad who is on the same carrier and plan as my mom. There's something uniquely wrong with the way our two devices interact.
We have both rebooted our devices, cleared the app as well as system cache on both devices and deleted and re-added each other as contacts, all to no avail.
Thanks in advance for any help I may receive and hopefully this will be resolved by Christmas so I don't have to resort to calling her!
I am having the exact same problem with my wifes phone. We have a case open with att tech, got new sim cards on both phones, tried different phones, factory reset both phones. Did you find a solution? Thanks

I did figure it out. Samsung uses two separate utilities to filter numbers. One is for calls and is accessible under Call Settings (press the menu key with your dialer open).
The other is for texts and is accessible by pressing the menu key after opening the native messaging app. It is the last category, "Spam message settings". Look for your troublesome number there. Any number can be added to the reject list by long pressing on the contact's name in the messaging app so it's easy to see how that could accidentally happen.
In your wife's case, even a factory reset may not have worked if her settings are synced with Samsung and/or Google and restored after a reset. The rejected number would be carried over.

[Q] Call ended without connecting

Hi
I've searched around and read a lot but couldn't find the answer to my problem.
Here is my issue.
When I dial a number, it tries to call then ends the call right away before it even rings.
Can't receive calls either.
Can't send sms, nor receive sms.
Additional info.
I have full signal and it says my carrier on the status bar
Imei is correct - same as back of phone
Phone is unlocked - checked status
Unlocked with Galaxsim unlock, paid version
used repair gsii by helroz, didn't work
apn is picked up by the phone
carrier sim applications menu shows but don't work
Went back to stock with mobile odin, all the way to gingerbread which I'm using right now.
Please advice on what to do, any help is appreciated.
Interesting; I've never heard of this particular problem before. The first thing I would try would be a different modem, because that's a very easy fix. Also, incorrect APN's could be a factor, even though you say you've already checked that. I would advise checking them again - slowly. Sometimes something as simple as an extra space (or lack thereof, in the case of the 'default, supl' portion of the APN) can cause them not to work correctly.
Good luck.
I've flashed different modems and that didn't work.
Caller ID in settings give error network or sim card problem it says.
Btw I'm trying with different by Sims and both work on other phones.
Apn is correct I double checked. It picked it up auto.
Let me if you think of something else.
Thanks.
