ran searches and tried suggested threads, still no solution.
bought 2 s3's. one for wife and one for mom. texted pics to both phones. moms will receive pics but wifes wont. they are bone stock.
for some reason wife get box stating "download". when pushed i get pop up stating "unable to download, try again later"???
then in the text window appears an expiration date and time???
anyone ever get this?
is it a difference in settings between the 2 phones?
i dont see any difference in them however
Are both phones on the same carrier?
I'm pretty sure it's a carrier issue.
Check both phones APN settings are correct (Settings - more settings- mobile networks - Access Point Names) also make sure mobile data is turned on as you need this to send/receive MMS.

My friend got a TB and can't send or receive pictures via mms. He gets the exact same message as a poster on a different forum:
"I just wanted to throw this out there as I have not found a solution...
I've had my Thunderbolt for like a week and a half now and for the majority its been great. Starting about yesterday, I've been unable to send or receive MMS/picture messages.
If someone sends me one, I get a little note in my conversation that says "so and so" is trying to send a message and lets me choose download or delete. This seems new to me, I don't remember seeing this notification in my text convo. If I choose download, it shows a little icon with a clock in it, as its trying to download the picture. After about 5 minutes, I get a notification that it failed because of a generic network failure.
A similar thing happens if I try to send a message to someone with a picture in it. My regular texting works fine and I can go on the internet perfectly. I've tried sending messages with WiFi and/or Mobile Data on/off... doesn't seem to make a difference.
Called VZW last night and they took me through battery pulls, SIM card pulls, and whatnot... didn't fix the problem. They were checking things on their end but did not see an issue. The last woman I got gave me two options, 1, she could open a network tix for me or 2, I could go to store and do a phone swap as I'm in my converage period. I told her to put in the tix for now, and perhaps I'd swap this weekend.
Anyone have any idea what is going on?"
So far nobody has answered. He's using stock rom, and the stock messaging settings / handcent settings match the way they are set on my Evo. If anybody could help it would be greatly appreciated.
is it on 3G or 4G? MMS will not work unless your in data coverage
Does not work on 3g, 4g, or Wi-fi.
what about sending it through regular messaging? I couldn't tell if he is using Handcent or using regular messaging. How about uninstalling Handcent?
The problem persists with or without handcent.
Make sure the picture being sent is not too big. If this doesn't do it you may have to call Verizon about it. Going back a few years I had an issue with my dumb phone. Couldn't receive picks. They had to reset my account. Also some providers don't always send pic messages so well to verizon. Have your friend have some on on Verizon send him a pic.

I have been having issues with my MMS on my photon since I got it. When someone sends me an MMS it comes from the number 9000 with a link to the sprint pictures website like back in the pcs days. I can send MMS fine and it shows up inline like it should. I have tried everything I can think of to fix it including flashing different roms and the issue persists.
Any ideas?
Possible PRL/Profile update problem or just bad service right now.
It's does that in mine as well as my friends epic thinking sprint has the problem not the phone

My PRL and profile are up to date and it happens no matter what my service is like. My wifes evo shift is fine...
I was having a similar problem where I wasn't receiving mms. I called Sprint and they updated my profile and boom its all back to normal.

My daughter has the Epic it happened to her and me last week.
I cant send mms while roaming. It gives me a error that says I don't have a data connection. But I clearly do because I am posting this message while roaming. I checked all the settings I can find and they all show that roaming data is enabled. Any ideas?

If I understand this correctly, the fix to the following problem is to call Sprint to have them update my profile? I ask this because the last few times I have called Sprint regarding this issue they did not know what I was talking about:
All MMS text messages come from the number 9000, and prompt me to click on a link to view the picture on the Sprint picture mail site, instead of simply viewing the photo in the MMS message itself.
Thanks.
Quick question. I tried to search but couldn't find anything readily available.
Bought my wife an unlocked optimus t. She will use it on at&t for now (another few Weeks until contract of up) them switch to T-Mobile mobile no contract. Right now I switched everything to at&t and have data working (edge of course). The problem is that she can receive texts, but it won't send them. When she his send it just says "sending" but they never go through.
when I go into SMS/mms settings I do see one setting which says "messaging center" and lists a phone number in it. The number it's not my wifes number. I write down the original # and put my wifes # in that. did not work. I don't know if that had something to do with it, but I an guessing that must be routing texts through some t-mo center and not at&t.
Any help? Thanks in advance.

Alright, so I rooted and flashed his phone to S8 about two or so months ago when I was pretty new to the S2 as well. I didn't do any thing else other than root using super 1 click, and flash CWM and the latest (back then) version of Serendipity. I'm not sure what version it is, as I don't have the phone (he's on constant business trips, hardly see him every other month). I just sent him a few pics of newyears back home, and he says he can't view them. When he get the message it says preview or download, he tries both, and they both say Download failed. Not sure what is causing this. He does have data enabled, which was an issue I found after searching around here.
Second issue is sending group sms's fails all the time. It doesn't matter who's part of the sent list, or the number. 2 people or more and it gets stuck on sending for a while, and then fails. Any leads on this? I'm gonna upgrade his S8 to the latest version as soon as I can, but that won't be till the end of this month.
Try using gosms. If the issue is still there. Check your apk settings

He means apn settings...
This was a common problem in S8. You should have dual apns and while the main "selected" one called att phone will be mostly blank and set to "default" type, you need to make sure that the second apn, either called att mms or att wap has the wap.cingular settings and the type is set to mms for you to be able to send and receive messages properly...
You can search them easily but for the most part you need to have the wap.cingular part and the wireless.cingular.com part....

I searched far and wide for a similar thread, but I think my situation is somewhat unique.
I have an early release developer version of the AT&T One Max. It won't even say which version of Android or Sense it's using, it says protected.
Needless to say (maybe), I had to manually create the APN. I copied exactly from my HTC One. Everything is working, data, LTE, blah blah, fully functional. I can even receive MMS. I can't send, though! My recipient gets a message to the effect of, this attachment was unsupported so it's been deleted. On my end, it's apparently sent with no problem. Does this sound like I could've done something wrong with the APN? I don't really want to call AT&T because me using this phone is a little sketch. I've never had to create the APN on my developer phones before, so I'm not extremely confident?
Thanks in advance!
That's happened to me on other phones I had. Does your pictures get compressed before sending?

Yes I believe so
I'm on one as well, but mine sends fine, and receives fine...Mine had the apns preprogrammed into device, this forum won't let me attach images via web on mobile but the apns are different than on the HTC One...Screenshots posted of the apn's for the AT&T One Max Test Device
could you send me the MID number of this phone? also the RUU IMG file possibly?
