All rooted :) - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all
So I rooted finally . . . .
Now my main reason for rooting was the battery drain. . .
Ive got titanium backup on my phone . ..
What is the best things to freeze/unistall to improve my battery life??
also any further simple things I should do now Ive rooted??
Thanks

Do you know what was causing your battery drain in the first place? On my phone it was wifi sharing and maps, but I've since rooted and installed a custom ROM (Lite'ning), and am hoping this fixes it.

I really don't know. . .my battery was draining in idle and I yesterday it went nuts and just drained down to 15% from 50 % in few hours .. not even using my phone. . . .
Really wanna know whats my nest moves now to improve battery

As battery drain was your concern, I'd highly advice you to install Better Battery Stats and see under Partial Wakelocks.
Search for it in XDA.
Regards.

Got a interactive app now. . .
How can I delete that??
Can find it in titanium or in file manager??

[Q] Problem with my S2

Hi guys i really need someones help to explain something to me. I not even had a galaxy s2 for a month and i have been noticing problems with it. I flashed different custom roms because i heard having a custom rom is more battery friendly and makes the phone go a lot faster than having the stock rom in. So i went ahead and flashed a custom rom but i have been having problems with the battery. Fully charge it and within minutes of using wifi and browsing in the browser the battery starts being drained like crazy. Anyways i called the place were i got it from and i have send it in to them for an exchange. They said to me they will have to test it first to see were the fault is before they do the exchange. I have to say here that i flashed back to stock rom with the latest firmware using Kies. Anyways they had it for a few days fully charged it and they say that they can not find a fault and they are sending me the handset back. I have to admit being on stock rom the battery does last longer.
Anyways what can i do next and were is it that im going wrong and is it worth sending it to Samsung directly once i get my handset back?
Does it take few days for the battery to settle and get the proper use out of it even with a custom rom or shall i just stick with the stock and just root and use my phone as normal because other than the drainage there is nothing else wrong with it.
Thank you in advance...

hey thanks again JJEGAN for replying but why does everyone suggest to go to custom rom then? and i have display on lowest and i hardly have widgets so why on custom rom my battery gets sucked like crazy? do you think its worth staying on stock rom and just root the handset?
Thanks
ps when you say wipe the battery stats i did do that and charged the battery and still the same so were do i go wrong? could it be the custom roms that i have been using and not let the battery have a few days cycle to adjust to the new rom
Why do you want to root it? The phone is a beast on stock. Save yourself a load of hassle and get timely OS updates by staying stock. Root in a years time when the phone gets old and isn't supported anymore.

Read the battery drain posts stop your apps from draining the battery .
Overnight sleep test with GPS Bluetooth and WiFi off on a fully charged battery target 2% drain per twelve hours . Better Battery stats set to show Wakelocks .
me today checked 2.5 days usage admittedly light use = 54% drain

If you have done using your phone and will let it lie idle for a while always go to task manager and clean memory
It helps
Just freeze every single thing you dont need through titanium backup.
Worked for me pretty well.
Just be careful with the system apk's, some of those are nessecary to run.
It seems the stock ROM you're on has one of the best battery life. If you're just concerned with just battery life I highly suggest you to stay with your stock ROM and kernel (cf root). The problem might be related to phone usage, maybe too many apps that sync very frequently (facebook, twitter maybe?), in that case you should try to sync them manually.
Anyway if you want to try siyah kernel, I've read that many people experienced good battery life. For me the stock cf root gave me better battery life than siyah 1.7.7 and 1.7.8. Anyway, trying won't do you any bad.
hey
after a night I my battery drop 2%, i think it is to much. Here is some screens maybe you could advise something for my?

speedmode k18 problem

Kernel is great ??? but drains battery badly ???
Beyond the scope of my brain this one .

I have no problem with speedmod k18 and my battery usually drops 10% every 6-7hrs on idle with 3g data on. try reflashing a different rom and see if there is any difference.
If you can't give us more info then this then you are really not suited for flashing kernels.
Download better battery stats and see what kernel wake locks your getting. Other than that our better off posting in the kernel thread for help

Hi and thx for advices.
Im curently on CheckRom 4 anyway great rom.
Standard battery, no modz nothing like that.
I moved from k16 to k18 via kitchen .
I install that apk battery stat and where i find that 'kernel wake locks'
i have only battery metter , voltage and temp in conntext menu.
I dnt know thats right but on 33% battery voltage show 3745mV its not to high.
Its good kernel better then k16 faster smoother but drain battery quick i knw shouldnt be like that.
I read when u wipe all cahce useing ultimate cache cleaner reboot should take up 3 min mine boot strightway and how i said nothing happen . I know that should help some people had same problem with k16 and that help.
In 15 min battery drop from 33% to 32% phone is in sleep mode .
Sorry for my writeing and one more time thx for help.

should i switch a kernel? wipe cache?
What JJEgan wants to say (and actually says) is that there are a lot of threads considering bad battery life on ICS ROMs.
Have a look at this thread:
[REF][Rewrite 26/10] What the Android OS usage is and what it's not
It might not solve your problem, but maybe it helps to understand the issue.

Hey I just stumbled across this thread.
Could use please explain to me what you did to solve your problem? You mentioned something about disabling power saving mode in AOKP.. what does this mean?

How avoid rapid Battery drain? (AOKP _Bezke ROM)

Hello there members.
I am using the AOKP ROM from Bezke and its a stable Rom , unfortunately it drains allot of battery in just a hour time, a huge amount of battery life which made me stunned.
Is there a way to avoid this as I am going on a vacation and I want to use my phone allot for filming and making photo's.
Thanks in advance.
install betterbaterystats an c wats causing the drain...we jus cant say anthing wiv out a logcat...
All ROMs are different. On the ROM I use it's fine using CM9 kernel... but you can also try another kernel on it like Siyah. 3.1.2 and 3.1rc6 have been reported to have good battery life (in particular their deep sleep works well). I'm testing the new version now, so can't report on it for another day or 2.
That's about all to suggest... and disable any apps you really don't use or rarely use - because you can enable what you need when you need it (this should also help with battery as won't run them in background).
Good luck.
Read the battery faqs and posts and guides .

install better battery stats, bad ass battery monitor, identify wakelocks , solve them. turn off sync, manual brightness set to low. all basics would save your juice
