Hi Guys...
I've Already Uncapped My X10i (2.3.3) To 54FPS, But It Seems A Little Bit Eye-UNFriendly In Scrolling Or Some Other Stuffs...
I Wanted To Know Whether There Is a Way Back To Factory 30FPS or Not?
If There Is a Flashable Package Via Recovery, I would Be Thankful To Provide Me So...
Thank You In Advance...

I can bet you have a backup around your sd card from before you installed the uncap

Is There Any Solution?
Can SB Send Me His/Her Own Files? Just Like The Zip Package Which I've Already Flashed...

I just did the fps uncap thing and youre right its fast(awesome) but if its uncomfortable for you, you should get try doing the 34fps uncap, it will be slower i think
Just search for in the forums "fps uncap" there will be a topic about someone wanting to go back to 34fps, download from there and flash thru xrecovery

I think 34FPS is still a Modded cap, since the original is only 30FPS, I need the original because I want to get rid of battery drain, too...
but anyway, thank you dude, every word you type makes me owe you one

Well, you got me in a boring night so i started looking around but couldnt find the original.
You gotta keep looking but if you.dont find anything, back your apps with titanium and flash doomlord's pre rooted image, i know it sucks to do a fresh start but the battery is worth it.
This is just as a last resort though

lol why would you possibly want to do this?
there is no battery drain imo, and it is a million times better/smoother.

r u sure there isn't ant battery drain?!!! my battery sucks after flashing this mod, although it performed pretty decent before flashing 54FPS...
but as u know, there is no way to precisely monitor the effect of a single mod like this on the battery life...
so, I DO put my trust in you and assume that there is no battery drain
thanks a million dude

Why would anybody wants to un-uncap the FPS? That has nothing to do with battery drainage.. Also I don't get how an unsmooth scroll animation does not hurt but smooth one does?

First of all, as I said before, anything we say about battery drain is just an estimation, there is no way to precisely calculate how much battery is used more than before applying such mod.. Then I said I just FEEL that drain, when people like you, and other friends say that it doesn't, so I put trust in you
and about un-uncap, what you say is basically true, higher fps gives better smoothness of overal performance, but that happens only if GPU is capable of doin so, a weak Adreno 200 is not somthing brilliant at that render, especially running at these goddamn kernels of SE. also Vertical Sync seems to be disabled in order to reach that 54fps, which gives the screen a little bit annoying refresh rate, THIS is the ONLY thing which bothers me, and we are still in the same boat that it gives a UNBELIEVABLE smoothness to the device
now, if you are sure about battery drain, then I will keep the current setting, since as you said, it is really nice and smooth
thank you bro, thanks for everything

I think you are uncomfortable with the tearing that occurs occasionally, i think that we should wait for an fps cap at 54fps so it doesn't tear as much as 54fps uncap.

YESSSSSSSSSS, that's the point, I think you're completely right, because constantly changing fps is the thing which hurts the eyes, if sb (for sure Z!!! ) could find a way to cap it to 54fps, it would be great...
Disabled Vertical Sync is annoying

Ok so i have 3 questions in 1 thread!
I have a X10 mini pro 2.1 (U20i):
1- Has anyone "currentwidget" working on this phone?!
I installed it and the widget shows always Error (i have root access).
Any help is appreciated!
2- How to maximize battery consumption!?! It's barely holding 15hrs of minimal use!!! Wiped the battstats and didn't have so much improvement!
Any help is appreciated!
3- I need arabic support for the phone! Does somebody have it working?!? Where can i find libs, frameworks...?!
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks

Ok, this is the solution to about half of your problems .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=263#td_post_81
And let's see if I can answer those questions!
1. It does not work, at least the one in the market... It's for the nexus one, there is a ported version for the vibrant too, but I'm not sure if it will work either. Anyway, it's a bit of a stupid program, go buy System Panel.
2. It is more about running proceses than anything. Best app you could download to see what is running wildly, System Panel (and yes, pay for it), or just take some other task killer, like Advanced Task Killer, and see what runs without you wanting too. You should uninstall that crap. Start with Timescape. That app is truly pure crap.
Ah, also, put the widget Power Control (which come included) and try to keep everything deactivated as long as you can. Each of those things SWALLOW battery, more than eat. Put APNdroid, and keep internet deactivated too. Download Setcpu (it's free in this forum) and put the minimum Hz to 128 (the minimum you can put).
What else... eliminate all the SE **** you can and whenever you are not using the phone, kill all the running apps with Advanced Task Killer. Or you can use Autokiller, didn't work for me.
Put a battery percentage icon too. You will notice when something is eating your battery with it. If you don't want a theme, use Battery Indicator.
3. Sorry, don't know what the hell I could use that for. Open a thread for this.
EDIT: looked att your profiel, and man, you are no noob, why the hell are you asking how to improve your battery? It is a standard, androids consume if you let them, nothing else. If you really need battery, underclock it with setcpu and problem solved.

First of all thanks for your reply!
About current consumption I'll try also "battery monitor widget" to see if it works!
Man i asked those bcz i'm not a perfect noob (we all are noobs at some point); i'm concentrating my efforts on my HD2 and i dont have so much time for this X10 minipro; so i asked bcz maybe there is some kind of a trick or a known bud/problem that may decrease battery consumption!
About downclocking, my own experience (and many others) shows that it doesn't affect battery much (barely 5 to 10% so it's not worth it) and besides it introduces instabilities so i prefer not to tweak anything about CPU.
However i thank for re-introducing the autokiller memory to my mind bcz i completely forgot it although i'm using it on my HD2!!! hahaha
Oh, no problem then, dude ^^ mm downclocking does work for me, i believe :/ anyway, the best memory optimizer is autokiller, trust me in that see you around!!

To me the name this thread looked as if you´ve found a piece of software which solves these three problems.
Just to address your battery problem - no there is no solution unless you cut off data transmission or use GPRS instead of 3G. 15 hours is decent time.
Can´t say anything about Arabic, though.

My battery lasted many hours longer after disabling data traffic. I only enable data traffic when needed then immediately disable it again. There's a built in widget to enable/disable data traffic.

Hi!
I heard a lot of SGS2 users talking about these 2 custom ROMs like Lite'ning and Villain ROMs. Right now I'm using the Lite'ning ROM and I'm pretty happy with it, but I feel taht I need a change you know. So I was thinking to chnage my current rom to Villain ROM, but I don't know if it worth it? I need help to decide myself.
I would like to know which have the best battery life as I usea lot WIFI, internet and games. I focus most on the battery usage and a bit of style system improvements.
So, help me do decide, Lite'ning ROM or Villain ROM?
I don't even think it's worth rooting this phone right now. It's up to date, it's fast, all as stock...

I want to know more about the battery usage? How much it lasts?
I actually feel that samsung made this phone pretty beastly as is and did a good job on the fw, so i prefer just stock KG6; I do from time to time flash CM7 to see how its running along with its changes. I say either CM7 or Stock samsung is amazing for this phone.

You sure you are actually using the phone
One week!? I was excited when mine lasted for two days! Put up a picture of this!
And how do I print screen it?
Home + power buttons
you guys dont seriously believe anyone is getting a weeks battery do you? lol
I tried CM7 and VillainROM 2.3/2.4.2 and stock of course. CM7 and Villain are far better, faster and the battery lasts longer
Don't think there will be much difference in battery life with the use of either one of these ROM themself.
They do use different kernels but you can flash them separately and then use setCPU and underclock / undervoltage and try to improve the battery life slightly that way ....
Also some opengl games (myth defence) don't work well with my old stock rom (KE7). Now with CM7 everything is fine and smooth
NeoPhyTe.x360
Tried both, used Villain Rom for a while. now love NeoPhyTe.x360

i dont quite understand the ppl who buys android phones and doesnt modify it... i mean the only TRUE difference between iphone and sgs2 is powered by iphone iOS and Android.. which is open source... the other difference doesnt really matter much.. processor ( yea its more powerful but duuh.. there isnt much things to do that really require that much power) or the screen (duuh iphone has abit better screen so what? if u dont look closely u wont even see difference(atleast not me)) so yea if you gona buy sgs2 i RECOMMEND you to do alot of flashing and rooting and play with it around
WITH BACKUP of course... especially the EFS backup
It all depend how you use your phone. Sometimes I it for hours on end and go through 2-3 batteries a day (I have 3 spares).
Today I used it very little. About 7 phone calls, 2 messages and only about half an hour browsing / xda etc. Currently on 85% after 18 hours.
So usage makes a massive difference.

do you think is there a need to change the Kernel version ? or just do the official update and it will be fine ?
Definitely stick to official updates. Regardless of what anyone might tell you, it's a fantastic phone running stock firmware. And if you're not confident about flashing custom roms/kernels (there's a small risk everytime you do it that things might go wrong/you might brick your phone), definitely stick to official firmware.
At the very least until you've done a lot of reading on here and are confident to try different roms/kernels. If things do go wrong, it might take you a few days of research on here to work out how to fix your phone (which means you won't have your phone working for that time), and at worst you'll have to return it to Samsung for repair. Which you'll probably end up paying for as running custom roms/kernels voids your warranty.
So slow and steady, stick with stock for a while and read. Then read some more. And when you're done doing that, read for another couple of months.

Sorry but got to disagree, yes its a great phone as stock but with custom ROM and kernels its an amazing phone. The devs here have done some amazing work. BUT (and its a big one) dont do a thing till you've researched your arse off, and you understand all the risks of what your doing.

Latest stocks have been fine, even stock kernels have shown improved battery life. But with a custom rom/kernel combination your setting up a phone the way you like it with many ways of tweaking it.
If you do buy one, update to latest stock, try it out, if your not happy then root and enjoy.
My post was an attempt to persuade the OP to stick to stock should he purchase an SGS2. The last thing we need on here is yet another " Hlap mai fone broked !" post :-/ (and everything that goes with it).

My wifi and GPS are on 100% of the time. I never turn them off. Today, 23 hours since charge and about 2 hours screen time and battery on 69%. But 3g is off (2g only) and no email sync.
Yesterday, heavy usage and went through at least 2 batteries.
BTW, since I got the s2 I've only ever used cf root kernals. Nice and stable for me and the closest thing to stock. Others claim increased performance or have over clocking etc don't interest me. I believe the phone doesn't need them. Also using Checkrom. On the S1, well that was different.

Oh my god! Overclocking is not for starters! Be sure to read a lot before doing that. Go to wiki and search here on the forum. I can only say that you are doing in that in a irresponsible way, you could have bricked your phone.. The restart were normal overclocking brings instabillity. Just dont overclock if you like your phone.

I know that too but its really risky specialy when you overclock that much...
Try to search for a quicker rom or kernel instead of overclockin.

Of course you can overclock but be very carefull not setting cpu speed too high and never set the speed at boot before you're absolutely sure that is stable else your phone will keep restarting like it did. Also overclocking depends on kernel too, so different kernels different stable max speed.I use rage 2.4 on my st15i and i went as far as 1.6 only to run some benchmarks.1.8 or more is very risky even for benchmarks the heat could destroy your phone. These speeds are not for everyday use beside the risk of destroying it the battery consumption would be massive.I'd say 1.2 for everyday use is perfectly normal cause it's already a very fast phone

yeah, tha phone already gat high speed... am using NeroDroid Rom!
I've flashed cm7 yesterday and I've noticed that the battery life isn't that good. Is it gonna get better? I recalibrated the battery last night and I've seen little improvement ...and is there a way to change the CPU speed?

You might be stuck with the battery you have post calibration. As far as CPU speeds I believe you can slow down the speed but you cannot speed them up. We need unlocked bootloaders for that

Didn't mention that you can use ROM toolbox or the CPU manager found in cm7's settings to mess with CPU speeds.

I've tried changing the CPU speeds in those settings but nothing is changing. When I try to go to a lower speed, it just stays the same ... Any idea why?

No idea why, it always helped conserve battery when I was on miui.

Give the rom a couple days to "level" out. I just flashed eclipse 2.1 on my room mates phone and the first couple days his better life sucked and then it better and better, I suggest you do a battery calibration, some say it works others say it doesn't. I feel like it does.

Ight I will. I'm really loving this ROM
One thing I've noticed between the Blur-based ROMs and CM7 is that it seems that the display uses a lot more in CM7. On Blur ROMs "Phone Idle" has the highest % and on CM7 it's "Display". I've tried dimming the display and/or shortening the timeout but it doesn't really make much difference.
Also, FWIW, battery calibration is useless: https://plus.google.com/u/0/105051985738280261832/posts/FV3LVtdVxPT
