Had this on my former SGS1 too. Eg. is Yahoo mail shown as installed even though it has never been on my new SGS2 only on my old one.
Any other experiencing this?
Do you have em installed on any other android devices?
In the web based market?
Yeh, it does that for some reason, you can install them just by hitting the button that says installed (would normally say install) it will install OTA like normal.
Can you say bug!

Strange that Google haven't fixed it. Seems easy enough.

I updated the app a couple nights ago and now it wont open and load anything, it hangs and then force closes everytime. I've uninstallled and reinstalled and it will allow me to login and it will work fine right up until I close the app and reopen it.
Any thoughts?
Had the same problem. I ended up reverting to the previous version with a backup.
Crashes for me too. I also went to a backup. Not sure what is that last version to work. My backup was from a month ago.
Mine too on CM7 Nightly 177 booting off an SD card. Hopefully they can get it fixed.
Have you fixed permissions? It runs fine for me,not a fan of it but it works.

Seems like the app is crashing when it tries to find your location using the (non-existant) GPS. Is there some way to inject a fake GPS position?
Install tetherGPS lite and start the client, it spoofs the app into thinking there is a GPS signal. Recent check ins load fine with this fix.

Are we sure it's not the app its self? the reason I ask is there are a lot of reviews of it not running for many.

I couldn't get it to work but I've switched to friend caster pro anyway. Way better IMO.

Friend caster is more tab optimized than the normal app but still not a real tab app.

Why would you post this?
As of nightly 212, there is no built-in ability to fake GPS. This was never any mention of that ability on any changelog, and it certainly wasn't sneaked in or anything.
Facebook still attempts to access GPS and force-closes as of nightly 212 / October 6th (I'm guessing it is an incorrect or simply unhandled exception. Facebook for both Android and iOS are famous for having terrible programmers).
A fake GPS program is still required to use Facebook.
The Facebook app goes from bad to worse. Uninstalled.
Is there any other fix that doesn't require me to start the gps client every time before wanting to use facebook? What is the latest version of facebook I can get that will function fine without a silly work around? 1.6.?

Happened to me more than twice.
so far, that problem didnt appear to me..
This happens to me on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Sony Tablet S. I think its just Honeycomb.

Yeah, my thoughts also. The quirks I encounter seem Honeycomb related. Haven't encountered anything of concern.
I just performed an install of cm7 a3.5 on a brand new touchpad and have run into a problem with gtalk. Gtalk shows everyone as offline after a short period of time and logging out and back in doesnt always solve the issue.
I wasnt able to find much searching on this topic. Does anyone else have similar problems or ideas for a fix?
Thanks!
Check your time. If its off it will kick you off the servers.

I have the time set correctly. If this isnt a cm7 problem in general should I wipe and reload it? If so, what steps would be necessary to do so?
i hate using gtalk on the touchpad. the gtalk apps are just really buggy, imo. even on other phones i've had they've always had issues. if you really want the chatting ability just download any other messenger that supports gtalk.

I like the app and I dont like the extra junk in other messengers. I may just have to live with that though since noone else seems to have this problem.
i have that issue. also there's an issue when i log out where it doesn't really log me out or close the app.
i keep holding out hope that the ICS version will fix my complaints.
I have the same issue, logging out then in has always fixed it for me though.

I haven't run across this issue yet and I use gtalk on a regular basis. possible that it's because I'm using the gapps package with new gtalk? I suppose it wouldn't hurt to give it a try.

Every third party browser has been crashing. a lot.. And it started exactly when I upgraded to 4.2.1. Anybody else noticing this?

No completely stock... .. Google *sigh*
I'm also noticing just a general glitchyness about them all. This thing isn't worth a whole lot to me If it can't surf the web without crashing constantly...
Found the issue with the third party browsers

It seems a quick fix is to disable javascript which worked for me.
Im getting the same thing but I'm still on 4.2. I tried the ota update but it didn't take but I'm still being affected by the 4.2.1 browser bug. Annoying.

This fixed the crashing issue for me but unfortunately that means that half of the sites I go to (including this one) don't render properly. This issue needs to be fixed NOW. Like yesterday. Pretty unacceptable.

More likely you're on 4.2.1 but the build.prop just didn't get updated. There's some discussions about that in the general forum.
I checked and still had the People month bug but have since updated properly using cwm to flash the zip.
