Atrix Aura ROM (v1.1.2) - Working Camera Installation - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had no camera after first installing the Aura mod, so I'm posting this to give the steps I used to get my camera working.
First I used the Automatic BootLoader to UnLock my Atrix & install CWM. I did update CWM using romracer's custom CWM (I had to place the .img file in the same folder as the Auto BootLoader files, btw), but I'm not sure that was entirely necessary.
That done, I used CWM to create a backup of my current ROM (which was the stock version). Backup completed, I proceeded to these steps to install the Aura ROM (v1.1.2):
1. Held the VOL Down button while pressing Power until 'Fastboot' appeared
2. Pressed the VOL Down button several times (7, to be exact) until 'Android Recovery' appeared
3. Pressed the VOL Up button to select 'Android Recovery', ie: CWM
4. Wiped Data/Factory Reset (Power button is used to select in CWM, btw)
5. Wiped Cache
6. Wiped Dalvik Cache (in "advanced" menu)
7. Selected "install zip from sdcard" and installed:
7a. Aura 1.1.2
7b. Contacts
7c. Camera
8. Rebooted into CWM by selecting "reboot system now" and holding down the VOL Down button until 'Fastboot' appeared
8a. NOTE: Do NOT reboot normally at this point !! <== Learnt this the hard way
9. Installed Faux123's Kernel (v0.1.6) from here
10. Rebooted normally
Hopefully this helps someone. This n00b had some difficulty following some of the fairly simple instructions in Diviance's Aura thread. I only switched away from Nokia yesterday after 13 years of Symbian.
Apologies if this post is in the wrong place. I tried to add it to the actual Aura MOD thread, but didn't have permission (not enough posts).

HOWTO : Resolve bootloop AKA "Stuck at Dell logo"

This thread is for the service of all those who are stuck in bootloops (AKA the infamous "Stuck at Dell Logo") after trying some warranty-voiding activities on their cellphone.
I take no credit for any of the solutions below, they have all been discovered and posted by various people, and I have merely collated them into this one single thread.
That being said, there are various things you can try, in increasing order of complexity, to get past the bootloop issue. If one of these methods does not work for you (no single solution worked all the time for me), perhaps one of the others might help.
Note that after applying any of these methods, you will need to wait at least 10 minutes to see whether your phone's bootloop issue is resolved or not.
METHOD 1 : Simple Factory Reset
Power off your phone.
While holding down both volume buttons, power it on again.
From the recovery menu that appears, select option 1, "Factory Reset", using the volume up/down buttons, and then press the camera button to actually do the reset.
Your phone will say that a factory reset is in progress, following which it will reboot. Let it do so in peace.
METHOD 2 : Factory Reset, Reinstall ROM, Factory Reset
Requires ClockworkMod Recovery. Install it on your phone first, if it doesn't already have it. Since the installation is done via fastboot, it doesn't require the phone to be booted into a ROM.
Perform a Factory Reset as per Method 1 above
Power off your phone.
While holding down both volume buttons, power it on again.
From the menu, choose "Update from SD", which will take you into the ClockworkMod Recovery screen.
Flash the ROM of your choice (it _is_ already on your SD card, isn't it?).
After the ROM is flashed, select to reboot now from the ClockworkMod main menu and then HOLD both volume keys down immediately after choosing the reboot option, and keep held until you return to the recovery menu.
Perform another factory reset per method 1.
Let the phone reboot.
METHOD 3 : Using "adb shell" to delete the contents of the "/data" partition. Solution originally proposed in a thread by cue_32
Connect your bootlooping phone to your computer via USB.
Run "adb shell" on your computer (requires you to have the Android SDK tools installed). This will give you a shell into your phone.
In the adb shell, run the following commands:
Code:
cd /data
busybox_1P8P1 rm -rf *
After the "rm" command above has run to completion, run the "ls" command in the shell and if it returns anything except "lost+found" then run "rm -r <name>" where <name> is the directory/folder name you see.
Reboot the phone and wait.
METHOD 4: Formatting partitions using ClockworkMod Recovery. Solution originally proposed by DJ_Steve.
Go into clockworkmod
Select "partitions" menu item
Format /system
Format /data
Format /cache
Press the "Power" button to go back to main menu.
Choose the "select zip from sd" menu option
Select the required update zip from sdcard and flash it
Select to reboot now from clockwork menu and then HOLD both volume keys down immediately after choosing the reboot option, and keep held until you return to the recovery menu
Choose "factory reset" as per method 1 and let the phone reboot.
If anybody has a method - not listed here - which worked for you, please let me know and I'll add it to the list.

Install new RUU (from 5-12-11), while retaining your apps, sms, contacts, system, etc

***DO NOT RESTORE IF YOU'RE STUCK IN A "POWERING OFF" LOOP AFTER UPDATE FROM VERIZON***
I'm on a rooted ThunderBolt, and I attempted to do the update, but the update failed. (Android character with exclamation mark (!) )
And was stuck on a loop--keeps says "Shutting down" each time I reboot into the Android operating system.
So, this is what I did to stop the "Shutting down" loop.
1) Once you are in ClockWorkMod Recovery, scroll down to "Wipe cache partition".
2) Select "Wipe cache partition" using the home key or power button.
3) Now, scroll down to "Yes - wipe cache".
4) Press the home key or power button to perform the wipe.
5) When done, restart your phone.
6) Your ThunderBolt will boot into the Android operating system and will say that the UPDATE FAILED.
7) Choose Cancel to stop the update.
8) Restart your phone one last time and you'll see that the "Powering Off" loop is gone.
Hope this helps!

Did you attempt to reapply the update or just ignore the update then?
Do not download the OTA update If you are rooted!

Click to collapse
No, but I found a better solution that you may like...
Following the steps below will get you up and running with the new update, plus keeping your data, programs installed, contracts, sms, etc...
YOU DO NOT NEED to use apps like MyBackup Pro
1) Use ClockWorkMod or ROM Manager to backup your current ROM.
2) Go to this thread, and download (the RUU which has been rooted): PG05IMG_Mecha_VERIZON_WWE_1.13.605.7_Radio_1.16.00 .0402w_NV_8k_1.41_9k_1.64_release_182727_signed.zi p
3) Rename the downloaded file to PG05IMG.zip
4) Transfer PG05IMG.zip to the root of your microSD card.
5) Restart or pull the battery out to turn off the phone. (Using the "shut down" option may put your phone in hibernation -- depending on the option you set).
6) Power on the phone by pressing and holding down the power button and pressing and holding down the volume-down key.
7) Your phone should boot-up in like HBOOT and will attempt to detect PG05IMG.zip. Just press yes to install it.
***NOTE*** Your current ROM will be erased! See Step #1
8) After your new rooted ROM is installed, set it up like normal, and afterward, delete the PG05IMG.zip from your microSD card.
***NOTE*** Next, we're gonna do Advanced Restore from ClockworkMod.
9) Restart or pull the battery out to turn off the phone. (Using the "shut down" option may put your phone in hibernation -- depending on the option you set).
10) Power on the phone by pressing and holding down the power button and pressing and holding down the volume-down key.
11) Choose "RECOVERY" (highlighted in green).
12) You should now be in ClockworkMod Recovery, choose backup and restore.
13) Next, choose Advnaced Restore.
14) Choose the backup that you made earlier.
15) Now, choose "Restore data".
16) Finally, restart your phone and all of your data, apps, contacts, sms, settings, and whatever else, will be restored.
Hope this helps!
I personally never even worry about ota's anymore. with how many people are out there working on custom roms usually you can find one that includes the ota way before its even released. so just find one of those and save all your setting and apps with titanium backup or my backup pro.

anyone knows any tutorial to install Neutrino rom or codename rom i am in cwm9 imnob

please help i have motorola atrix 4g at&t and please the link of neutrino or codename rom :c
if you are in CM9 that means, you have a rooted and bootloader unlocked atrix with CWM recovery. I will help you buddy...
PREPARE YOUR PHONE FOR FLASH THE ROM;
-make sure you have installed the drivers of motorola. It is recommended for your pc to recognise your phone when you connect it.
-(I recommend GT version, it is FAST and battery life is great! Better than EE.) Download the rom and the addons on the link>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26657806&postcount=7819
-put the files in your SD CARD.( put the .zip files to your SD CARD, do not extract!)
-PREPARE yourself for the flashing
1) FULL WIPE
- https://www.dropbox.com/s/1tgt2yax88rp2mi/Moto-Fastboot FULL WIPE.rar <<< DOWNLOAD THIS.
-Power off your phone.
-open your phone in FASTBOOT mode. (press power button and volume down at the same time until you see 'Fastboot' on the screen, then press Volume up to activate it. Connect your phone to your PC.
-RUN the "Moto-FB Full Wipe.bat" and follow the instructions. (I remember that you should only press ENTER )
2)FLASHING ROM
-Power off your phone and POWER ON with POWER ON+VOLUME DOWN again.
-When you see Fastboot, Navigate with the power down button until you see ANDROID RECOVERY. (I think you should press 7 times to power down to see, if you pass it do not press up to go back just keep pressing vol down to see it again.) When you see Android Recovery Press VOL UP to enter the recovery.
-navigate to 'install .zip from sd card' with using vol up or down then press POWER ON button to enter.
-'choose .zip file from sd card' and power on button to enter again.
-find your Neutrino2.8GT.zip file and press power on!
-It will install in 15-20 seconds.
-then install the ADDONS by following the same method. (install zip from sd>choose zip from sd>default camera apk(that was the one of the addons.)) You may install all of them or some of them, depends on you. But just install them all
-after you done, reboot your phone by selecting 'reboot the phone' in the CWM recovery menu.
-ENJOY YOUR AWESOME ROM.
PRESS THE "THANKS" IF I HELPED!

phone stuck on the start-up screen - (Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000)

Hi Guys,
I was trying to install the new MIUI OS on the GT-N7000 and followed the below instruction:
How To Install MIUI and Google Apps?(only if phones is rooted and has non cm10 kernel)
Download MIUI V5: goo.im/devs/ibotpeaches/miuiandroid/releases/3.7.12/miuiandroid_GT-N7000_jb-3.7.12.zip
And GAPPS : goo.im/devs/ibotpeaches/miuiandroid/releases/gapps/miuiandroid_gapps-4.1.2-small_signed.zip
And CM10 Kernel:sourceforge.net/projects/anikos/files/AniDroid-JB-N7000/AniDroid-JB-N7000-v0.5_10092012.zip/download
->Put EVERYTHING in external SDcard
2. Switch Off the phone and Go To Recovery Mode.( to go to recovery press and hold the Volume Up
+Home (center) keys simultaneously and then hold the Power key. Keep the three buttons pressed till the screen turns up, the Samsung logo blinks for two times.)
3. Flash CM10 Kernel.
4. Reboot back into Recovery(you'll find the option on the same screen or go back to main menu and check)
5, Now Wipe Data, Cache & Dalvik Cache
6. Flash MIUI V5
--> To flash miui v5 :- First of all, backup your current ROM so that you can restore it in case you do not like the new ROM. Scroll down to “backup and restore” option and select “backup”. It might take a few minutes for the backup to complete.
9. When it is done select go back option and choose “wipe data/factory reset” option and wipe it.
10. Then go to ”wipe cache partition” and wipe it.
11. Finally go to “advanced” option and “wipe dalvik cache”.
12. Return back to the main menu and select “install zip from sd card> choose zip from sd card” and select the ROM file that you copied to your phone.
Finally, go back to the main menu in Recovery and select ” reboot system now”.
7. Reboot the phone and then go back to recovery mode and then..
8... Flash GAPPS
9. Reboot and you are ready to go.
NOTE::: The first boot after installing a new ROM takes much longer time (up to 3-7 minutes) than an usual boot. In case your phone does not boot properly and you are stuck on bootanimation remove the back cover, pull out the battery, wait for a minute and reinsert the battery. Boot phone into Recovery again and “wipe data/factory reset” . Reboot device and things should go fine.
So 1st the phone was stuck on cyanogenmod screen, Because it was stuck I rebooted twice & then Wipe Data, Cache & Dalvik Cache and Flashed the ROM and Gapps post which the phone now does not go into recovery mode at all when i try (up volume + Home + Power) When i do so its stuck on the screen which says Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000. Dont know the way ahead PLz help guys.
Hope someone can fix this.
Regards,
Alex
