Ohhhh.....Error 16 is common after rooting. You neglected to metion that your voice calls didn't work either. Just make a call from your phone, it'll connect to sprint, they'll reset everything, and have you power down your phone for 30 seconds.....It has nothing to do with your custom rom, it's because of the change to your bootloader.

It'll receive/send texts perfectly fine (well, it'll give me an error but it still sends it).
It happens so often, it starts to get frustrating.
Does this happen to anyone, if it does, any help?
(If it helps, I'm running BAMF Sense 3.0 RC3).
I can't use the phone function most of the time. When this happens, I usually have to do a battery pull, or a soft reset. Usually when I do a data wipe, it fixes the problem.
But how can I stop this problem from happening and make my phone reliable again?
You never explained exactly what it is that's happening that is making your phone unusable. How does it not send/receive calls?
sorry for the clarity.
but basically when I receive calls, they go straight to voicemail.
when dialing an outgoing call, it won't ring and the phone will say "call was lost", even when I have full service.

Have you try on stock rom and does data work ?

I just wiped everything clean. Data works fine and I'm able to send texts (but I receive a warning) and receive them too. Phone calls don't work. Do you think its a problem with the phone itself?

Rooted my aria a week or so ago and have been enjoying the possibilities and freedoms!
A couple days ago, my phone stopped receiving calls. Someone please help me! I've looked all over at threads involving the same damn issue to no avail. Seems as if noone has a solution.
The first thing I'd try is to put your SIM card into another phone to see if you are able to receive calls. It could be an issue on the carrier's end.
If the SIM card is working fine, you can try taking a Nandroid backup and then doing a clean install of CM7, then rebooting. (Make sure to do wipe data/factory reset, format /system, and wipe dalvik cache before installing to make sure it's a completely clean install.) If the phone can receive calls after a clean install, then there's something in your software/settings that is causing it to not work. That can give you an idea where to start looking for problems (or you might consider just continuing with the clean install instead of trying to figure out what was wrong with the old install).
If the phone cannot receive calls after a clean install, it might be a hardware problem. At that stage I'd try reverting back to the original Android 2.2.2 ROM (unrooted) to see if it works with that.
Good luck.
Okay I did these steps but I installed a backup that I made earlier today. There is still no sign of phone receiving calls other than voicemail. I didn't put sdcard in another phone, I'm sure that's not the issue since I can make calls and send, receive texts. I'm guessing that I will have to erase all my apps and reinstall them one by one. Does anyone know of any apps that interfere with calling? I've already uninstalled Skype.

I had this problem a while back. It seems to be AT&T's network in my case though. It rarely happens any more, but still happens from time to time. Try flashing another nightly. If that doesn't work, clean the contacts on the back cover at the bottom with a q tip and iso alcohol.
Title pretty much says it all.
When I first rooted and flashed a rom last night, calls were just fine. I can seem to send calls and texts but I cant receive them for some reason! Does anyone know what I should do to go about fixing this?

Yesterday I flashed the newest CyanogenMod 11 nightly, and I am now unable to call, text, or use mobile data. When I go to About Phone ->Status and check my phone number, it says my phone number is 000-000-0626. I am able to connect to Sprint, however. I tried going back to CyanogenMod 10.2 stable, but the problem still exists. I also tried going back to the stock ROM, and the problem still exists. I looked for hours online, but could not find anything to fix my problem.

You need to flash back to a Sense ROM and reactivate your device. Looks like your device programming got wiped out.

If you are still on a sense ROM, dial ##72786# from your dialer and select reset from the menu. I'm not sure if it will work from CM though but you could try.

Dialer codes don't work on AOSP.
I also suggest updating your PRL & profile from a Sense ROM. Also, make sure your firmware is up to date. If you've done all this already, try what @Evolution_Freak suggested above.

Hi, sorry for the late response. I updated the profile, prl, and firmware, and that did not fix it. I ended up doing the ##72786# method, and I am now able to send mms, but not receive or send/receive sms. 3G (and hopefully 4G) still works, however.
As the title says it wont send or receive calls but it will send and receive text messages. When trying make a call the phone shows it has signal but as soon as the call tries to connect the signal drops and call is lost, incoming calls go right to voice mail. anyone have any ideas?

Idk try wiping the dalvik cache, I had a similar problem but the other way around (wouldn't send or revive messages, but I could make calls) and wiping the dalvik cache fixed it for me

Well then the only other things I can think about is its either a problem with the service provider or its a hardware problem, maybe try giving your service provider a call and see if they can do anything to help

Lol you can't call your service provider, maybe then go to your nearest store or contact them via online
