Hi Folks,
I have an issue with internet access with my Archos 70IT(H) (rooted FW 2.3.81 +rw). I recently moved into another flat-share and wanted to access the wlan there.
the network set up fond the network in question - no issues. the pw was accepted as well. finally the connection was established - so far so good.
Then I tried to connect the internet - noting. non of the internet applications worked. The network connection was still active (at least the sign indicated this). I tried to reboot - same issue.
now the funny bit: I tried another network - my archos worked fine. and I had no issues before.
I went back to the network I have trouble with and established the wlan connection with my laptop - no problems at all. click - done.
I have absolutely no idea what it is. Obviously it looks like an issue with the rooter but what can it be? the laptop connected without any problems? The only idea I have right now is a firewall is blocking the access of my archos.
Does anyone know what ports does the Archos use to connect to the internet (I would assume the same as a laptop, but...)?
What else could it be? Anyone any idea?
Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!

Bought my gtablet a few weeks back when it was on woot and have loved it so far. Did the Clockwork/TNT Lite setup, and have added a few games and apps...
I'm not sure if it is an app I installed or something else, but right now it will connect to WiFi as always, but the internet doesn't work. Other devices using the same access points connect and work perfectly, just my gtablet is failing. It goes through what appears to be a normal connect and gets an IP without any failure and shows connected, but none of the news, marketplace, or web browser apps are able to connect to the internet.
Any advice to trouble shoot network connectivity? I had recently installed LauncherPro and was working on installing Titanium Backup Pro, (which I either didn't actually download and was just emailed a key, or it never installed because I can't find it anywhere...)
Thanks!
Chris
I'm having the same problem with the ad-hoc wifi connection to WMwifirouter. The gtab shows it is connected with an IP, but no internet traffic will pass. That same ad-hoc wifi connection works with other winXP laptops.
However, wifi connections to my two other wifi router works fine.
I'm on stock 3389 with tnt enhancement pack.
Adhoc problem sounds gateway related.... the former issue... id start with a wipe.

I have the same issue - was it fixed yelrx8 ?
Well, the title says pretty much all .. I earlier didn't have this problem.. Then since last night, I came back home and connected my Galaxy Ace to my home wifi, but this time, it wasn't transferring any data.. It would be connected, full signal, but no internet connection.. My browser, gmail, YouTube, PlayStore, nothing would load.. It'd keep saying Connection Error. Retry.
My wifi works properly on the computer and other devices, and my phone used to work perfectly too! Why's it suddenly giving this problem?!
Any solutions!?
SOLVED!
Okay so I figured it out on my own!!
I went to Wifi Settings>> Advanced>> and "Use Static IP"
I then provided my phone with an IP address, gave the DNS servers as mentioned by my Router, and gateway, is ofcourse, the IP adress of the router. NETMASK is Subnet mask ..
Once I filled in them correctly, and as per my router settings, my mobile is now transferring data and I can now access the internet!
Just thought I'd post a reply incase anyone else was facing this problem
No data through laptop hotspot.
I have a similar problem, but with using my laptop as an access point. My Samsung Galaxy Ace had no problem connecting to either my or my wife's laptop access points initially till about a week ago. I use an HP while my wife uses a DELL. We both run Windows 7. But, here's when things started to get strange.
1. The Ace even though connected through my laptop's AP Wi-fi cannot send or receive data after the first few seconds.
2. My wife's Dell XCD35 (ZTE Blade) has no problems.
3. The Ace has no problem connecting to an Android AP or my wife's laptop AP.
I reflash and unrooted my phone and basically brought it back to factory settings but no luck.
Tried using other services for using my laptop as an accesspoint - mhotspot, virtual router and connectify - still no luck.
tried static ip - no luck.
reinstalled the MS Virtual Wi-fi Miniport Adaptop driver - no luck.
Somehow, there is a security setting on the laptop that's preventing my phone from connecting to the internet. I think I maybe connected to the network, but access to the internet is restricted.
There are no other features like MAC address binding or anything like for laptop APs.
It's getting really frustrating now.
Any help would be appreciated.

Set your Internet to "Allow other computers to share this Internet connection". Other ideas would be to check/disable your firewall
Wifi connected but not working
My Galaxy ace plus connects fine to wifi network but cannot browse internet or play store. I am using a free public wifi so i dont know about the static ip address. And this problem was from the starting whn i just bought it. So is there any other solution for this problem or not?
I tried everything... I restarted the modem- no luck. I filled in the blank from the advance wifi setting- no luck
Apologies if this has been asked before, but I've searched and couldn't find anything that matches what I'm after.
I have a GNex running custom 4.2.2 and Windows 7 x64.
I want to be able to access my phone from my PC. To do this, I installed AirDroid. All good so far.
Issue 1: Using WiFi to access the phone, it doesn't do anything when the screen is off/the device is locked. Annoying.
Issue 2: Using USB tethering, it works fine when the screen is off, but kills my PC's internet access. Also annoying.
I would like to use USB tethering if possible, but I only want to be able to access my phone via AirDroid, not use it for internet (my PC has a much better wired connection already).
More on issue 2: Windows says the DNS server is unavailable when I troubleshoot. The moment I plug in my phone and the NDIS-thingy connection is formed, I lose internet access via my normal connection. It goes back to normal as soon as I unplug it. I've tried changing the priority of the network devices, but to no avail.
Any help appreciated.
Solved my own problem.
To those who are curious:
Under network settings for the USB tether, set DNS server addresses manually, go into advanced settings, and set the default gateway to whatever your router's address is.
My internet problem.
My internet drops between a couple of minutes till 1-2 hours after I connect with my wifi. When I reconnect it works again for a certain time.
I'm still connected when my internet has been lost, but I can still acces my lan.
When I connect to the wifi of my modem there is no problem at all, only when I connect with one of the 4 routers that are connected to the modem.
This problem is only with the use of my phone, other phones/laptops don't have this problem.
The phone is a Kingzone K1 Turbo (chinese brand)
Options I tried:
On the phone:
- I had the same problem on the Zopo zp998 (uses same motherboard)
- Tried with manual dhcp and dns server on the phone.
- Tried google dns server.
- Other devices don't have this problem.
- Used wifi fixer
- Reception and speed are higher dan average.
On the router(s)
- Changed the wifi channels and tried both 2,4 as 5ghz.
- Tried on 4 different routers I'm using.
- Turned of routing function and dhcp release on routers, and tried it with it turned on (different ip combinations)
- Used different security settings including no security
- All firewall settings are turned off.
None of these options have helped untill so far. Who has the same problem and who can help out.
For now I use onlt the modem to connect, but the wifi doesn't reach other parts of the house.
fixed..
Called my internet provider to change the modem and the problem was solved.

Hello TrNaSe,
I've got the same problem. Do you know what the internet provider did change on the modem?
With kind regards,
Supernoki
I had a thomson modem before. then i got back to a samsung horizon box, after it there was no problem. Recently I change back to another modem again an ubee. I don't have the problem again, so it was something strange in this thomson.
So when I connected straigt to it, it was all fine, when using a router to connect it got this problem.

Hi All,
I just received a replacement for my V10 that suddenly died and I'm now having Wi-Fi connection issues.
When I brought it home yesterday the phone was still on 5.1.1 but updated overnight to 6.0 both experienced the same issue.
I have not rooted my device yet but will in the near future.
I have 3 different access points in my home with different id for each.
I can connect to one of them but not the other two.
When I try to connect it I eventually get a WI-FI connection error, or the connection is labeled disabled, or the connection doesn't connect and just shows saved.
I have tried:
1) reset the router
2) changed the password
3) changed to an open connection e.g. no password
4) forgotten then connection on the phone
5) restarted phone
none of these have fixed my issue.
Anyone have similar issues?
Anyone have any ideas for a fix?
Thanks you all for reading my problem.
steve
Just started having a similar issue yesterday. Stock MM, no root. Factory reset had no effect.
Maybe you can join my thread, I have problem with wifi also. You can check if we have same issue and may try my workaround http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-v10/help/wifi-mac-address-changes-reboot-h90120j-t3470140
I actually just noticed this on my phone yesterday. It seems to happen to me when the wifi signal is a bit weaker (but should still be able to connect). My wife's V10 didn't have an issue though. Haven't find a solution yet, but my wifi would also not find any connections after it would disconnect and have to rescan to locate any networks.

Have you tried to do factory reset?
