I am a newbie here, so I hope I posted in the correct thread.
I have unlocked and installed the Oxygen ROM on my HTC Desire.
It is working successfully. I have one small problem/query however.
When I am connecting it to the USB, I cannot read the drive from my computer.
Has anyone experienced this problem? Do I need to format the SD Card?

have you restarted your computer and your phone? That's what has corrected this for me in the past.
A stupid thing. In the Oxygen ROM notifications screen, there is an option to enable the USB.
That solved the problem.

Hi,
I've been trying to upgrade my Hero to the latest ROM from Orange UK but have run into problems...
I've tried as many solutions posted on the web as possible but to no avail...I'm starting to think I've got a dud phone.
I'm running Vista SP2 32bit...downloaded Sync and Drivers from HTC website. When plugged into PC it says something like USB device has malfunctioned and is not recognised.
An icon appears in notification bar saying HTC sync, but when clicked it says HTC sync cannot be found on your computer.
It appears in device manager as "Unknown Device" and if I try to update the software to the HTC drivers it has an error and says make sure it's designed for windows 32 bit or something along those lines.
I've tried on 4 different PC's with 5 different cables, all to no avail with the same outcome.
I've used a friends HTC (not Hero but runs android) and that was recognised straight away.
Am I missing something or am I right in thinking the phone is buggered and I need a warranty claim or something?

Forgot to mention - is there any way to update the ROM not through a PC? For example can I put it on the SD card then transfer across?

Does it make a difference when you have USB debugging activated?
Settings --> Applications --> Development --> USB debugging.
Unfortunately not, I've tried it both on and off!

Follow BTDAG's guide linked in my signature. Download flashrec and amon-ra recovery, put onto SD and see if you can install.
This doesn't solve your original issue though, but will allow you to flash custom ROM's.
is it possible to get a FREE (i emphasise COMPLETELY FREE) windows driver for a vodafone 845? could you please send me the link and the instructions on how to install it? also, is it possible to get froyo or gingerbread or a sense ui on the same phone? (please dont say mr edition. the last time i tried that, my phone stpped working).

If you use the original rom or TCT_RLS3 rom, when you connect the phone with computer by usb cable, the computer will firstly identify the phone as a usb disk, the drivers are there.
i also got a problem with that i made a mistake on recovery clockworkmod and i mount the phone via usb but i see on pc's folder removable disk and i cant access to it

Hello!
First of all: Yes, I have searched. Both XDA forums and google in general.
I am reverting to the stock OS on my Desire. I am doing so using the program I found here.
Basically, you connect your phone to the PC (USB) and run the program, easy as that.
However, I can't get any connection between my phone and PC. Neither in the installer here, or HTC Sync. But I can still charge the phone and mount USB storage.
I have tried various versions of HTC Sync.
Any ideas on how I can fix this? The reason I am using this installer and not just a zip file is because I have to send my phone to reparation, and therefore remove all traces of me rooting the phone and installing a recovery and a rom.

I just flashed to CM9 on my LG C800 and its working amazingly I cant believe I didn't look this up sooner.
Here is my problem
My computer wont recognize my phone when it is setup as a Mass Storage Device (Yes I'm click Turn on USB storage).
Normally I never needed any drivers for this before but just to make sure I installed the ones from LG and to my surprise no luck.
I can use USB if its as a camera or a media device (Not useful for me)
I flashed cm-9-20121125-NIGHTLY-c800
Currently Running
Windows 7 Pro x64 SP1 (not a virtual machine)
It keeps trying to install "MTP USB device"
If anyone has any idea I would appreciate it, I've looked in the original thread for any posts but I haven't found much of anything.

I think your map is turned upside down. We don't have sd card slots, much less UMS.

Thanks for the quick response, but my phone does have a microSD card slot and I've used it as a mass storage device when it was using the stock firmware.
I found this thread that says some phones lack the mass storage support

To keep it short, installed CyanogenMod 10.2 like 4 months ago (i'm not expert on this topic at all, just curious and daring). All this time i haven´t used the USB transfer for anything as i had enough music on my sd card when i flashed it and didn't have time to add more because i had too few spare time. Also if i needed a file i uploaded or downloaded it from Dropbox.
Lately i've been trying to transfer some new music via USB but my PC isn't recognizing the device. Installed Kies but that didn't work either. Tried to connect it to 3 more PC's and a Mac and none of them recognized it. Before that, with stock rom, didn't have any of those problems.
is there a way to solve this issue???

Did you enable Mass Storage mode after connectin usb?
