[Q] A05PTH3ORY V1.4X - How to enable text input keyboard navigation? - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I searched and was unable anything-- how do you enable navigation buttons in text entry for this ROM? Editing long text messages before sending is next to impossible b/c I can't scroll up or down or left or right to see what was previously entered.
Posted here b/c I'm under-count to post in the dev thread in the dev forum.

I use "smart keyboard pro" with the HTC themed skin. It had the nav buttons you're asking about.
Signature.

My best suggestion for you would be downloading "Gingerbread Keyboard for 2.3". After downloading it, go into your settings menu, and under "language & keyboard" enable gingerbread keyboard. Then go into anywhere where you can input text, longpress the text box to select "input method" and select "Gingerbread Keyboard". From this keyboard, press the spacebar and swipe your finger up. This should pop up keyboard arrows. When you're done, swipe down instead of up.
If I helped ya, and hit the "Thanks"

[REQ]TMOUS - Text Selection context

In the HTC Text Message tool, when you are writing a message, if you long press in the text area INSTEAD of the default context menu with "select all, copy/cut/paste " It displays a cursor position slider to move the cursor exactly where you want to, with a context menu to "select text" that shows two cursors to multi touch to select text. This is an awesome feature, this is similar to how the iPhone text selection works, only without the zoomed in view.
I would like to "enable" this functionality across the system. Such as selecting text in emails, browser, twitter, facebook, or wherever. Is there a way to enable this cool functionality?
I'd be happy with an everywhere enablement. Even better is to configure so that it appears in the "select all copy/paste" context menu as a new item "cursor position" or something similar.
*Update: I am not alone apparently, and this is not news.

*Tip I also found useful:
40. Enable Magnifying Box When Selecting Text
Press and hold your finger on any text in a HTC app such as Messaging and an iphone-esque selection procedure with handles to drag and highlight text will appear. Modify the following registry entry to add a magnifying window as you select and highlight the text. Go to:
HKLM/Software/HTC/TextSelection/EnableMagnifier and change from 0 to 1.

How might I open the notification bar via a button

I'm running Launcher Pro, I have my notification bar hidden, and I'd like to have a shortcut on the launcher to open the notification bar. I'm not sure how to go about doing this.
I tried to go through Launcher Pro's activity list, but I didnt see anything for the notification bar. I could probably figure out how to create a Launcer Pro shortcut if I knew which command was being executed to open the notification bar.
The alternative is to press the menu key and then the notification button, but pressing two things is harder than simply pressing one...
Any help would be appreciated.
Pretty sure you can map it to the home button
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
You can do it through LauncherPro. When you click on the LauncherPro dock, select Swipe gesture action and then you can pick open notification bar. Then for the button on the dock you just set this to, you can swipe your finger up and it will open your notification bar
You have a couple options for this.
1:
A. Long press any of the icons on your Launcher.
B. Select "Swipe gesture action"
C. Select "Open notifications"
D. Now when you swipe up on that icon, the notification bar will open.
2:
A. Press "Menu"
B. Press "Preferences"
C. Press "Behavior Settings"
D. Press "Home key action"
E. Press "Open/Close notifcations"
F. Now when you press the home key, the notification bar will open.
G. You can set it to still send you to your home screen first by selecting "Home key to default screen" on the "Behavior Settings" page.
I knew there would be smart people here who had figured this out. These worked and solved my problem. Thank you!

[Q] Disable the button to change keyboards.

Alright, I HATE Swype, and basically all keyboards under WinMo except for the default full QWERTY. I hit the stupid keyboard open/close button ALL THE TIME when trying to hit the space bar, and I am tired of it. Is there any way to completely remove or otherwise disable this button? Thanks to anyone who can help.
I too am very frustrated when I just want to hide the keyboard and instead a popup appears to choose form other keyboard types :-/
Is it possible to only use the QWERTY keyboard without any other to choose from?
Or Just assign only show/hide keyboard function to that button...
I got used to touch the button on the left side, but anyway I would love to disable this feature as well.

[Q] Vegan 5.1.1 - Switching between keyboards

There are 3 keyboards listed under the Settings on Vegan 5.1.1.
The "Android Keyboard" has its own settings button that will enable you to switch to a different keyboard. So to try out the others, i switched to the Tap n' Tap Western keyboard. Now i cannot change it. There is no setup button on this keyboard and i cannot find a place in the Settings menu that allows me to change the keyboard.
How can i switch between keyboards in Vegan 5.1.1?
Touch any text entry box to bring up the keyboard. Then hold your finger on the blank entry box until a menu appears. From there menu choose "input method". Now select which keyboard you would like to use and it will switch.
Thank you so much! I'v been looking for a way to switch all day.

We need a developer to implement the idea in the keyboard Google.

There is the idea that when swipe to the left of the button "delete" was given to all the entered word in the keyboard TouchPal.
