Bluetooth on my TB doesn't connect to my computer or elantra, but it does easily to headsets. Anyone else experiencing this?

My bluetooth will connect to my car to answer phones calls but as far as being able to play pandora after rooting I having been able to do that.
I think the AOSP roms are the only ones that correctly implement the latest blue tooth stack. HTC uses an older and broken implementation. If blue tooth means that much to you, I would try looking a non sense rom

I have an AOSP ROM, I can talk through the bluetooth in my car but I cant play music like I did when I had stock. I am planning on flashing some different ROMs on my 8 days off this coming week, I dont like running into problems while I am at work and then I get busy. I will report back to see if any other AOSP ROMs work and which dont. As of right now
Th3ory's ROM I have listed - Talk ( yes ) Music streaming ( no )

For what it's worth, I can listen to music on the latest stable CM7 using imo's latest kernel using various music players. I use a bluetooth stereo headset. Bluetooth stack is located in the kernel only I believe. Perhaps try a different one?

I did download a different Kernel on my phone, will prob flash that before I switch ROMs just to see if I can get better battery life before I restore Th3ory's 1.3.1 AO5P. I was getting way better battery life on 1.3 than I am getting on 1.4 I hadto switch to battsaver on speedtweak to get the same about of battery I do on 1.4 that I use to on 1.3.

It fails for things like the PS3 Controller and I've seen people saying they can't get a keyboard to sync. However if you read my post I said HTC, not aftermarket modified kernels based on sense . Good to know that it was fixed by porting and patching things though. I never tried bluetooth on it until recently so I couldnt say from experience how it was on a sense rom
I flashed a different kernel and now I can play music in my car. On same rom listed.

How are you playing music from your Droid to your Car radio via BlueTooth? I have not been able to figure this out.

His car has bluetooth support built into it most likely. Many new cars do.
I have Bluetooth support built into my car, but I have not figured out how to do anything besides a phone call. Is there an app that you are using?

You should probably read the owner's manual for your car if you have not. Not to pull a RTFM on you
Just guessing it probably says how to do it and it varies by car.
Ya my car has a setting for "enabling Bluetooth audio", but it never recognizes my phone running cm7

It should work. It works with my girlfriend's dInc with CM7. If its like her car, you can't set it up unless the car is parked.

Before I say anything, this is the best ROM I've used for any of the devices I've owned. Simply for the fact that I would rather fix it than flash with something else!
Anyway, the problem is my phone no longer works with my car for media streaming through bluetooth. Worked fine prior to flashing with ICScrewd 2.01. It does pair and the phone functions works otherwise.
Is this particular to this ROM or something else? This is a very stripped down build, which is why I liked it.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Sarelon
I can add one thing to this, for the first 3 days and 4-6 reboots after upgrading to 2.0.1 (Flashed 2.0, and then the 2.0.1 upgrade later) anytime I would connect my stereo headset (RF-MAB2) the phone app would FC, I would lose phone signal, data, and bluetooth/wifi. They would all come back 30s-1m later, but upon reconnecting the bluetooth headset and hitting play on an audio file it would play, but no audio would come through the headset or the phone speaker. On the other hand my Jawbone Icon connected and worked just fine at all times, no crashing of the phone app or anything else.
One problem though, when I decided to go and capture a log file of it happening .... it ceased to happen, and hasn't happened since, with or without the alogcat running. I'm completely baffled but do hope we can fix this so it doesn't happen in the future.
i think it might be a 2.3.6 issue but i could be wrong. were you on 2.3.4 when it was working?
I experience this same problem with my bt and my alpinew900 rich has tons of bugs anyways...

So are my options non-existent? Will it be supported soon, is there any ROM close to what you built with BT HID support or am I going back to stock?
Again, fantastic work on this ROM.

Quick question, I've had a search of the forums and not found anything which answers it. So apologies if there is an answer out there which I have missed!
When my phone is connected to bluetooth, all of my notifications are sent to the car speakers.
This is great when I'm listening to music streamed from the phone. But if I've got the phone connected to bluetooth on the chance of incoming calls, but listening to MP3 or FM, then any incoming SMS messages or emails are notified via the car bluetooth headset.
Is there any way to tell the phone to notify both on the handset AND the car when connected to bluetooth???
Thanks in advance.

You must remember that CM9 is in alpha and does not have all the functionality you need. Have you tried any other ICS builds to see if the problem exists there?
Right now, the Sammy ICS ROM's such as Resurrection 9.2 are pretty stable. CM9 has been set back by the availability of drivers.
Cheers!
I'm certain it's not a ROM based issue. I know CM9 is Alpha. Previously I was running MoDaCo Custom Rom on GB.
I think it's the way that all audio is sent to Bluetooth. Hence asking if there is a way around it, via a script or app?

Try a stock ROM.
AOSP ROMs use a different bluetooth stack than stock Samsung ROMs. This is also why most bluetooth controller apps didn't work on stock Samsung ROMs until Dancing Pixel updated the SixAxis app (around October, I think?) with a workaround.
Edit to add: or a stock BASED ROM. If you like AOSP look and feel, with some essential stock bits, check out GingerMod.
Thanks for the reply.
I think it's an inherent issue with all handsets and ROMs. I have a friend using stock, and he still has the same issue.
I guess my post was to understand if there was any way around it (via a hack or app). For instance, my Blackberry alerts on the device itself, but calls and music go through the car headset.
Does anyone know what version of AVRCP our phones come with (any rom)?
I have a stereo system that supports AVRCP 1.3 (allows music tags including song and artist to be transferred), and streaming music works fine, but I don't see any tag information displayed.

I would guess an old one. HTC bluetooth software has always been behind. Thought it seems the one series will have bluetooth 4.0. Hopefully that will get ported over.

Unlikely. Part of Bluetooth 4.0 is BLE which would require change to the radio itself.. ie.. hardware change, not software. The One series has a number of hardware differences that won't be portable, another is the HTC Sense Chip/

I've tried some AOSP/CM9 roms, but all of them don't work with my car's Bluetooth (for phone and audio) as fully as the Samsung-based roms. Specifically, the music info doesn't display on the nav screen. It's a small issue, I know, but I quite like seeing what song is playing on the nav screen as I'm driving.
Does anyone know if this works on any specific AOSP/CM9 rom or what it would take to make it work?
That's a limitation of CM9 Roms,
If you want BT and/or dock audio, go back to Touchwiz based roms.

Yes, I've been on a UCLE2-based rom for almost as long as I've had the Note. I was just asking about it to determine if I should try any of the other AOSP/CM9 roms that are available.
If it was already known what it took to make CM9 roms output audio via BT, there'd be a rom on the front page of the dev forum using working BT audio in the thread title.
Try the AOKP/Paranoid mashup ROM KingKang by DAGr8. This one is the only ICS ROM that seems to have functional phone & music streaming with my car. It's also the first ROM on my Note where Mp3 tags work. I'm using PowerAmp with ScrobbleDroid in a 2012 Outback.
What's weird is that phone & audio streaming has worked great with my Samsung HS3000 BT headset but the car has more problems. Go figure.

Well that's the thing... the audio plays fine over BT and I can go to the next or previous song with the car's controls with the AOSP/CM9 roms I've tried out on the Note. It's just the song info that doesn't display on the nav screen.

Working for me. See my post above. Scrobbling was key to making it work with PowerAmp.
Having an issue getting audio to navigate threw the audio out on my car dock for my i717
I'm running CM9 RC2
Attempted to load the original voicetalk.apk that comes with ICS on the note stock
Also attempted the new voicetalk.apk from the Galaxy SIII with S-Voice. No luck with that one either.
Anyone find a way to make this work? I've searched all the XDA forums and havent found any solution yet...
If u r talking about getting audio during phone calls then it does not work with galaxy series of phones.
However sound for other stuff like music should come out through usb audio.

Yeah, just for music. I use PowerAmp and things like the S-Voice or original Voice Talk audio will still go thru the speaker instead of my docking station. I also went into the dock settings and told it to use the Dock audio, and it still doesnt... :S I know even with the original ROM calls still went thru speaker. Very Trivial...

Its a known issue for cm9 and aokp. None route for usb audio that im aware of, and ive tried many. It was a kernel issue as i understand it, and now that source has finally been released, we will hopefully see the issue addressed. It will work with tw based roms like Hybrid, however, if you install galaxy sound redirector from the play store.
