Hi Guys,
I consider myself noob and any type of help would be appreciated.
Can I mix Mik_os CM7 rom and Franco's 13.7 KERNEL? If its possible, What are the most simplest steps to do it?
same question. ^^
I tryed Gingerbread-2.3.4-rc2 @2011-05-22-21.00+GMT0 + Franco and didn't work. I think it will not work too.

I have mixed various mik's CM7 with franco kernel and never had any problem, currently using beta CM7 6.5.1 with franco kernel 13.7.2

Thanks for the quick reply.
Few more questions.
1.Is it better or what?
2.Do I need to make partitions before installing the Kernel?
3.Do I need to wipe anything before installing the Kernel?
Greetings. As for me i think that mik's CM7 already has it's own Kernel optimized for CM7 so there is no need to flash another kernel like franco's which is i think most optimized for franco's void.devoid ROM. Also i did some benchmarking tests on AtuNtu. So on clean CM7 6.5.1 with native kernel , with CPU 600/245 i had 1326 result, after that i flashed franco's Kernel 13.7 , CPU 600/245 and i had 1136 result on benchmark. As for battery i dont know hadnt time to test both. But i really think that the best combination is just CM7 + libsqlite.so patch + franco's tweaks and none modifications for kernels.

i think the best way is to do it a clean install and use clockwork latest
wipe sd card, create partition 512 mb (automatically creates ext4)
transfer rom file and franco kernel using usb mount
wipe data, cache, system, and then select mik rom and install
reboot and complete the setup for rom, boot into recovery again and flash franco kernel do wipe ur cache
reboot
done!

If so, you mind giving the URLs to Libsqulite patch and franco's tweaks. thanks.
Sure, you can get tweaks from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=999064
and libsqllite from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1000899
scroll down ull see Patched libsqlite.so for 2.3 by:mik_os

Only if you benchmark your phone, for common use I do not feel any noticeable difference. I only flash franco's kernel in mik's CM7 out of curiousity not of necessity.

No, just flash over. It will overwrite the old kernel.
As a short explanation:
no kernel have so sayed "special code" for froyo or gingerbread. We (the developers) have currently the 2.6.32 as base kernel because of missing drivers for a newer kernel version like 2.6.35.
the only difference between all .32er kernels are the patches - one kernel have more patches, another kernel have better patches, another have nothing of all - it works only as is.
thanks for explanation.
Thanks to all who responded.
Ok. New scenario. new problem.
I got mik_os v.6.3 + p500 tweak + libsqlite.os + DT apps2sd + CWM
The problem is I can't upgrade to mik_os v.6.5.
I already got the rom. I tried wiping everything using CWM, even the system. After installing and reboot, I got stuck in the first LG logo. Am I missing anything??
What is the correct way to upgrade and exact steps to take??
Thanks in. advance

i think you need to format your sd card because of app2sd and leave it without partition , and try to flash the rom. If successful then make partitions again and flash app2sd.

nope. only 6.6 is configured to use 2.6.35 kernels. if you flash it, you will run into problems (for example, when i flashed it, camera showed only a white screen and accelerometer didnt work)
hmmmmmm.....Right info....
mik's CM7+ franco's V20 based kernel + OLD baseband ..does this setup work ..has anybody tried it ???
Also how andy's rom ??? I wud love to hear that this works but i doubt that the newer kernel will work with old baseband ..Also where is the kernel stored ??? in boot partition ??

Yes, it does work just fine. Generally, the new baseband is a problem, not the old one.
i mean hows the performance with the new kernel i mean if i again get arnd 35fps at no OC then theres no big reason for me switch i guess.. Also Doesnt flashing this kernel cause some bugs in those roms ??
For mik's ROM, just use the new franco v18.1; the 2.6.35.10 stuff is experimental and buggy with graphics on non-stock ROMs.
Should I flash mik's 6.6 + Francos gingerbread v1, or stay in 6.5.5 + franco v.18 bfs?

ill suggest u to go for 6.5.4 + franco v18 cause its the most stable and less power hungry combination other than noejn's.
6.5.5 has built in v18 so u dont need to flash v18 again.but in my exp ive had more battery drain than the 6.5.4 v18 combo.dont know y.
6.6.is awesome for performance but still in a developing stage...not that stable as 6.5.4. some black screen issues remains...franco is coming with some improvements so wait and see.

If you do not want messing with your phone then i suggest you to stick with Stock. If you really want to flash MIK then try both and see which one is better for you.

JIT is a compilation method to improve performance of code execution. It cannot be "installed". In CM7 ROM, you've an option to enable JIT on your phone.

I've installed latest kernel dated 061211 as told by Franco in thread but still WiFi Tethering is NOT working. Still it is showing "Error".
I've rolled back to stable release v2 22112011 but still WiFi tethering is NOT working.
Any help would be highly appreciated. Hope Franco is working on the same.
flash paulos v6 kernel tethering works in that ...its a bug in francos kerenl..
or you can use the below app to make it work on francos
http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/
What is the link for paulos v6 kernel?
Also I'm very happy with New Franco Kernel... It runs like bullet... Does Paulos v6 also has same capability?
Thanks for replying...
